The Mural was beautiful!!! This place was not hard to find at all. I spent the weekend looking for murals in phx, this by far was my best.
This is the real deal. The iconic Southwest artists paintings are impeccably presented in an idyllic, renovated bungalow in historic midtown Phoenix. The frames are those that Ed Mell designs and builds himself and compliment each painting perfectly, bringing a solid cohesion and presence to all works. The gallery manager, Ken, speaks well and at length about Eds rise to modern painting fame and the processes and practices of the prolific artist. He also markets the gallery seamlessly and professionally, always having a press kit ready to go. This gallery is a must-see and special treat for Ed Mell fans and contemporary art lovers. It is by appointment only.
I only walked by and never was inside so I can not comment. But I do like his paintings especially his clouds. Beautiful colors. But not open at 6 am when we walkMaybe now Google will quit annoying me with wanting a rating. I must have marked never having been there at least 20 times.
A must for serious art collectors who love the southwest. I fell in love with Ed Mells works when I lived in Utah and saw them at a friends living room. He captures the power and majesty of the southwest. Like chocolate, its hard to have just one. His masterpieces always bring back memories of Utah and traveling in south Utah w/ my Mom, especially in Four Corners.
Ed Mell is in a class of his own. His unique style and artistic abilities lend well to the Southwestern subjects that he paints.
Iconic Southwest landscapes. Should have a place in the Smithsonian
