Visited this store recently for the first time to get all the stuff to set up my first tropical fish tank. The staff were helpful, however they did not advise to get a quick start/beneficial bacteria product (which I have learned since is critical to starting the cycle of the tank) so we had some fish die and have been taking action to battle high ammonia levels since. It felt like they wanted to make the sale and sell me fish rather than giving me strong advice and securing an ongoing customer. The guy who runs the fish section is not very confident in his knowledge. I have since visited another aquarium store in NJ and received much better advice and they had a much greater selection of fish and aquatic plants.

I just bought the most beautiful baby bearded dragon from them and Im 100% in love.Update: Shes very happy, the light of my home. 10/10, fantastic little girl. I liked how they housed them, too.

Locally owned business, who really only carry quality stuff for your pets. Willing to try product lines customers suggest, or get something special in. They always have healthy feeder rodents and insects in stock. Not the spot for mass market petfoods - I dont think they stock Purina. The employees are also super chill. Great vibe.

Ive been going there for years one of my favorite stores next to toys are us I hope they never shut down like toys are us. I dont know what I would do for my pets needs.

I will NEVER come here again. We have spent so much here in the past year—we have a pup that just turned 1. I’ve gotten severe attitude multiple times here, all times coming from the young girls that work here. Today was the final straw.... there’s a sign on the door that says something like “if you have a dog, ask an employee if you can come in before entering” (they have a cat that’s aggressive towards dogs). So my pregnant gf pokes her head in and asks if she can come in with the dog, the young lady proceeds to yell at her saying that she needs to knock on the door and wait for an employee to come. Why would you have an aggressive cat at a pet store? And how In the world could a person be in a miserable mood while working in a PET STORE. Your job, it could not get any easier. The least you could do is be in a happy mood. Not coming back, and it’s a shame cause I know it’s a family owned local business. From now on, you can find me in pet valu across the street!!

Quality animals for sale. Bought wide arrange of fish, reptiles and snakes and never had a health problem with any of them.Staff Very knowledgeable on products.

Bought 3 little guppies on Friday. They all dead one day apart from the day after.The fish were sick. Never have this problem when bought from other big stores.

A nice variety of fish, but the proportion of tanks that had multiple dead fish was off-putting. Theres always an occasional dead fish in stores with a lot of tanks, but this was ridiculous and gross.

Excellent staff and service. Went to Petsmart in Plymouth Meeting where they tried to sell me sick half dead gold fish. Left Petsmart to go to Wide World Aquarium which had very healthy fish and a knowledgeable staff.

Best store ever. they have a huge selection. unlike petsmart and petco there animals are not stressed because they are so knowledgeable and caring for there animals when big pet stores do not care that much about the animals also think about it like this, if you think the tanks and such that they keep there animals in are bad those are only there temporary home.

Amazing shop with even more stellar staff. My son has been hunting for a red bearded dragon for a while and we were fortunate there were none close to us in DE. We drove over an hour to World Wide Aquarium to get the dragon and it was well worth it. The staff were kind, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I could not recommend a place more. Thanks for a great experience.

A little low on bird stuff but very good on customer service. They right away ordered a full spectrum lightbulb for me.

Prices seem to be much higher in stores then stated on the website. Also make sure the fish is healthy before buying because one of the gold fish i purchased from this establishment had ick and it spread in my tank. The store employees are very kind and helped me quickly.

This is a small store but the folks who work there are great and super helpful. I’ve never gone there and had to go somewhere else. They have everything you c need plus a giant cat! They remember you and your pet. It’s like family. You will never get that service at a big chain.

Come here instead of your average chain store! Staff was not only incredibly helpful with my questions, but were very friendly and knowledgable about their animals. Prices are very competitive, theres a good variety of species, and they have live feeders I cant really find elsewhere. Certainly worth the longer drive!!

DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!!!We have had a fresh water fishtank for 8+ years. And every fish we have purchased here have died with in 24 hours. All of our fish we purchased else where are still alive and show great colors.

Called Saturday about variety of goldfish . We t today was told busy yesterday most were gone.

Fantastic place. You want quality fish at a competitive price, go here. Waited patiently for about a month for their supplier to bring in a big beautiful male bristlenose pleco. Was worth the wait. Hes been thriving for the past 2 months now.

Great aquarium store for Philly. I often get feeder mice/rat pups for my sons ball python from them. They are friendly and customer service is good. I never feel ignored and never have to wait for service. Live feeder mice/rat pups/rats are hard to find in the city from my experience so we very much appreciate this service. They also have interesting fish and occasionally have rabbits and turtles. They have a great selection of unique snakes and reptiles but bring the coins for those. Its an old fashioned for real aquarium store, nothing like the chain stores (i.e pet smart, pet value, etc.) They are the real deal. If youve ever been in or heard of Martins aquarium, this place reminds me of them just smaller.

Ive bought lots of products from them for my tortoise and got my red foot tortoise from here. The staff are always friendly and super helpful with any sort of inquiries on the products and animals.

A great, small pet store with an emphasis on freshwater aquarium supplies and live stock. Dont let the lack of glitz deter you, the live stock looked healthy and there is a decent variety. The aquarium supplies seemed reasonably priced. I was able to get a recently released Fluval Flex aquarium for a long extremely competitive price. The staff is friendly and helpful, even carried the new tank to my car.Definitely worth a trip.

It was my first time there to buy fish for my tank, and I liked it. They didnt have Particularly what I was looking for, actually, None of the pet stores do, yet, and theyre going to call me when they get them in, But, I did walk away with a couple of fish that Ive never seen before, and a couple of plants for the tank as well. The staff was knowledgeable of the various fish and other creatures. They had several Beautiful discus fish but theyre a little too expensive for my blood. Otherwise, Ill go back.

Ive chosen this store more than once to stock a freshwater planted tank. They have a nice selection of some better than basic fish. HOWEVER, Ive had a terrible experience with the health of their fish as well as the demeanor of a few of their staff members (dismissive and condescending... feels like they give inaccurate advice to make a sale vs educate and set ppl up for success in the hobby). I will not go back again.I considered going in to return my dead pleco I bought 2 days ago... but itd be more about principle and not worth the cost. Wouldve preferred my fish to stay alive.He did have a hemorrhage on his fin that I unfortunately only noticed after getting him home (had not removed him from the store bag yet.). The worker that helped me with him was also VERY rough with getting him in the net so that didnt impress me. I asked him about the coloring of multiple plecos in the same tank and he said the lighter ones were stressed... so that shouldve been a sign that I shouldve be more observant and less trigger happy. I bought 2 snails at the same time as the pleco and they are moving around and doing ok luckily. I did a thorough and lengthy acclimation (stores pH is about 6.6 and mine is 7.4) Tested my water parameters (which I do almost daily out of ocd desire).. 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, 5 nitrates. I put them all into a quarantine tank..(which the worker said wasnt necessary?!). Also tried feeding the pleco, but he wasnt interested :( . My display tank has 1 blue gourami from world wide aquarium (from summer 2019). He is very healthy (good color, bubble nests and good swimming patterns) and so sweet (greets me or swims towards me every time I walk by),. but unfortunately he is the only remaining fish from a total of 5 male gouramis all purchased at same time (more poor advice imo and against my judgement and knowledge at the time). The other gouramis that died were all dwarf and it could be dwarf gourami disease... but still.. the dying trend is suspicious of something from their setup and not in the stores favor at least for me. Very disappointed.

1st. Time here. Nice store, and I learned some history. That the original Owner of World wide Aquarium, had six stores with the same name. They were All sold to independent buyer, but keep the name. Now, I only knew about the one on Garrett Road, Upper Darby. But, I like there selection of South American Cichlids and African cichlids. The Prices arent bad..customer services is good. Keep up the good works. To God Be The Glory. Amen!

Staff has always been helpful and clear on the best environment for our fish. When things have gone awry, they have replaced the fish or tested the water for free.

Hey I usually dont review any one but that store makes me crazy I was there few days back first time to see few fishes and the sales guy has no knowledge about fishes they have all peacock cichlid male tank and I think each fish cost 35$ there are 2 guy who bought couple of males and they want females and the sales guys trying to sell them sub dominant males by saying those are females because they are not colorful as much as males and those 2 guys are new in hobby and have no idea what the sales person trying to sell them i want to buy few fishes but I leave store after seen that stuff NEVER GO BACK THERE.

Bought two red eyed tree frogs and they are both doing great, and it was pretty cheap, however I bought a baby pac man frog once, and it only lasted like 3 months, but Pac-Man frogs are known to randomly die great selection, too

Simply put...World Wide Aquarium is amazing!I don’t know what I would do without them. They are so well rounded as a pet store. They have the largest variety of reptiles under one roof in the area. The aquarium section is my personal favorite! Again, the variety is unparalleled. They have everything from goldfish to Tanganyikan cichlids. Any given day you walk in there you’ll always see something different! Rest assured you go here and they’ll have everything you need for caring for your pets, and more. I’ve known most of the staff up there my entire life and I can tell you they are personable, extremely helpful, and very knowledgeable. The place is extremely well run and established. Couldn’t ask for a better local pet store. I feel like if I needed them to help me carry bags to my car they would. If I needed them to board my leopard gecko for a month while I traveled...they would, if I needed anything specific for any reason they’d order it for me no problem. This is a store full of solutions to all your pet’s needs, at a very reasonable price. I can’t thank them enough for all the good experiences I’ve had. I come here for all my dog and cat food, treats, and toys. They have a great variety of brands and the owner is very knowledgeable about the foods. I actually switched to a better dog & cat food brand thanks to the advice of the owner. Great place.

Best pet shop ever. This place seems a bit odd at first as it is pretty small, but its a million times better than any petco, petsmart or commercial pet store. All of those places get their reptiles and fish from big animal warehouses that abuse their animals. Ive talked to many of the employees at world wide and know that they get their animals form reliable sources that dont abuse and neglect them. All of the employees there are extremely helpful. The man who apprears to own the shop, the young lady with the red hair and the young man with the blonde hair are the best. The people who supervise the back room can be a little standoffish at times but the overall service and quality of the store is great.

Has a great aquatic selection, much different than any of the big box stores.. they are knowledgeable, and will order items for you if they dont currently have them in stock. Very helpful & courteous staff too. We travel here from the other side of the city regularly because they are that good at what they do.

While they do have a nice a selection of necessities for your furry friends, their focus is very aquatic. But I was able to get my puppy 2 beds and two beef sausages for 60 bucks. And everyone is SO friendly! Will definitely be back
