EXCELLENT Bow Shop! My new home base. I had a emergency repair on November 7th and needed to find a bow shop (mine went out of business). I was referred to Buck Rub and WOW. These guys do it right. Professional service and staff. Lots of inventory and organized. I drove 50 minutes to visit them and will continue to do so. Its well worth the drive. Thanks to the team there for getting me back in the field. :)

This is a great place to get set up to hunt with any type of archery equipment. If youve never shot a bow give them a few hours and youll walk out hitting the bulls-eye. Ive known Kaz for a very long time. In fact I bought my first archery equipment from him when I was 19 years old. Im now 54 and still buying equipment from him. They have a terrific 40-yard 3D range with 2 levels. You can shoot flat at the lower level or walk up to the upper level and hone in your tree stand skills. The Pro Shop and repair shop is second to none. They sell just about every manufacturers bows. They have a custom arrow shop if youd like to fletch your arrows in your own colors. The lounge is pretty cool and the beer is ice cold. I was there on a day when they had the Cub Scouts in for a group shoot that was kind of neat to see. Highly recommended.

Im definitely a Buck Rub customer for life. I purchased a bow from them in 2011, shot a few arrows but life happened and I never had the chance to paper tune it. 9 years later I dropped the pull to 50 lbs and Kaz tuned it up! Try to get that kind of service from an online purchase. Actually, try to match that kind of service anywhere these days. That Buck Rub sticker on your bow... it means something.Tom

Honestly can’t say enough positive things about the staff, their professionalism, and their willingness to do what it takes to get the job done right.Jeff and the staff took additional time to fine tune not only my bow, but the optics as well (even past operating hours). No question was beneath them, nor did they ever make me feel like I was wasting their time.Where a lot of people take pride in being the “smartest people in the room”, it’s obvious that the entire staff here takes pride in making sure you have the best operating bow in the room. Thanks for all of the help. I came in today to have my two bows tuned and checked-out. Ive had bad experiences at many archery shops over the years, and make the 4-hour drive to Buck Rub a couple times a year because their pro shop staff is the best Ive ever experienced.Today I was lucky enough to have the owner, Greg Kazmierski, helping me tune my bow. In the 45 minutes I worked with him, he taught me more about bow tuning, proper grip, arrow flight, and archery in general than Ive learned in the last 10 years. In a short time he corrected my grip and tuned my bow perfectly. He refused to accept a tip, so we settled on a Google review, and I can honestly say I wouldnt go anywhere else for archery equipment or service.I buy my bows here, I get them worked on here, and theyve earned my business for as long as theyre open. Buck Rub has extremely knowledgeable staff and the best prices on archery equipment, period.

I was disappointed today with the tones and demeanor of one of the owners. Made me sad that a customer would be treated in such a way. Unfortunately, it was also in front of my children. I wish Buck Rub well as I have been a customer for a long time. I will, however, not be returning. Additionally, as my son said on the way home when I asked, What did we learn from today? to which he replied, we wont be going back there where the people are so mean. You lost the future business of my children as well.

We brought in my husbands bow to be restrung. The staff was rude and condescending, telling us that the strings he’d ordered specifically for his bow were ‘wrong’. No problem- we contacted the shop that made them, and another set were sent. Those strings were strung, we were charged twice (once for the original set that weren’t strung, and once for the replacement strings). The second set were still strung upside down, so we’re now paying to have the job fixed by another archery shop in town. Just wish they’d been honest and told us they didn’t know how to do it, rather than wasting our time and money, and blaming us for having a bow they couldn’t figure out.

My husband bought my first bow here and we went in Wednesday night to get it fitted. The owner spent a lot of time teaching me proper form, measuring and fitting my new bow, then more time making sure it fit after all the adjustments. Set us up with the best accessories to get started and was just all around very helpful. Everyone who worked there was very friendly and helpful. They were hosting a kids birthday party at the indoor range and the kids were having a great time. So even though they were busy we were not rushed at all. And with all that great service, the cost of the bow was the same as other stores in the area.

After a minute the employee came back and said everything was in stock and it would get done and ready for me the next morning. Brought my bow in for a tune(RX1ultra) first of all no one in that shop has any knowledge of Hoyt products whatsoever. They sold me a garbage string/cables that not even 2 months later need to be replaced!! They sent me home with my bow incomplete!! I went from Buckrub to the range and upon first arrow my bow was so loud that it sounded like a crossbow going off. What would you know they didn’t tighten down the mod. Honestly that’s a simple detail and it could’ve been catastrophic if they forgot something else! I will never be taking my bow back there because no one in the shop is knowledgeable aside from taking your money. Never would I recommend a serious archer to take your high end equipment here. Ever! Fantastic customer service! I shop almost exclusively online because there is no customer service in retail anymore. Why pay extra to get poor service? (Cabelas anyone?) Then I had an issue with my new Barnett crossbow. I looked up Buck Rub and took it in, expecting to be told I would have to leave it and pick it up later. Nope, Wyatt fixed it up right then and there- at 7 oclock at night! Not only that, after he got it back together, he checked it over, recommended some additional adjustment, explained what it was and why it mattered and then did the adjustment in a matter of minutes, all for an extremely reasonable fee. He also gave me some good tips on crossbow maintenance, answered a few questions I had about accessories and was just generally really helpful. These guys are Buck Rub are doing it right! I walked out of there with my crossbow fixed, a couple of the right accessories and some solid advice. More, I left feeling really good about the experience! To Wyatt and the guys at BR: Ill be in the woods this weekend because of you. Thanks again!

Today I called Buck Rub. A lady answered the phone, very nice. I asked if I could come in and shoot my crossbow. She asked me to hold to get me to that department. Next, Hi this is Alex. Hi Alex I was calling to see if there was room open to come in and shoot my crossbow today. He asked me if I bought the bow though them. I said no, however earlier this week I dropped off my bow and you guys mounted the scope and sighted the bow in ($63 I spent for that). In a tone that I perceived was kinda cocky, Alex said Nope you didnt by the bow here you can not use our range. I was shocked and said wow okay. I need to say the gentleman with dark glasses (I wish I remembered his name) is the one that helped me earlier this week when I dropped off my bow for the sighting in was very nice and helpful with being a first timer using a crossbow.Because of Alex today, you have lost my business. I am a pretty laid back guy and dont write reviews. However todays actions I felt I needed to express my experience. My number one thought is how do you see you business growing when you dont let someone use (obviously paying to shoot) the range to shoot just because they didnt buy the bow from you?In closing I found a great place that I never knew about. After talking to a friend about this experience I had with Alex today he told me about Whale Tail. Thanks Whale Tails in Dousman for welcoming me in to shoot. Their entire staff was very pleasant and welcoming. They won a new customer.Best of luck Buck Rub.

For starters, they seem to have an irrational fear of crossbows. They dont have any place for you to sight in or try out your new crossbow. They did a substandard tuning on my friends compound bow; no paper tuning, sold him arrows with the wrong spine, and a rest not ment for finger release. This was all pointed out by members of a local league.Service is slow, with people wandering about not doing much of anything.Last, and probably least, the targets on the range are supported by steel posts INSIDE the target where they can destroy an errant arrow, instead of behind the target. The one bright spot was a young man with a good memory and cheery, by comparison, attitude.

I took my Mathews bow to a few different Mathews dealers around Milwaukee because of a noise i had every time i drew back my bow and I thought it was loud when releasing an arrow. one place i took it is expose to be a great Mathews dealer in pewaukee. They told me the noise was normal, i knew it wasnt because it just started during the hunting season. They didnt seem like they wanted to help me because i didnt buy the bow from them. The place I bought my bow has gone out of business. I have bought some arrows from this place in pewaukee and I thought they were a little long but they told me they had to be that long, which again was untrue. So I took a drive i to little Jon he was very helpful from start to finish. first he put the string on it and tuned it up. There was a charge for a tune up but that was expected. No more noise and it is the quietest it has ever been. He also put on a top of the line arrow rest that i got from a friend because it wasnt what my friend liked and cut 2 inches off of my arrows at no charge. after little jon tuned up my bow and shortened my arrows i have never shot better. my arrows fly better and i picked up a little speed. I also weighed my arrows just to make sure they were not to light. they are just fine. Dont wast your time in the Milwaukee area take the hour drive and get it all done right.

Earlier this spring I made the decision to purchase a new bow. After attending spring expos and shows, visiting local bow shops; my friend Tom and I decided to make the trek to Buck Rub Outfitters in Pewaukee WI.Im glad I did. Kaz and the staff at Buck Rubs are friendly and fun people to be around. There is no high pressure sales tactics. They took the time to listen to me and understand what I was looking for. The selection of top tier bows is impressive. Even more important to me was their left-hand bow inventory carrying Hoyt, Mathews and Bowtech on hand to shoot and compare. Being a lefty, it is very difficult to find a bow shop who carries such a selection. After shooting models Id been considering I was able to compare and get an accurate feel for which bow impressed me the most. This not only saved me time and money, I truly feel I got the bow I wanted. Oddly it was not the brand and model that was tops on my list.Buck Rub took the time to set up my bow the same day I purchased it. I figured that I would have to pick up the bow on a different date. But since I traveled over an 1-1/2 hours from my home to their facility, set up was done at time of purchase.During my visit, I purchased their BRA capture drop away arrow rest. Initially I was content to stick with my QAD Ultra. Im impressed with the arrow rest for its quietness, drop away speed and unique capture system that utilizes magnets in lieu of springs. Having two (2) QAD rests fail in the past; I thought what the heck, why not give it a try. After shooting 200-300 arrows through the bow, I returned for to have the bow tuned and checked over. This service included in purchase of the bow. With 24-hr advanced notice, they had no problems working me in on a busy Saturday. Within a very short period of time everything was check and bow paper tuned. Afterwards I spent time launching arrows inside their 40-yd 3D indoor range. As indoor ranges go, this is probably the nicest, most relaxing and challenging range youll find. From 10-yards to 40-yds one is able to practice and dial a bow in a controlled environment. The indoor range in my opinion is one feature that allows Buck Rub Outfitters to stand out.Buck Rub stands behind what the sell. After having tuned my bow, I had an accident that resulted in damage to my new arrow rest. Damage was no fault of the bow or equipment, damaged happened during a weird, freakishly odd event. After noticing the damage, I reached out Kaz at Buck Rub to discuss my dilemma. 10-days later I made the trek back to Buck Rub to have the bow and everything on it inspected. Without any hesitation, the bow was looked at, arrow rest replaced and bow tuned (again). The service was done as a courtesy; no charge. How many other archery shops can you say would do such.If looking for a new bow and/or a place to shoot in southern / southeast Wisconsin between Madison to Milwaukee, Buck Rub Outfitters will take care of you. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and eager to help you. Kaz (the owner) is a person who loves seeing people shoot and hunt at all ages. Ive even picked up some new tricks to better improve my shooting.

I will go back to shoot the video range. I read some poor reviews on here- I did not buy my bow from them so I cant comment on the expertise in the real technical area of sizing and buying a bow. I can tell you that I got my bow from another local Archery shop and they didnt set my bow up correctly. I had to have a friend who is an avid bowhunter, adjust it. But they did measure me and size it corectly. I love my Hoyt Charger. I am new to shooting and was happy that they helped me out at Buck rub today.

My girlfriend is a level 1 licensed archery instructor so while she dosent know high end bows too well she does know her way around a bow and how things should feel. She came here to buy her bow as they had very good prices and had come highly recommended. She will never make another purchase here again. She went in knowing that she had a 28.5 draw length and was comfortable with 40 to 45 pound draw weight. The guy helping her took one look at her laughed and said we will set it to 30 pounds and didnt even bother to measure for draw length. She told him again that she was comfortable with 40 to 45 and would like it set to that. They told her they needed to keep the bow overnight to set it up and that someone would call her as soon as it was ready. 4 days later after no call she called them and was told she had to come in to set it up. We went in the following sunday and were directed to wait at the service counter that it would be a few minutes. An hour and a half later someone finally got around to helping us. Upon first drawing the bow she commented that the weight seemed low and that she couldnt fully draw back. He looked and said actually you are over drawing and we need to shorten the draw length. As they had her shoot to test the setup she continued to tell him that it was uncomfortable to shoot. As he was suppose to be a professional and she had already paid for the bow she just gave up and let him set it so she could get out of there. We left and went to another shop. The new shop took the time to measure and ask her what she found comfortable. The bow had been setup with the draw length almost 4 too short. Buck Rub had also installed about $40 worth of items that was not needed or improperly installed and ended up being removed and or replaced. The particular bow that she bought had an alignment issue that is repaired with a shim kit. The guy at Buck Rub said that he adjusted that part but as the second shop pointed out there was no shim installed and showed that it was needed in orer to properly adjust the bow. In the long run it cost more to buy the bow through Buck Rubs. Their customer service is very rude. From our experience as well as reading other reviews it appears they set their equipment up to wear out and fail in hopes that you will bring it back to have them replace the parts. Their staff was far from professional and the guy we worked with appeared to have little knowledge. While their prices may seem to be lower save yourself the frustration and just buy elsewhere. In the long run you will save more.

After purchasing the Carbon Express Maxima Red arrows online (pre-fletched) I brought them into Buck Rub to have them cut to my draw length. I was told that because of the way the arrow is built, you are supposed to cut the same off of each end of the arrow. So I figured they should know what they are talking about and said ok. But, since my arrows came pre-fletched, he suggested I just cut them down on the front end and use them anyway (which turns out is what you are supposed to do anyway). After a year of shooting, and 2 deer, I was down to only one arrow. I drove over a half hour one way figuring the self proclaimed Midwests Premier Archery Shop would have the most popular arrow on the market. I was wrong. I drove 15 minutes down the road to another archery shop and spoke with the employee regarding the Maxima Reds. He informed me that after sitting down at the ATA show with the engineer that designed the Maxima Reds, that you are not to cut from the back end of the arrow. Seems like a pretty good source of information to me. On a positive note, one gentleman working did help me fix a small problem with my bow. I did appreciate the help, just frustrated with the transaction process...or lack thereof. I would think at a respectable archery shop such as Buck Rub, the people would know more about one of the most popular products in the industry. Just my .02

Rude and unhelpful regarding the most basic of questions. I do not recommend Buck Rub for any archery needs.

Broke a cable on the first night of my annual 5 day bow hunting trip. Called a dozen shops most said no way but Buck Rub said bring it in so I drove back in. Despite it being after store hours, they waited and stayed after hours and fixed my bow. I was in the stand the following morning.
