Worth visiting when open. Former City Library (Carnegie Library)and now a repository of mostly local historical materials and displays, with special temporary exhibits. Large staff of volunteers and docents.

Went to go on a walking tour they did every Saturday in October. The kind lady showed us architectural design of downtown buildings. Also some Petaluma history.I grew up in Petaluma. I was able to ad some history facts to the tour. That must make me old.

A real treasure in downtown Petaluma. Quite amazing details in the history of this formerly rural Northern California egg capital. A real deal, only donations. It deserves to be seen by everyone in the county.

If only the employees there were more passionate about their work. They saw me looking at the display, and proceeded to put a screen blocking me from viewing the display. I had to go behind the screen to snap this picture.

I have had the opportunity to visit the Petaluma Museum and Library for various reasons. Many are the great events that take place here. I have learned so much about the history of Petaluma here from the displays and the helpful volunteers and the Petalumans of Yesteryear. The building itself is a historic site and the dome stain glass ceiling is something special to see. Every time I walk in there the volunteers and docents are friendly and very informative. They change up their exhibits periodically so it is never the same experience on each visit.
