They have a new quick way of shortening your time in the checkout line. The line was long but moved fast

Michaels is a bit pricey but if you know how to use all the discounts and coupons on things you need, you will get a good bargain. I love that they have all types of crafts, decorations and the classes for the kids. The classes are available on Saturdays and weekdays and they have more available during the summer.

Michaels isnt as abundant as say hobby lobby. It is organized, great prices, and relaxing. Not real busy, relaxed environment. Unfortunately comfortable shopping for the consumer usually leads to a business eventually closing their doors.

Their inventory was excellent, the store was clean and organized. Much better than the Santa Rosa store. However, Michaels has raised their prices so much that Im going to try different outlets.

I like that it does cover a wide breadth of arts and crafts. I can go here for a great selection of frames, yarn for knitting or crochet, art supplies, photo booking, and many other crafts. Ive gone in on the weekend and there was hardly anyone there. Knocking it down a notch due to the lack of anyone using these or at least having knowledge of the products.

Two year old granddaughter wanted a bird house to paint blue, they had about 10 different ones for her to pick from, checkout person treated her like a big person, talked just to her, asked her ques, made her feel big and important, great experience

Bought 2 poster frames from their website for a buy one get one free deal. Went to pick them up and realized the frames I bought were cheap flimsy frames I didnt like. I asked the clerk if the better frames were on sale for the same deal. She said yes they were. At checkout she said I owed her 51 dollars. I said the difference in price is 21 dollars. Finally, after a managers intervention, she explained I was getting a refund for 51 dollars because I returned the 2 I didnt like. I said OK but the clerk wasnt very clear about what was happening. I run across the store to get another frame I like that the clerk said was 2 for one. She rings it up and says. Oh these arent on sale till Tuesday....... I just left. Frustrating.

MaryAnne which is the manager is extremely rude! As a customer I witnessed first hand how she talked down to her employees and gave unprofessional responses over the employees walkie talkies. This made me very uncomfortable for the employees there.

Its astounding what all they carry!! I love that they always have sales and active coupons. I dont love that the checkout lines are often painfully long. But I am SI grateful to have my local Michaels be so close by!!!

I go to a lot of Michaels in the bay area and always seem to have the best luck with stock at this store. The employees are all helpful, friendly, and fast. Compared to other bay area stores, the lines are always short and its easy to get in and out of. I love Petaluma Michaels!

Good things for crafts

Michaels is pretty good. They carry a large variety of craft supplies for just about anything you want to do. Age makes no difference. There are things for young and old.

Helpful but not until I had to yell, need more staff. Apparently order on-line, like Oriental trading, so I was told.Love their sales, guess personal purchase is old-fashioned nowadays.

So the reason for two stars is- i can never find someone to help me!- most of the times I go their theere always on cashier and a 20foot line now

Not easy to find what I was looking for, the only way to get any help there was standing in line for the ONE cashier behind people with full shopping carts. Then she didnt know where to look for the 1 thing I went there for, she had to call someone. Prices are good if you can find what youre looking for.

Its gone downhill with the new management. It takes forever to pickup an online order because theyre short-staffed (no one wants to work for the Queen of Mean). She fired the best art framer they had because he defended a customer. Hopefully, theyll get rid of her soon.

So clean, very reliable, always my go to for; painting, crafting, beading, school craft/projects, crochet/sewing.... Prices are always good, coupons are online (if in a pinch), and the people are always cool!

About Michaels Corporation in general:-Decent craft supply selection available, though I really wish the scrapbook section was bigger/better with more options (like it used to be).-Coupons are kind of a pain to use so make sure you read the fine print. About this Petaluma location specifically:-Bathrooms are absolutely disgusting and dont look like theyre ever cleaned (I worked at a michaels before so I can assure you - theyre not cleaned ever, just dusted over).-My mom tried to tell a manager about the uncleanliness once and the manager just argued back with her repeatedly :/

Employees need to learn their store better. I dont have any clue what is on what isle. I do know that spray paint is locked up at any store.

Sono. You like crafting you will like this place. I wish that they had more stuff since the Beverlys in our area just closed, but, theres Amazon and other places to get what they dont have. Otherwise I shop locally first. Dont get me wrong, they have a lot of stuff, but, sometimes youre looking for that ONE thing.

Found alot of Bluray DVDs for a buck. Alot of stuff we dont get in SF. I like it better than the stores down south.

I have always found what I needed when entering this store.

Michaels is a big box store for arts and crafts. I was disappointed with the lighting. As most big box stores do, they have fluorescent lighting to keep the electric bills down. That works ok for Target, K-mart and Walmart. But for a store that supplies artist paints, there is not a single full spectrum or incandescent light to help color match various colors. Would it hurt to have a viewing kiosk with proper lighting like any good paint store has? Good luck on matching any particular color with that very limited color temperature of fluorescent bluish/green light.

Amazing framing. A very knowledgeable framer by the name of Helene, helped me reclaim 3 paintings worth quite the pretty penny. I made the mistake of first getting them framed by an online company(cheap) that improperly framed the paintings, putting them at risk of tearing as we had to gently peel the canvas away from the boarded and board, (who puts glue on a painting!!!) very glad Helene was there to save my paintings.Thank you Helene

While I love the selection of beads and jewelry making staples. Their prices are very high for not the most quality products. I get most of my art supplies online. I spend about 40% less for better products.

I love Michaels. I always find items for my sons school projects. But they offer so much more and the prices are reasonable. I always forget, but its a great place to buy gifts for kids. They have a huge sale area with lots to pick from.

Lots of wonderful craft items! Prices are also good as well. Lots of helpful staff. People you find working on the floor are very knowledgeable. Sometimes the newest people work at the register and in an effort to be helpful try to find someone who can answer questions and it holds up the line when they are busy. So better to leave them just ck people out.

Coupons & Sales can make most of their prices very reasonable. If you cannot find Fine Art supplies in store, ask to see their locked cage goods. Oftentimes theyll have a few unlisted or items missing from where you expect them on store shelves. These are usually the higher priced items, so having a 40-60% off coupon can be very handy. Just check out their website.Note: You dont need to print a copy of the coupon if you have a good cell phone, a clear screenshot of the bar code will do.

Good selection of crafts and materials for kids, fine art painting, scrapbooking and photo albums, knitting and crocheting including instruction books. Not the place to go for textile crafts such as weaving or quilting, but nice selection of embroidery materials.

This location has everything I need. They always have the aisles clean and organized, and their customer service is very high.

It has every arts/crafts thing one could imagine. For some reason their checkout protocols are exceedingly slow. They need to have some pleasant music playing for customers waiting in the long slow checkout line.

I hadnt been to a Michaels store in about a year and was pleasantly surprised during a recent visit. The Petaluma store is very well lit and the aisles were super well organized. Plenty of staff were in store to help out and we found everything we were looking for. Our cashier was awesome as well: super friendly, she had a nice chat with my young children and definitely made them feel special. Absolutely looking forward to coming back to the Petaluma Michaels store again soon!

Pretty good all around craft store, but not for fabric, limited sewing items and options available.Yarn section is okay, but lacks any unique and natural high quality yarns.Good seasonal items and lots of adorable craft supplies of many medias.Custom framing available and classes periodically on different techniques in the crafting world.Down side is a lack of qualified, educated staff on the products they sell. Most often the consumers will know as much about the craft they are purchasing for as the help.That said, occasionally there is someone available in the store who really knows their stuff, thats great when it happens..

Great for crafts, but they are VERY limited in their stock of actual art supplies such as oil paints. I went in with a list of 7 colors I wanted (which are very common colors) but they only had ONE!

Went with daughter to get her drawing pencils for illustrations in anatomy class. High quality pencils.

Pretty solid art supply selection. Cashiers and staff are friendly and plenty of parking.

Went for my daughter

This is a fun store to browse, and we love going to the Saturday craft classes for kids. The employees seem so bored, though. No one seems to be able to muster any pep for their customer service game.

Prompt attentive courteous customer service. Took an art piece in to be reframed was given an estimate of 48 hours to complete as the glass panel was a custom cut size. Also able in advance of the holidays to add a new nutcracker to my 50+ with a new Count Dacula nutcracker.

It was okay not a lot of cool atmosphere. Everyone was more creative than me.

Love this place grreat for teacher ideas and teacher discount.

Michaels? Far too expensive. Lots of useless stuff waiting to go the landfill. Lots of useful stuff waiting to be bought. At ridiculous prices. Michaels used to be a real DIY store. At reasonable prices. The latest merchandising iteration is awful. It seems all the crafty parts and DIY goodies are relegated to little back alleys while gaudy plastic toy and seasonal things get the premium space. I used to love going to Michaels. Now it just stresses me out...sorry

Its got just about everything you could think of for crafts! Plus its clean and the staff is great I often go here for some necessity and I end up spending way more time an money than I meant to. Always a fun time at Michaels! Plus every restaurant in this center is awesone so the location is a bonus!

Always look up coupons before coming here, they usually always have something that will help cut down on costs. The line wait can be a little long here but thats usually due to the fact that employees are helping customers find the correct products for their needs.
