Love this park! It’s beautiful! Plenty of trails to walk and lot to see. There is access to the beach and also a lot of picnic tables. You can rent paddle boards and/or kayaks during the season (little pricier than the rentals on NAS Pensacola). They have a camping ground too. They are currently working on the old boat access area.You might even get to see an alligator.It’s $4 per car.

Really enjoyed our day trip with the family. We will be back with our paddle boards !

Nice open launch space and plenty of area to kayake, canoe or wake board without too much other traffic.

We had a great time visiting this state park, the tower gives you the option to look out over the whole lagoon and there was a small park for the kids to play

Great launch point to explore the lagoon or go straight into the intercoastal. There is a beautiful view from the observation tower and indoor restrooms in the parking lot. If you dont have your own kayak there are some located there to rent. While Ive never really fished the lagoon there are definitely fish in there!

We didnt use the launch but did stay at Big Lagoon State Park and enjoyed our stay. Sites were a but hard to get in to but once in we were happy. So much to do around here it was great. Also be sure to take the time to go to NAS Pensacolas air craft museum. Its free and worth the trip. We loved our stay and will stay here again!!

They did have open space when others full. Swim area stated swim at own risk right by the sign that said caution alligators.

Fantastic place to kayak! Really unique experience. Take your time paddling through the reeds or out in the lagoon.

This is a great place to launch your kayak from because its such a short walk from the waters edge to the parking lot. You do have to be careful about paddling out towards the channel, because there is minimal speed restriction in Big Lagoon area, and you can find a big wake. It is usually quite peaceful and not too busy at this location.

An absolutely gorgeous place to get out on the water and find your aquatic happy place. Its incredibly quiet and peaceful here. Very laid back, not a lot of boat traffic. You can really just kick back and chill.My visit today, 3 May 2018, was brief, but I look forward to coming back and spending a lot more time exploring and enjoying this place.#JamesAmericanJourney approved
