I had an exceptional time at this event! The venue was great, designed and decorated well. The food was absolutely amazing. Having the casino there was a super fun touch!! Thank you for all your hard work in helping to coordinate this event!

Matt did an amazing job at our wedding. We got married on the beach and then had our reception at a beach house right by it. During the ceremony, Matt had some speakers out to play our songs for the ceremony and he did amazing.He was so easy to work with on customizing everything. He had a nice custom questionnaire so that we could pick the perfect soundtrack. We are pretty laid back so we just told him what we didnt want, but let him handle it from there on the reception. We just wanted people to have a good time and we told him that. We told him to just read the room and do what he thought would be best. He brought a dance floor that he set up for us and it was packed. All of our guests were dancing and the song choices were perfect so we are glad we left it up to him!He was extremely nice and professional and we would book him again if we had another event in the area!

Matt Powell and his team did an amazing job at our event, the Gatsby Girls Speakeasy Ball 2018! His lighting, projection, sound, draping, and dj skills are superb! Matt and his guys at Powell Entertainment truly made my wedding one to remember! We hired him for entertainment, lighting, and renting a dance floor. Booking him was a no-brainer (my mom absolutely loved how personable and professional he is) and he was so responsive to emails and texts during planning. We changed our minds on what we needed a few times but he was so accommodating and didn’t make us feel like we were being a burden even when we were stressing out. He went above and beyond what we hired him to do (putting batteries in fairy lights that weren’t provided by him, moving picnic tables in our venue’s courtyard, etc.).Our lights were absolutely stunning (cafe string lights above the dance floor and outside our venue’s courtyard) and Matt had us dancing the entire night! He performed a perfect mix of songs I provided in a playlist beforehand and songs he knew would get people on the dance floor. It was wonderful! I did notice that he didn’t play any slow songs, which I and some of my guests would have appreciated, but nevertheless everyone had a blast and we are still getting raving reviews on how fun our wedding was!Thank you Matt!!

Matt was one of the best decisions we made when planning our wedding! He kept everything going as planned, and when we had to adjust, he made it seamless. Every song was perfectly on cue and he kept the party going once every started dancing. The lighting and monogramming system he used was very professionally done, and made the Yacht Club we were married out just light up and become so magical and whimsical..I highly recommend him to anyone who is getting married!!! Disappointment BIG TIME. He left the wedding party too early and without saying anything to anyone. Very unprofessional. I recommend to bring your own iPod .... you will have a better experience that way.

We chose Matt as our DJ and lighting expert for our wedding (April 2017) and we were delighted by his work. He met with us in person and we communicated through phone and email to make sure everything was how we wanted it to be on the big day. He did an excellent job on the lighting set up, We chose to use both up-lighting and cafe lighting which turned out wonderful at Seville Quarter Apple Annies. The guys were courteous, professional, and went above and beyond to keep the entire group happy and make everything look perfect. Not only did he have to make some major last minute adjustments due to a massive rainstorm, but they did so with a smile and made sure our bride had exactly what she wanted. The most valuable aspect of their services was the fact that she had a family heirloom chandelier that was one of the most important pieces she wanted incorporated into her day. They treated us like family and made sure that they installed the chandelier safely and was very honest about her options of where it could hang. I could continue to preach the value of this company. Ill end with saying you should not hesitate when deciding who to use for your next event. Powell Entertainment is top notch.

Perfect in every way

Matt did an exceptional job with my wedding ceremony and reception!! The lighting (ceremony and reception), slideshow projection setup on the big screen during the first dances, photo reel on the TV during the reception, music selection and overall compatibility with the guests made for an awesome night- he kept everyone engaged! He even coordinated the lighting for our Mardi Gras style “2nd line” dance to match Mardi Gras colors during the song!! He NAILED it!! The whole night was spot on and I am so grateful for the memories he helped us create on our wedding day 1/20/18!! I would recommend Powell Entertainment for any event! The lighting and sound was absolutely amazing, thank y’all so much for everything and helping make the event a success!

The only reason I chose this DJ because he mentioned that he plays unlimited hours. My wedding started at 5pm and Matt took it upon himself to wrap up at 10pm. Hes very unprofessional and refused to play after 10pm since he packed up all his music gear. Not only is he very expensive but he also did not play all night like he agreed to. Do not select this DJ. He should have never played at my wedding because he couldnt wait to go home. I dont know how he stays in business. Id ask him to play longer and he refused. He ruined my wedding. I wouldnt want another couple to experience what I went through.

We had hired Matt to play at our wedding and we were surprised that he wrapped up at 10pm to go home. We didnt pay $1500 for a DJ to go home at 10pm. We had asked Matt to play longer but he refused. Very unprofessional and he took our money and went home. Do not waste your money with this inexperienced DJ. Hes THE WORST ever in this area. We should have gone with other DJs that would play way better and someone who can be courteous to your guests. We completely regret selecting Matt since he ripped us off. He shouldnt be in business. He ruined our wedding.

This guy knew we where out of state, at 10:00pm he packed up and disappeared after being told he would play til midnight.
