Worth the tour price! Heads up you are put in an elevator twice, so if you are pretty worried about social distancing dont do the tour. Masks required. Was so cool to be right next to the blades! My toddler loved the little village model.

We decided to hit Pella Iowa on our way back South to Missouri from our Vacation trip up North. The throw back Dutch town and working Vermeer mill is pretty cool, and worth the extra miles to swing over by and check out today, and the boys learned some more history, so its a win, win all around. Plan on spending a couple of hours @ the Mill for the tour of the Mill and the buildings surrounding it.

Really cool to go up to the top and see how a mill works. They grind wheat flour too that is sold in the shop. Staff is really nice and museum is really cool.

Wonderful way to learn the heritage of Pella

The stop at the Vermeer Mill and Pella Historical Village was the highlight of our day. We were traveling through from Ohio and we read about the tallest operating windmill in the United States in Pella. We decided to stop and it was well worth it. The town of Pella is as charming as you might expect any picturesque small town in the US might be.The Vermeer Mill, which is still operational, is an engineering marvel. To understand the the beauty and mechanics of the mill, you will need to go on a tour which costs $10. Its highly recommended. The tour takes you up the windmill to the top wrap-around deck to give you a Birdseye view of Pella and the historical village.If you go on the tour on a Saturday, request Tony. Tony was extremely knowledgeable and a great story teller! Hes one of the best guides Ive had anywhere. He even took me to the very tip top of the mill, which he normally doesnt do. Tony also let me turn the blades of the mill by tugging on a large rope.Who know so much heritage and history in Pella, Iowa? Thanks again, Tony!

I didnt tour the mill, but it was an impressive site in a cute little town. My wife liked it so much she asked me to check on available jobs at Pella Windows and wed move down...and she was semi-serious!

While I missed the time for the tour, the lady behind the counter at the gift shop went out of her way to provide me with excellent service when picking out a gift for my girlfriend.

Pella is a wonderful stop, even out of the tulip season! The mill is a must see. Awe inspiring example of old world craftsmanship and ingenuity. The tour guide and miller(?) were very knowledgeable and told the story well. Our weekend in Pella was very relaxing and the Mill was a good stop.

I was in town for work and decided to take a guided tour of the windmill. Highly recommend was a great experience and the staff and the gentleman who did the tour was great. Love the shop where you can buy things from Holland nothing was overpriced at all. You can even buy flour from the mill would highly recommend this experience I learned a lot about windmills and the town too. Thank you I would love to bring my family for the tulip festival.

Interesting and well preserved

Really did not plan to stop here but did after looking it up online. Worth the stop. The windmill is really neat but the replica villages, seasons and other real life replicas in the train room was by far the most impressive! Highly recommended.

Tour the top, it is a mill from Holland. Nice view from top. $10 also a tour in back that the houses they lived in Holland tables chairs ECT. Candy from Holland and other things to buy. Great stop

Pella, IA is a Dutch town. The windmill is in the downtown area and is part of a historic village that has old buildings like a blacksmith shop, an old library and a house where Wyatt Earp lived. It is included in the price of the tour for the windmill. The windmill tour is cool, including showing where they can grind the corn (that do, and they sell it in the gift shop). Tour guide did a fabulous job.

Vivid, charming history ... soaring authentic windmill sails ... best vantage point to see across uptown Pella.

Its good to see at once, staff is friendly. I love Pella.

They do an amazing job preserving interesting artifacts and are great at explaining them. The millers are very knowledgeable and clearly love to share their hobby. All run by volunteers!

Pretty place, cool to look at, but the staff was horrifically rude. Treated us like we were beneath them and acted like we should have automaticly know what times their tours were (even though we never even asked to go on a tour).

If youre going to Pella, this is probably something that should be on your to-do list. Lots of interesting things to look at and see. With your paid admission you get a lovely tour of the windmill and the historical Village is included.

Dont miss this experience. Small Dutch community historical museum and Vermeer Windmill tours. Within two blocks to two world class bakeries and two meat markets. You cant miss with Dutch Letters and Pella Bologna.

Tours are $5 and include walking around on the platform up by the blades. Great view of the town. Informed and kind guides.
