This was a great weekend at Falcon Field...The Sounds of WWII....GREAT Weather food and fun...all the volunteers were great with the exception of one group that only allowed WHITE kids to climb on the jeeps but when my children who were on them got off them and got in them AGAIN only to have some who my kids CALLED racists told them to get OFF and keep OFF the jeeps and after my kids got OFF they came and told Daddy...they pointed the group to me and I told the kids well turn the other cheek and enjoy the day....by the way we went out there 55 miles to show RESPECT for our Veterans....but the group who did this should have had signs or that military camouflage fencing to keep ALL out and from touching the jeeps...my kids got OFF told me and I took pictures of the group and the WHITE kids who jumped BACK on the jeeps and started having fun pretending to drive and shoot the WEAPONS that were bolted on the BACK of the jeeps....it left a sour taste in our day....i could tell my kids were hurt by THAT experience I am sure that was the first time for them but told them it WONT be the LAST and told THEM that if they ever run into Herman Cain who is the radio WSB750 AM STATION HERE IN ATLANTA who said racism does not exist because he never went looking for it.....to tell Herman Cain that you never have to look for racist people somehow they find you and let you know it in one way or another....and those jerks in the pictures with the blue t-shirt were the racist ONES....God Bless America..will not be going BACK...

Even if you arent a pilot you should check them out. They a truly an amazing group of people that accomplish some amazing things. No parts for a WWII airplane...no problem, they figure it out and get the job done. Check out the collection of planes and join the great people to help keep em flying!

What a fantastic opportunity to get up close with famous warbirds like the P-51 Mustang and F4U Corsair. I got to walk around and touch them, and talk with some of the CAF folks that maintain them. A fun and unique experience for anyone interested in WWII and/or aircraft in general. Ive started saving up to take a ride in the Mustang, Red Nose.

Wow, the quality of the aircraft and there restoration was unbelievable. This is by far the best thing we did on vacation. I was blown away and cant wait to go back because I just couldnt take it all in at one time. The work this shop does is just top notch and that doesnt describe how good the work everyone in the shop and office do.

Just visited the Commemorative Air Force Dixie Wing with my 2 kids. Everyone was so nice, welcoming, and informative! It is run by a collection of aerospace enthusiasts whom most volunteer their time caring for the planes, which despite being over half a century old appeared very well maintained, and I was told still all fly! Truet was our tour guide. His knowledge was boundless. He gave us up close looks at the planes within their hangers, some of which were old war planes. My 2 yr old was amazed at being so close to the planes - it’s all she talked about for days afterwards. This is definitely a must see place for anyone with children interested in aviation, or for the adult looking for a bit of WW2 history.

My family and I had a great time. I wish they had more hands on activities for the little kids. Like have a contest on the best drawing and coloring picture of an airplane and who ever wins can get a stuffed toy or something that the kids would enjoy. Other activities that has to do with airplanes and WWll. It could get the kids involved and enjoy events like the airshow.

Well worth a visit !!! You could not imagine more open, helpful and friendly people, every single one of them a real enthusiast and willing to share this enthusiasm. I was a bit disappointed when I turned up ( unannounced I must add) for a ride in the PT but it was dismantled for maintenance. When, after a while, I finally decided to spend the extra money on a ride in the Texan, the pilot, who was nearly home from a previous ride, actually turned his car around and drove the 45 mins back to allow the visitor from Europe (me) his ride in the Texan. I am forever gratetful ! The best money I ever spent, something any plane-lover should do (at least) once in his lifetime . Thanks again to all those wonderful and hospitable people ! I am sorry I could not stay longer . One advice to the budding passenger : call ahead first to check if the plane you want a ride in is available.
