We were looking for paintings related to dancing for our dance studio. Karin was very accommodating. We are now very happy to expose her paintings in our studio. The dancers love them!
I have found Gallery Karin Carton to be dishonest and unprofessional and I discourage others from doing business with them. This spring I applied for an educational scholarship given out by Gallery Karin Carton. Out of hundreds of applicants they awarded me with the scholarship to help me pursue my MFA. In April I spoke twice on the phone with Yann Hoyau who does marketing for the gallery and he told me he would call the school to make the scholarship payment. I gave him all of the necessary information.Recently I reached out to Karin because the payment was never made. She said she would not be following through with the promised scholarship. She would not have told me if I didnt persistently ask her. She gave me no explanation. I am disheartened and feel deceived. I wasted a lot of time both applying and chasing down answers. I think the disrespect Karin has shown me as an emerging artist speaks to her character both as a person and a business in the arts industry. The lack of integrity and display of phony philanthropy is a red flag, in my opinion.
