Its a really beautiful place for a calm summer evening. Water is so clean that you can clearly see the bottom of the lake. Its about.7 mile in diameter. So its good for nice stroll.

Quiet place off a small pond, fishing can be done there. Some light flat trails. Not a lot of bells and whistles but a great place to catch a a little outside action and not a bad place a smoke a cigar!!

This is a great place to meditate in tbe afternoons.bring your music blanket or chair. ENJOY NATURE

Its a perfect place to take a short break and react on the day.Everytime I drive thru the area. Maybe 5-6 a year? Just lets me reflect and observe the seasone.Kind of loud from the 294 but ehhhh still glad to have a spot like that to stop by.There is always someone fishing which is nice to see.

Cook county forest preserves are an escape from the big city. Great biking and hiking trails. Read about the history of these areas and how they came to be. We are fortunate to have these preserves.

This place is so nice and so relaxed zzz Lake View is excellent in the morning. Specially when is foggy outside ... Sometimes you can be lucky to meet the ducks up there :-) and feed them ...

Nice clean place to fish or walk. Muddy at certain spots. Plenty of parking.

The scenery is beautiful, especially sitting next to the pond. Makes you feel like youre outside Chicagoland. Lots of trees to sit under to grab some shade of desired.

A good spot for family and kids okay

A.little confusing as I believe it has different names depending on where you park. Same as Axehead Lake? Decent for dog walking on leash. Near Des Plaines river trail but area has yet another name on the east side. Dont know if fishing is any good - not of interest. I do like when there are miniature sailboats sometimes in the summer.

This is a lovely lake in a very serene spot. Very quiet and beautiful. I only wish there was a path all the way around to walk/run and a bench or two.

Nice place to walk to Axhead Lake is the lake has toilet and picnic facilities and also the Des Plaines River Trail is close by.

I purchased a Permit online for Chippewa Woods but i am confused as to which grove i can set up at.

Nice hiking & horse paths near & on the Des Plaines River. Downside is its the muddiest extension of the Des Plaines River Trail.
