Love this place, great place to bring family to the beach or just to go out and observe nature right near town. The park is a great place to go for a beach run or just run the roads. Should you run or walk from the pier to the jetties and back it is just under 2 miles. If you are camping or have the annual pass you are given codes to access toe park 24/7. My wife and I frequent walk on the beach or go out on the pier late in the evening.Last night we went on a wonderful walk on the beach at near midnight. The moon was nearly full and it glistened on the waves as they rolled in over the sand. The deer in the park are not real shy, they are use to vehicles and are protected here. It is said that you can feed them right from your car. People say the deer will take peanuts right out of their hands. Not an action that I recommend as it is illegal from what I understand. Alligators are also present in the park. There is a boardwalk that takes you right out to the edge of the lake where they like to stay. There is also a huge variety of birds should you be into bird watching. The big drawback is the park is not real friendly to dogs. It seems as if you want to bring your dog there are more places dogs are not allowed than where they are allowed.
This was a great place to wade in the calm clear water and find nice shells! The sand in the inlet was soft and somewhat powder-like.When taking the walk to the gulf side, tender feet beware. There are a LOT of rough spots with broken shells (some are complete) but definitely wear flip-flops. Then on the gulf side, enjoy the beautiful view and the waves rolling in!Last but certainly not least...the emerald water on the pier! We just so happened to catch a manta ray swooping around near the pier and shore! So beautiful!!!
So many shells and star fish, pretty flowers, butterflies, exotic trees, hermit crabs and great people. It was a great all day experience. Take a lunch and be prepared to stay the day. It was $8 for the car, and we parked a few different places with 1 mile between many features first parking lot to jetty and jetty to kayak launch. Walking was nice to take it all in. See some pictures!
A super great park. The entrance fee keeps out some of the riff Raff so it allows you to enjoy yourself on a less crowded beach. The jetties allow for some good surfing when other places are blown out, and the other side of the jetties are good for snorkeling. Also, the peer provides a free shade device. ️
Love the untouched atmosphere of St. Andrews. No high-rises, no restaurants. It almost feels like youre escaping to a different place altogether. Beautiful water, lovely sand dunes, quiet beauty. Totally worth the $8 entrance fee.
This is a very well maintained park. The gazebos and commons areas were well kept. I was really impressed by the cleanliness. The beaches are nice as well. It was $8 per carload for admission. You can enjoy the wildlife, the natural scenery, walk the pier, or enjoy the beach. The sand dunes are off limits.
A beautiful park thats clean, and has loads to do for the whole family. Camping, small hiking trails, a great place to scuba dive and snorkel. Lots of good fishing from the jetty rocks or the small pier they have. On good days you will fined surfers taking to the waves. Not to for get this place the sea life here is incredible and your likely to see a few dolphins and they even have a gator pond.
We come here every time we vacation in Panama City Beach. Take a dolphin tour and you can jump right in and swim with dolphins and dive to find sand dollars and other sea creatures. Once we even saw a giant manta sting ray right next to the boat. Absolutely beautiful crystal clear water and powdery white sand. Can venture to the lake after swimming In the ocean and see alligators, deer and other wildlife. If you want a hidden paradise, this is it.
This place hasnt changed. Love visiting here!!! Going back again Sunday morning if weather is right. Little bit of everything to offer here with the outdoors and nature, amazing place for all ages
Just opened first section after hurricane. Great Ocean views from camp. Only 30 amp when other section is re-done hope for 50 amp. Great Pier for fishing. Beach access is assume. Have jetty area Great for snorkeling.. Other access is close to pier. Beautiful white sand. Both have great bathrooms at both beachs.
This place looked much different from the last time we visited. Weve always went out in the jetties but they were inaccessible this time. A lot of areas inaccessible. But beautiful!
$8 per vehicle. Great park for beach access that isnt too crowded. All the bathrooms are open as of June 2020. Some of the shops are not open, so call to check if you need to purchase things on site. there is a boat ramp, kayak ramp, and plenty of boardwalks, parking, pavilions, showers, bathrooms, grills, and beach access. There are even signs that warn Sand will not support vehicle for the tourists. Florida locals should know that they cant drive their vehicles on the sand dunes. This is also a good park for bird watching, deer sightings, and fishing.
The campgrounds were a little closer together than I expected...but otherwise everything was great! Could see the water from our site, atmosphere was very friendly and bathrooms were clean. The shower stalls were some of the nicest Ive seen at a campground
Took the baby, mommy and mother in law to the beach. Wasnt crowded at all due to occupancy control. Water was amazing and beautiful. Emerald green so easy to see the bottom and the fish. Went near the pier so we got to see people fishing and everybody just enjoying themselves. We had a great time. Baby enjoyed playing in the water and I was right there with her having fun and making memories. Definitely a great place to visit!!!
Beautiful beaches, clean restrooms. Beach access is well maintained. Some of the roads need a little help, but nothing too bad.
Lots of wildlife that didnt mind people being around. Saw 6 deer within 10mins. The swim area was also the best we have found in this area. Great for snorkeling, paddle boarding ect
Beautiful park and beach! Went on Sunday and arrived when it opened at 8:00am and stayed until about 1:00pm. $8 gate fee for the car was well worth it! Sugar sand beach, clear water and gentle surf! Only $20 to rent an umbrella and two chairs for the day. Not overly crowded like the beaches further west. Everyone weve dealt with down here has been super friendly!
Beautiful beaches for swimming and snorkeling. Rub your feet in the sand under the water to find sand dollars. Snap a pic and put them back. They have 2 piers. One on the ocean side and one on a Bayside. Very clean park.
Is to beautiful once you get there you dont want to leave. Beautiful beach ️
Go! Go! This billowing, beautiful 12K acre property is breathtaking! Nature and animals just being.... just go to St. Andrews - it is worth the trip!
Awesome place. Booked the ferry to Shell island but that didn’t run because it drizzled that morning. We were pretty annoyed. Lost 40 bucks because they didn’t feel like going outside that day. We decided to go to the park instead. It was awesome. Alligators, dolphins, deer, swimming, trails. Tons of stuff to do. Went to see the alligators then spent rest of the day at the beach. Saw a deer on the way out. Water is pretty clear- can easisly see 25 feet down. Saw some dolphins. Definitely will visit again. There is an alligator in that photo. Look hard.
Definitely recommend to visit! Great beach and jetties. I visited after a hurricane so part of the park was flooded and some boardwalks were closed due to damage. Saw a gator at the gator lake trail.
Great day for the beach.Water is beautiful here..nice and calm. Go to the jettys for snorkel and prepare yourself for the best sand ever. So soft.
One of my favorite beach spots. I love that there are 2 separate areas, one being more calm with less waves and one having lots of waves. It’s a bit of a walk from the lot to the car. There’s also lots of showers to rinse off.
Great escape from the touristy bustle of Panama City Beach. Good surfing beach on one side with a calm inlet on the other, everything you would want is here. We highly recommend the nature hikes.
We had a wonderful time during tropical storm Cristobal. There were a lot of surfers and the waves were beautiful. This public beach is so nice .
Nice place to ride bikes and golf carts. We camped at Panama city beach RV resort and would ride around in St. Andrews State Park. There was a lot of standing water in several of the camp sites. We love seeing deer wondering around. We saw a new born bambi. So cute. Cant wait to camp here. One of the volunteers told us that they were getting ready to renovate the camp sites and add full hook ups. We look forward to this. Cant wait to see the new look.
We had the best time. We rented a pontoon and saw all kinds wild life
Fun time for $8!!! We Looooved walking the little trail by the alligator lake. The beach and jetty were beautiful!! We enjoyed the pier too. A nice fisherman let my sonsee the fish he caught.
They are only allowing 50% of the parking availability in at any point. I went at 10:30 am on a Thursday and they were already at capacity. I went the next say at 9:30 am and barely made it before they started to turn cars away. Its worth visiting. The beach on the jetty side is as spectacular as some beaches Ive visited in the Caribbean.
I love this place. It can be great diving when the water is not blasted!
Amazing. Very private and clean. Beautiful and relaxing beach. We loved it.
Really fun day. Dive Locker did a great job. Perfect access for SCUBA diving training/certification. Yay
Was my favorite part of PCB and we come here every fall. Jetties... closed, pier...closed, over half of campground...closed. I understand the issues with weather and other circumstances but there is just no excuse for the mismanagement of such a gem. There has been more than enough time to correct these issues. The resident living quarters should be closed until everything else is back open.
If you go to PCB, this is a Must Stop/See location. I wish we hadve spent more time here than the beach in front of our condo. Its a great place to hunt for shells with your kids. My daughter, wife, and I had a great time. We found plenty of cool shells, and even a sea snail. Water is beautiful and relatively calm, making it a great place for kids.Theres also an opportunity to see a aligator. However, Ive been here numerous times, but have only seen 1 alligator. If youre lucky enough to see it, its a pretty neat experience.
Always a beauty. Some restoration work is being done from the hurricane. the cove which is sheltered is being dug out from all the sand pushed into it. Great place to take the kids for a day or a camping trip
The park is still partially flooded and none of the nature trails are open today. But this is still one of the most beautiful of Floridas State Parks. The dunes are juat breathtaking. State Park staff *and* concessionaires are so friendly!
Beautiful place to visit with family. Deers, birds ........beautiful views .if you love to see the sun set this is a perfect spot.
Beautiful jetty and refurbished beach sand. Facilities near jetty look new and very clean. Nice girl working entry gate about 1 p.m.
I’ve been going to the ST.ANDREWS STATE PARK EVERY SUMMER SINCE I WAS A BABY I NOW I GET TO TAKE MY DAUGHTER ITS A AWESOME FEELING ITS JUST HARD FOR ME TO EXPRESS THE FEELING I FEEL WHEN ITS TIME TO GO PCB SO HOPE EVERYONE ENJOYS THIS PICS AS MUCH I DO #SALTLIFE#PANAMACITYBEACHFLORIDA
Nice park to walk around in and go to the beach. Sometimes best place to go if there is a big event in town. Less crowded.
A real gem so close to the nose and lights of Fort Lauderdale. Great combination of ecosystems--swamp, bay, gulf--all rolled into one trip. Well worth the price of admission.
Definitely a must see its a very smalle park though it basically goes in a huge loop admission is $8 per vehicle Definitely worth going
The beach part is great, but the actual campground was disappointing. Hardly any privacy or separation between sites. Less than half of the campground was available due to damage from a hurricane that they have not yet restored. The site we booked was completely flooded. Nowhere to place a tent. We told the ranger and they put us only the only other available site and were told to take it or forfeit our money, no refunds. Super disappointed that they didnt call to let us know so we could have booked somewhere else since we drove 2.5 hours to get there. The site they gave us was also flooded except for a small gravel patch where we had to put the tent. It was saturated with fire ants. We were bitten so many times. Couldnt even use picnic table or sit out in our own chairs it was so bad. Doors always open to the bathrooms, so a lot of bugs and spiders. No running fans, so incredibly hot in there. Then we go to get firewood and they are out. None our entire stay. Ice water over double what it cost at the store so we left the campground to buy it elsewhere. PROS: The water was beautiful and we loved fishing off the jetties. The swimming area was nice. We will give it another try sometime, hopefully it these issues will be fixed.
Awesome place to relax and enjoy the scenery and wildlife!
Nice park . We loved the beaches. Went to shell island and found very little shells.
Proposed to my beautiful wife here and we are very fond of the area. Just took our first trip to Shell Island. It is really beautiful there and the shuttle ride was fun. Be sure to go before the dog flies come out! Those suckers bite bad. Anytime from spring until Sept is the best.
Love this place. Its still not back to pre-hurricane but still as beautiful as ever.
My family and I visited this park twice during our vacation. The beach is amazing. The water is beautifully clear and the jetty allows for both fishing and snorkeling. This should definitely be a stop for any visitor in the area.
Very fun park to visit with enough to do for as long as you wish. Saw some rays but missed the gators. Plenty of beach for some serious beach time.
The campground is not what it once was no tree no privacy it bad i live close by use to camp there at least 4 times a year is dint think i go back until it fully open but then i I have to see what done look like they are not in hurry to fix things.
It was beautiful.... Probably the nicest beach in Florida outside of the keys. Nice facilities... Not too busy ... Great experience
We visit this place everything we are in the area. Its a safe alternative to the open beaches. The jetty makes for calmer water and they also provide a home for a diverse little ecosystem with all kinds of small fish and crustaceans. We found it to be an even greater option this year as it is less populated than the beach at our hotel, we could easily observe social distancing guidelines
It was crowded for a state park, even though we visited here in the low season of January. There were tons of activities, varies from kayaking, canoeing, to camping, hiking, sightseeing, picnicking, and swimming. Great place for families. However, there were limited as for instances, the camping sites were completely packed, and the hiking trails were not so long.
Always something new to see and enjoy. Great for nature watching. Roads need to be replaced but otherwise, I love visiting.
The water here is pristine! A safe beach for kids since the waves are small. And if you want to snorkel by the rock jetties, the rocks are soft and there are no sea urchins, so you dont have to worry about getting hurt. We did see a jellyfish while snorkeling though.
Rented kayaks to kayak around Shell Island. It is an absolute blast! You need to get there early because it is first come, first served. Highly recommended!
Beautiful park. Very well maintained. You the shuttle to shell island for the day. Highly recommend it to anyone who hasnt been and is considering it.
They are busy busy, restoration of beach areas. The Jetty looks to be extended about 3X the distance out into gulf.Campground is never going to be same, almost no trees.
Fun place, beach was fairly nice but had some trash. Also it would be nice if they informed you what flags were up for swimmers when you are entering the park. We didnt find out there was a marine pest warning until after we paid and were almost to the water. All of the jellyfish kind of put a damper on the experience.
Did not bring my phone onto Shell Island ( but it was very beautiful and well worth going to and easily the best part of the park) but the whole St Andrews Park was very cool to see. The snorkeling is amazing if you’re into that sort of thing. The water on the gulf is also the perfect shade of clear blue water you’ve ever swam in ( which makes it perfect). If you’re in PCB you definitely need to make a day trip here.
Such a beautiful visit ....
Normally I would give this a 5 star review, but not this time. When entering the park they didnt tell people the water would look dirty/dark and not desirable to swim in, because of them dredging. Need to inform paying customers better. So ask when entering park if water is clear to swim in...very disappointed this trip
Love this place its beautiful
The water and sand was beautiful . It is well worth the $8. To walk on nice white clean sand to see the birds sun bathing, and walking on a private beach you cant say no, you are missing out on this hidden gem. Walk the pier oh my gracious beautiful, nice place for couples and families with children. I would highly recommend.you can rent boats, fish or just have a nice all day adventure at this park and enjoy a nice picnic.
Beautiful, rented a pontoon for the day and had an amazing experience on Shell Island and looking for sand dollars, the family running the boat rental kiosk were really nice!
Beautiful, enjoyable place to visit and swim! Things to do for all ages. Tons on wildlife, snakes, alligators, osprey, pelicans, blue heron, deer, dolphins and so much more. Theres a bird sanctuary and white and blue heron rookery.
Nice place that is more family oriented. They have a nice jetty and good place to snorkel here
Its a nice getaway from the resorts on front beach road. Shell Island has beautiful water when hurricane season isnt upon you. Its worth the 26 dollars if you want to snorkel or kayak. $20 for adults $12.95 for the kiddos.
We love visiting this state park. From the swimming to the animals its an absolutely beautiful place. Check out the shell island shuttle or relax on the beach!
Well taken care of national treasure. Its clean and jaw droppingly beautiful. Do take the Shell Island ferry...its exellent value bring your own food and drink there are no facilities of any kind.
Beautiful place for hiking, you can rent kayaks or boats and visit shell Island.
1st time here! Was absolutely amazed! Its so beautiful and to see the wildlife just makes me want to come back again! The beaches were gorgeous, many sea shells, paddle boarders and saw a few people in scuba gear! Im coming back in September and do it again!!
Beautiful place for kids, totally worth the day use of 8 bucks a car...
This place was extremely beautiful. My husband and I watched the sunset from what felt like our own private beach as there wasnt many people around. We stayed in Destin but drove out to Panama city just to see this place and its a must see! You will love it.
Great place to take 8yr and 10yr old boys snorkeling and shell hunting. The little fish are plentiful to see and explore. We enjoyed it as a good family day. Just bring shade and drinks and food
Beautiful park. Saw lots of deer. They are doing dredging work so some of beaches is sectioned off.great spots to view sunsets and aee lots of boats.
Nice Park with excellent facilities. A very nice beach on top of all of it.
Love this park, great location on the shore, saw deer several times, close to stores
Park is awesome! 8$ entry but then you get full access to land areas, beach area or dock. Camp volunteers are pretty great, full of info and very helpful.
Had lots of fun here! A day well spent.
Came here as a kid, now I can bring my daughter every year. She LOVED IT. gorgeous water. not crowded, limiting capacity july 2020. still beautiful even after hurricane Michael a couple years back.
Beautiful park. We rented a pontoon boat at the marina and headed to shell Island. The area is absolutely beautiful. I found a starfish, sea urchins and tons of hermit crabs. I played with all of them then put them all back for the next visitor. There are also sand dollars in the shallow sand bars. This was the highlight of our time in Panama City Beach. I highly recommend this Adventure .
Very nice place to spend the day. The beach is great, with withe sand and clean water. Lots of wildlife. The amenities need some work, it looks like it is still under repair.
Weve been coming to PCB and St. Andrews State Park our whole lives. In fact I was 6 months old the first time I came! Im 33 and married with 3 kids (6yrs, 4yrs, 2yrs) plus one on the way. Our trip never disappoints. Every time we come down we rent a pontoon boat for the day and it is always our favorite day. We always get way too much sun so bring lots of rash guards and sun block.bwe bring a cooler with food and lots of drinks. Staying hydrated is essential. We see dolphins, starfish, sea turtles, even sharks. Snorkeling by the rocks is really neat, too, just dont climb on them. Theyre dangerous and slippery! This trip a man was trying to grab some water bottles someone else had left and he sliced his foot open. He was able to get over to where i was and he had a deep 3 inch laceration that was bleeding a lot. I didnt have anything on me in way of a first aid kit so I grabbed a clean diaper of my two year olds and we were able to clean it up and wrap a clean diaper around his foot. He had to go get stitches. Really dont recommend climbing on those rocks! Whatever you decide to do, you cant go wrong. Just be safe and enjoy
Some of the trails were closed due to hurricanes. But otherwise nice. Did see 2 alligators. Cool!!
Very nice park...loved watching from the observation decks and seeing the dunes. The park rangers and personnel were very informative!
We expected more damage from the hurricane but the beach looks AMAZING! We will be staying closer to this side, on our next trip down! Saw a couple of stingrays, and the water was so clear. We loved it the entire time we were there!
Very pretty, employees were helpful and knowledgeable. The umbrella rental man was awesome!! He offered for our 5 month old grand baby to sit under one of his umbrellas since it was so hot. Thank you umbrella guy!!
Beautiful even with all of the construction going on right now after Hurricane Michael. Lots of spots to pull over for photos besides the beach. :)
Absolutely beautiful. We saw a dolphin, sting ray, baby alligator. Def my best beach experience
It was beautiful out there. Very peaceful
The park had a lot of damage as a result of hurricane Michael (cat 5) which took most of the trees away. Other than missing the shade St.Andrews state park is one of the best parks in the state. Friendly staff great nature walks. Just simply beautiful.
The game warden was upset because I wanted to pay for the fairy with cash. Told me I had to leave and pay with card online then he would let me in the park. The park was nice probably not going to shell island again. Not any nicer than the beach by the pier. Save your money
Beautiful beach with very easy access and nice facilities for camping and hanging by the shore. Theres a snack shop, bathrooms, showers, a shuttle, access to dolphin cruises, etc. The beach itself has sugar-fine white sand, clear, aqua-colored waters, and shallow entry. Theres also a rock jetty with decent snorkeling.
Beautiful and peaceful place to take your family. So many activities from fishing, walking trails and swimming, its great family fun!
Nice park. Had the opportunity to see several animals even if most of the trails are closed.
Absolutely love this state park! One of my favorite places to visit while in PCB. The views are amazing and the water is usually beautiful. Lots of wildlife to see roaming free as well. Definitely a must see location!
What a great park. It looks so natural. The parking and other facilities are like they should be in a State Park. The beaches are fine. Easy to keep an eye on little children in the undeep water, and a bit further away good opportunities for snorkeling.
