Alto Swim Club is a top choice for competitive swim team as well as swim lessons. It is lead by highly professional and expert individuals. Every encounter and experience with this club has been posh. The staff are highly skilled and passionate coaches. This club is growing every day and the coaches strive to deliver the best to their team. The community that has been built around Alto Swim Club is also one of a kind.
We joined Alto swim club in Aug 2018 and everyone has been welcoming and kind from the coaches, swimmers and their families. The coaches are very supportive and respect each swimmers! It was a great positive environment for my daughter. She loves her team mates and coaches! She finally felt how to be in the “team”.If you are looking for a swim club that is close knit and everyone just look out for each other, this is your team!Just sad that we had to leave due to relocating. Alto has became our second home/family and will never forget all the wonderful people in the team!Thank you so much Alto! See you on the deck!
LOVE Alto Swim Club! The coaches are so encouraging to the swimmers and genuinely so willing to step in and help them. Would recommend this club to any one searching... you wont regret it! Coach Sarah is such a gem and the kids absolutely love her too!
Alto Swim Club is undoubtedly the best local year around swimming team, 100%! My two boys were with this program for more than 8 years. They progressed through group 1, group 2, junior and national competitive levels. Laura and Joey were strong leaders, passionate and patient coaches. Joey spent a lot of his personal time working closely with swimmers to advance their training. We are super grateful for what the kids have achieved both in the swimming pool and outside. Swimming with a club like Alto Swim taught the kids discipline, time management, commitment, friendship and team work.+1000 from an appreciative parent, very excited for future Alto swimmers.
My two oldest kids joined Alto Swim Club last summer, starting with the clubs summer swim program, and now with the clubs competitive swim teams. The clubs approach is first-rate, with a big focus on developing not only a childs swimming ability, but also their sense of responsibility and teamwork. When my kids first joined, they were only casually interested in swimming, but Ive seen a dramatic change in their attitude towards learning and swim practice over the past year, primarily due to the friendships that theyve developed, and their desire to continue to improve. The coaches are very caring and let the kids develop at their own pace, but what I really like about the club is the level of professionalism and high standards that they place on swimming performance, and the clubs perception of kids as young athletes
The coaches are knowledgeable. We did private lessons and made a lot of progress in 2 weeks. I like the format of having the same coach for 4 days in a row, you can make improvements and build day to day. We will definitely be back to take more lessons this summer.
One of the best swim clubs in the country. Outstanding choice for competitive athletes who aspire to college and Olympic careers or for kids who just want to get in shape, develop discipline, learn to swim and have fun. Truly a big time program with a family atmosphere.Adding a second part to the review. My youngest child tried the new water polo conditioning program and was able to drop his 200M free about seven seconds. Particularly in the developmental years (10U to 14U), it is a great way to build the physical abilities and stamina that the players will need in Junior Olympics, ODP, high school and beyond. Highly recommended as a supplement to the regular water polo practices.
Alto is the top swim club in the area, owned, run, and staffed by top-notch coaches. It welcomes every level of swimmer, from beginner to world class athlete, and draws serious swimmers from around the Bay Area, and beyond. Alto produces strong swimmers, confident competitors, committed athletes, and disciplined people who understand how to apply the confidence, commitment, and discipline they learn in the pool to other areas of their lives. When the coaches say their focus is on development of the whole person, they really mean it.Young children who start off on one of the Alto teams will learn to swim well and be confident in the water. They will learn the basics of competition at fun events like candy meets. They will be taught how to set goals and how to work to achieve these goals in a step-by-step manner that produces actual results. They are trained to be responsible and independent – to show up on time, remember their swim bags, treat each other with respect. Parents learn the ropes alongside the children, so if you are not a swimmer – or an athlete of any kind – it doesn’t matter: you can trust the coaches to teach your children well.As children grow in the program and enter the higher-level groups, they learn to support and compete against each other with equal passion. They race against each other fiercely and applaud each other’s victories just as fiercely; they not only know their own times by heart, but those of their teammates. The goals they seek to achieve become ever more incremental – you don’t easily drop time when you are already swimming at a high level - but they work doubly hard to attain them. Swimmers on the National Group travel about 50 days a year – I have no worries about my children handling themselves when they go off to college because they have already learned how to conduct themselves away from home through travel meets, which are strictly run and allow for no transgressions. My two children have grown up in Alto (and its predecessor club) over the past decade; by the time they go off to college, they will have spent more of their formative years at Alto than at any school. The confidence, discipline, compassion, and core values they have learned through swimming with this team, and being instructed and guided by its coaches, will be of benefit to them for the rest of their lives. Go Alto!
Awesome team! Great swimming environment and a great way to improve technique and endurance.
I have two children who have been swimming with ALTO (formally PASA) for over 16 years collectively as both competitive team members and for swim and stroke lessons. Coach Laura Mitchell gave my son, Dylan his first lesson; today, he is on the age group competitive team. My daughter is a passionate high school-aged swimmer who has risen up through the program and now is on the National team. What I love about Coach Joey Sementelli, Coach Laura, and the rest of the ALTO coaches is that they not only teach strong swimming fundamentals for proper technique, but they teach life-lessons like character, pride, dedication, teamwork, responsibility, attitude, and handling disappointments. This program has had an incredible impact on who my children are as people, not just as athletes.
Coach Sarah is the best! She is so energetic and makes swimming fun!
We love Alto Swim Club. Our daughter has been on their swim team since 2013.Laura and Joey are excellent coaches - very detailed oriented, very organized, very patient. They care for how you swim but more importantly how you feel as you navigate through incorporating new skills as you progress up the levels. The program is awesome - besides solid swimming technique, they work on the mind as much as the body. Very disciplined and structure approach.Best of the facilities - Avery, PALY High and JLS are some of the sites we have been at. All top notch. They foster health competition. Friends compete as well as watch out and cheer for each other. They form friendships that will last a lifetime. They teach you to value time i.e. be on time and making the best of every millisecond!!Lots of life lessons in addition to swimming.
Amazing swim team that grows with every change!
