Nice course. Had some bare spots to deal with, but. Over all I had a good time and its a fun place to play.

Well, that wasnt great. I played this course a couple years ago, and I remember it being in great condition. That was not the case today. The fairways had a lot of crabgrass and each one of the greens had problems. There is lots of construction at the entrance ( a new Publix ) and its a bit confusing trying to get to the golf. This course has a great signature hole with #9. Really a fun hole. Im not blaming the course, but the main lake had a ton of fish kills and the smell was horrible. This could be a a really fun course again with some TLC.

Challenging course was first time playing here. Will never forget it because of whole 17 par three I got my first hole in one. Noah the owner took the time to come and ask us how the round went and talked for a little while. Will definitely be back.

Played their on Tuesday 5/12/2020 only disappointing thing was that in there bathrooms there was no soap to wash hands with. Also when we started the first 6 holes they had nothing to stop the balls from going all the way in the hole. Had to take flag out!! Not what their web site stated. Nice course

The course is good but no washrooms for women, clubhouse closed so closest washroom is 5th hole... unacceptable

Played today 11/6 and the course is in fantastic shape. The greens were rolling smooth and pure. Tees and fairways were in very good shape as well. Get out there and play it before the snowbirds take over !!

Played here 3 days after the tropical storm and was amazed at the wonderful shape the course was in.

Nice place. However the roads in and out are in need of major changes. The roads are not updated to handle the growth in the area. Road is so badly in need of repairs that serious potential for damage to vehicles and tires is real.

They have noT Made any investment in cart paths s they are full of holes everywhere. The clubhouse business systems are in IT nightmare, they have to register your full name and email address and each time you order something like a drink they have to pull out their laptop and have your full name again?? To get a bottle of water at the turn they read direct you back around to the front of the building through the pro shop to get your drink instead of through the back doors to the restaurant bar.

A great place to get away and play 18 holes of golf!!!!!

The bar is the only place to get something to eat and they have one women doing everything, it took 30 minutes to get a sandwich and it took 2:30 hrs to play 9 holes. golf was cheaper than other courses but the sandwich was expensive.

Great deal for a par 72 on GolfNow. Conditions were poor around the greens.I understand the greens and fairways were recently aerated. However, the conditions surrounding the greens weren’t true “roughs”. There were tall tufts of grass all around, as if no mowing had happened for a week.Fairways are a great layout, but many dirt patches.Approaches to the greens were non existent. If you like to drop the ball in front a little short and hop and roll up, forget it. Super tall and thick on the approach. I don’t know if that’s intentional or just neglect.Nice soft bunkers. Very soft, in fact.Great staff and great restaurant and bar. Super menu!I’ll return if conditions change.

You can tell that someone is taking great care of this course, and is really interested in bringing it back to life. Played today (April 18) and the greens were immaculate, some of the best and most consistent I have seen. The fairways and tee boxes are in great shape too. The rough is pretty standard for the area, and can be sparse around some of the old growth trees, but if you are playing down the middle you wont be disappointed.The clubhouse is nice, and the bar is beautiful and inviting. Pricing was very reasonable for both the round (under $50) and the refreshments. I didnt try the food, but I expect if they put as much thought into it as the rebuild of the course itself, it will be great.Overall, I thought the value for money was exceptional compared to similar offerings in the area. Will definitely play again.

I played golf there this past week while on vacation. The course was in great shape and the food in the restaurant was excellent. I got the grouper wrap and it was perfection. Billy did a terrific job in the kitchen and Michele was running the bar and also did a terrific job

One of the Tampa Bays best kept secrets. Challenging course for all levels of playing ability. Scenic views and good pace of play. Great value for the $$.

Plush fairways. Smooth greens. Great layout. Excellent food. Friendly and Accommodating staff. An accurate description of why Im giving a 5 star rating. Ive been lucky enough to play the majority of the public golf courses from North Port to Ocala and The MOC is in my top 5. I will be back very soon.

This was my first time playing the course. I found the tees, fairways and greens to be in good shape. There was some repairs going on with the greens but all were playable and I found them very nice. The course is certainly challenging for those of us that dont always hit the ball straight. I still consider myself a beginner and as such, enjoyed the course and the nice mix of par 3, 4 and 5 holes. I look forward to playing the course again.

First tee time, got to the back 9, they triple booked the course. We were told that we could wait an hour and a half to play our back nine..... Or play the first nine immediately.... For 50 bucks a head I expect a great deal more...

My partner and I are amazed at the turnaround this course has made in the time of new ownership. You can tell that the owners love what they do. We have played a handful of times since it reopened in the beginning of the year and have absolutely no complaints. We highly recommended this course for its great layout, greens and fairways. The restaurant is also a very nice hang out. Low key, relaxing and nice menu. We will continue supporting our local club and recommend to anyone thats looking for a new spot.

I was very disappointed with the condition of this golf course. Ive been playing three times a week exploring the different courses in my area. This is the furthest Ive traveled from Sarasota and my expectations were high. Unfortunately they were not met by this less than par Golf Course. The cart paths are all torn up. The greens are spotty and most are under repair. The fairways were tight but most are in decent shape. With the exception of the steaks at 150 and 100 yardage markers were hard to come by. The carts did not have GPS. The Aquatic driving range has two square floating docks marked at 100 and 200 yards so its difficult to dial in your irons. The practice green is basically flat and there is no chipping area. The only real highlight that I found at this course was the clubhouse and the accommodating staff Within.

Course was in decent shape after much rain. Four holes were cart path only.Several areas of cart paths were very flooded. Many of the fairways were very squishy. I stepped in a hidden puddle on one fairway and got a foot soaked.It deserved perhaps 3.5 stars, not quite 4 stars.

Really liked playing this course. For the most part it’s in decent shape, a couple of the greens need some work but in time this will be one of the best courses in the area.

Booked a tee time through GolfNow on 6/25/19 for 4:00PM. When I arrived the owner informed me he was closing the course so they could water it... are you serious??? I got no call from the course to notify me I wasn’t going to be able to play. Not only that, the owner told me he called GolfNow and cancelled my reservation with them. After personally speaking with GolfNow on the phone, it turns out that was a complete lie. They never called to cancel the reservation. Now I have to keep calling back until GolfNow can get ahold of the course so I can get my refund. Horrible way to run a business....Online it says they are open till 6PM but they close shop at 4PM. Course won’t last long with those business practices....good luck.

My husband and I planned an event there for about 40 people. Trying to come up with a food menu for that many people can be a little stressful but the owner was very helpful and sat with us for awhile and helped us come up with the perfect menu. Everyone enjoyed it. The food was excellent. I highly recommend The wings! The staff and bartenders were on top of everything. Everyone there was so friendly. We walked out that day very happy.

Played the course yesterday. The greens are in awesome shpe and were consistent from green to green. The fairways were in very good shape. The tee boxes are a work in progress, but I can live with that. Our foursome were all impressed with how far the course has come and will be back. Looking forward to next time. A New Publix Done Right.

My understanding is that theyre trying to turn this place around so we gave it a shot. The good - the greens were in great shape, pretty quick too. The bad- the rest of the course is in pretty rough shape - Im guessing the transition from cooler to hotter weather is tough on the grass but yeah, some of the tee boxes were pretty much dirt. Also, when we tried to get something to eat in the clubhouse at the turn around 2:30 - we were told there was one hotdog and one ham sandwich left.....too bad there was 4 of us. I like the layout of the course and you cant expect something to turn around without support so Ill be back....but, theres a lot of options out there so things will have to improve.

I hadnt played the course in a while because it had been in such bad shape. I decided to play Friday and I was very impressed. Even with all the rain we gotten the course was in great shape. I will be going back!

Played this course a couple of weeks ago and was very disappointed. Was bragging about it to my playing partners who had never played it. When it was Imperial Lakes it was one of the nicer courses in the area. Hadnt played it for a few years but was anxious to get back to it after the new owners and some improvements. Greens were fair, nothing to brag about, fairways were a little better but if you got off them the rough was not golf course grass, just weeds. Wont be going back anytime soon and not allowed to pick courses for my group! Shame, such a nice layout.

A good layout but the lack of recent rain made the fairways a bit sparse and the greens too hard to make a shot stick.On the plus side the greens putted very smoothly and pretty fast.I will visit again in the fall when it might be playing softer.

Bouncing back nicely after new ownership. Its nice to see this course looking green and rolling true. Always one of my favorite local courses.

They talk a good game on improvements but there is little improvement over Imperial Lakes, the previous owners. Lots of hard pan to carry your ball into the lakes. Greens are fair but still need work. Most courses in area provide water and ice, not here. Ball cleaners that I tried were dry. Tee boxes in really bad shape and all cart paths need work. Even the entrance on road to course needs sprucing up. Prices too high for this course condition.

This course has come a long way in 2 years! It was a cow pasture 2 years ago and now it is rapidly developing into a quality course the is in great condition. If you played it in the past and weren’t happy, I would highly recommend you try it again as I am you will be shocked at the excellent improvements!

Played the course today. The greens are in good condition but extremely slow and inconsistent. The tees are in good condition, the fairways are reasonable but the rough had many bare spots and the traps are terrible with grass growing in some. The course was understandably wet. The day started poorly when they told me that I couldnt walk because the course was crowded. We had 3 three sums in our group and I was in the last group. I told them I wouldnt hold up the course. He checked with the owner and then told me that I could walk but I had to pay for a cart. Unbelievable! I will not play this course again.

Great value for the money. Over-seeding has worked wonders. 99% better than previous years. Holes 1, 2, 4 and super tough starting holes. #18 is great par 5. Greens are still a little slow and faster greens would be an improvement. Mark

I really, really hope this golf course is successful. The guy who runs the course busts his butt and is very nice. The problem that I have is the course is just not in great shape. In fairness, they are going through renovations.The rough in some places (right of first tee) is crazy long. Do not hit it in there. The fairways are bald in places. The greens are pretty good although slow when we played it (but was probably due to copious amounts of rain that week). The aprons around the greens are being re-done so expect them to be a little rough. I reserve my harshest criticism for the tee boxes. When I had my ball teed up the grass was about the same height on some tees. Again, maybe that was due to the rain and they were unable to be cut but nonetheless it made teeing off on some holes very difficult. Lastly, there are some tees that have been moved way up (par 3 on back nine) where the normal distance is 160-170 and it was playing about 110.Again....I really hope the golf course is successful and I will come back and play it again but it needs a little more work

The greens looked terrible. Not sure whats going on with them. Theres still more work to do with the whole course in general. Its going to be a challenge though, because were in season until April I always liked the course layout. Ill come back in a month or two, see if there is any improvement to the course.Came back again 3/16. The greens are terrible. No improvement in maintaining them. Some to me look like their going to lose them.Might have redo all the greens. Will be back in the summer. Charging $50+ is a little much for poor course conditions

Good prices

The course itself is in decent shape but it seems that the day to day is very unorganized. The front lot is currently a construction zone and it doesnt give the greatest first impression. We booked on T-Time and when we went to check in the staff was befuddled by this. They rushed us onto the course, which was an adventure to find the first tee box due to no clear layout and a lack of signs. Our T time was for noon and when we got to the starter it was 1150ish, he then gruffly explained he has been waiting on us, haha we were early. The course itself was either in poor or fair shape, depending on the hole. Traffic cones around freshly dug holes was seen more than once. The greens rolled true, if a bit slow. We played on a monday and had the landscapers following us for the first three holes, we later encountered a tractor stuck in the water, while still running, next to a green. I think this course may be worth the money next year, after all the kinks have been worked out.

The truth is the moccasin golf course is not a five or four star course. I cant figure out where or how they get rave reviews (?). I played it on a hot deal and enjoyed my day, but the course conditions were comparable to a manatee Muni. The claim of bad weather or previous owners neglect is old hat, the course needs a good amount of work (other courses had the same weather and have held up quite well ). Many / most times I look forward to going back to a course Ive played for the first time, the moc Im not so sure . I guess I dont like fake reviews and disengenuous comments . If you go, enjoy your day, but dont have high expectations .

Played the course today. Fairways in great condition. Rough was shaggy-needed work. Greens were sanded after aeration. They should be pretty good after some time. I felt the course needed more water stations. Owner said coolers couldnt be used because of germs? Bar area is beautiful! Such a nice upgrade. Hot dog was included in the golf fee. Nice. New owners seem to be headed in the right direction.

On the website this course is named as one of the best in Florida. Thats not true! After having played 18 courses during our vacation I have to say that it is one of the badest courses we ever played in the last years. Very disappointing.The greenfee of 70$ for two is too much for these conditions and the staff was very unfriendly. They couldnt give me a receipt for my creditcard paying, wanted to have my e-mail-adress to send the receipt to me. But I never got it. Well never play that course again.

Greens are good the rest of course looks like no one has taken care of it in 20 years. Pace of play was a disaster. Went to bar after round of golf 545 ordered second round of drinks 615. Told we had to lea e they were closing. As we were kicked out waited in parking lot for our ride home, 4 separate cars came in for dinner and doors were locked. Terrible business. I think the owner was more focused on eating his cupcakes then running a business. Dnt waste your time here

This golf club has the potential to be something special. Noah and family have totally re-done almost everything inside and out. The greens are fantastic and the tees and fairways are not far behind. The clubhouse is home to the Moc Bar & Grill, great place to relax, eat, drink, watch tv and enjoy the scenery. Nice place, amazing what they’ve done!

Only reason I give it a 2 is because Ive always liked the layout .. other then that very disappointed!!! Heard about all the renovations and how nice it was, well greens were over seeded and sandy, around the greens was nothing but weeds and dirt, and the tee boxes were horrible... I was expecting much better, not worth the $40, will not be back..

I couldnt disagree more with the comments below. There were no cars coming for dinner. I happened to be there as my golf cart had broken down. Not only did the owner Noah Zelnick help me and try to tow me home but when we had difficulty doing this he called his head greenskeeper to come and help. Neither of them got home before 8pm. That is service and dedication and what makes a business stand out in my opinion.Anyone who knows the golf business knows that when there are no customers and it is a week day it is time to close and let your staff go home.I have never seen Noah turn a paying customer away nor have i seen anything but the best service.Where else could you find an owner who would stay with a stranded golfer and make sure he gets home.On another occasion where a golfer came from another neighborhood with his cart and broke down Noah towed him several miles home. Good luck finding this anywhere.As for the course anyone who saw the course a year or two ago knows the improvements. There has been constant improvements.The comment below is not only without merit it is false and misleading. There is way too much finger pointing and not near enough integrity today.Maybe next time you will call your ride earlier or drive yourself so you do not expect everyone else to wait on you to leave.Just my opinion, but I would not pass up playing here because of the comments below!!!!!

We had an amazing time! The greens are very well maintained and the food at the clubhouse was delicious. The staff was informative and on top of everything. We plan on making the trip again next weekend.

Visited this golf course for a charity tournament. I cant golf to save my life but had a great time. The course was well maintained and staff was very accommodating.

Nice place. Decent food. Starters are a little bit on the grumpy side. Went to get a ball out of the lake and starter came by and was telling us to keep it moving even though there was not a soul on the hole behind us.

Loved the experience ! Greens prefect ! . Fairways almost prefect . They are still working on the course, but I have no doubt it will soon be the best value around ... Cant wait until I play there again... Loved it !

I was trying to find out about having a banquet there for my Mom who is turning 80. They put me through to the golf shop to further direct me. They didnt seem very helpful. Patty is the person I needed and said she was busy both times. They took my name and number and gave me her email address which I verified through the website. I called and emailed twice with no response back. Guess they dont want my business. It would have been perfect there since my mom lives on the third hole. They just dont care.

My husband and went over to get a burger and beer one evening last week. The hours posted on the website state open until 8pm. We pulled into the lot at 7:22pm and walked up to the door. A lady locked the door just as we reached it. I know she saw us. Embarrassing. We will try again after the sting wears off a bit.

This course is wonderfully rehabed by former Golf Pro and Owner Noah Zelnik.These guys put alot of $$$ and work into the course and the clubhouse. The greens are one of the best in Tampa bay area.Weeks ago we had a ProAm Tournament here.The professional staff is continuing improving the course in a professional manor.Its an honor to live on this top class course and to see how things unfold here!We enjoy riding up to the clubhouse with our cart for a bite to eat and a cool beer.Keep up the good work......

I just saw on a Facebook post the owner of this course and an employee disrespected a paying customer. They were very unprofessional and do not take criticism well. They attacked the customer about his work and also leaked his personal information from his reservation. They do not have good customer service by seeing how they attacked a customer for stating his opinion on the course that is under extreme construction and should wait until finished to reopen. Please learn how to run your business in a professional manner and take the constructive criticism to improve your course and business. Thank you and God bless!
