Manatee School For the Arts

Here Is my review on Manatee school for the Arts, I attended this school for three years now this school was already unorganized from the jump start, but my last year here, oh they really deserved there reward for being unorganized...first of all they will not care about your children people!! I skipped school for a whole two weeks and they did not notify my mother one time I was not In school. So there for If you bring your child here they could skip many days and you will be unaware, my mother found out at 2/1 weeks later, out of all my teachers only one called. So I come back to school for a couple of days here and there and then I just never show up again, so the last week of school one of my elective teachers call my mom asking about my camera. My camera, not even about my well being. Are you kidding me? My mom explains to this man why I’ve been gone and he has the audacity to say..”I never even realize she was skipping” Are you kidding me I haven’t showed up to this man’s class almost for three weeks and my absences weren’t even being reported, you got to be kidding me, parents do not bring your children to this lazy backyard charter school. If y’all really care about your kids well being bring them somewhere better than this place. Another way this school Is so unorganized and careless they lose people stuff and claim they never received It, so one of my very good friends come to this school in the beginning of the year from the D.R (AKA Dominican Republic) so my friend attend school In the D.R so she gives the school her transcript and guess what these people did, lost her transcript and claimed “they never received it” so my friend that was supposed to be in 11th grade Is placed in 10 grade. How lazy and unprofessional. Please don’t bring your children to this lazy unprofessional school, IF you care about your child.

Disorganized Admin staff. Rude. Disrespectful to students and parents. They refuse to listen to anyone. They have borderline corporal punishment for detention (force kids to sit in a way that is not ergonomically correct for an hour; causes him pain) Teachers are rude and have no respect for children. My son complains about being mistreated days on end. No respect for people that have any shortfalls on their learning. Son needs extra help sometimes and has to beg to get it. Teachers are always too busy. Never get a one-on-one with any of his teachers. They rarely answer emails or return calls. Make it so hard for parents to be involved or help with the childs learning.

Im able to be who I wana be. They accept who you are and what you like to do. Our school has many different artistic academics for people to start a career in. We have 4 classes a day, its realy helpful for students because it means NO HOMEWORK! Also its a better way to keep organized!I love to attend here every day, Monday-Friday. Its fun! Also the teachers here love what they are doing!

This school was good once upon a time and now theyre going downhill by being really strict. I feel like they need to waste more money on things that are actually necessary. The bus system this year sucks I dont get home til like 6. They really need to give us more time to eat lunch cause its been chaotic.

Really the school is pretty good. But it wastes is money on stuff it shouldnt for example the houses behind the school. we need to focus on more important matter like the food the students eat, and the technology we use in school. new instruments for the music department would be great too. the silent guitars break constently.

I go to this school and it is awesome but the buses are filled to the rim so you better hope your not a bus rider if you plan on going here also just some news: only about 300 kids can be accepted for 6th grade

10 out of 10 would do again... this is a great school all good classes. Yes some teachers are not the best but overall really great school. what school has all good teachers

As a student at MSA I can say this is definitely not the right school for some people. More than half of this school is LGBT. A lot of the kids here have mental struggles or are just problem kids. If youre LGBT or artsy and outgoing I would definitely recommend this school, but if not I would not suggest you enrolling here. This school has helped me realize who I am identity wise. I have made some amazingly supportive loving friends here; although, some of the staff can be biased and unsupportive. Im not saying all staff is, but some is. Student Support isnt supportive. If youre sent to student support you will be in trouble . Thats all okay byeee

Toured MSA with my Daughter at their open house last week. She is in 5th Grade and loves Art of Every type!! She would be perfect for this school, Im hoping she will be accepted!! She deserves a place to prosper like this!!! She loved everything about MSA the School, the Programs, the Teachers and just the General atmosphere!!! She was so excited when we were there!!

Im sorry to disagree with the original post but I went to this school for seven years and I never had a problem with it except for a few teachers, who were let go because parents were proactive and said something about them enough for the school to see the problem. I think the school had/has great things to offer, like accelerated classes, smaller academic class sizes, and the school doesnt, or at least didnt, put up with anyone who didnt take pride in the school. I never understood why I would hear kids complain about the school, you arent FORCED to go there....go to one of the public schools if you dont like it.

So, the school is pretty decent. I guess I should start by introducing myself.“I’m Rick Harrison and this is my pawn shop. I work here with my old man and my son, Big Hoss. Everything in here has a story and a price. If I learned anything in these 23 years, its that you never know whats gonna walk through that door.

This school is awesome. The staff is so kind and loving, they really care for their students. But like any other school it has it flaws. The bus system needs improvement but is bearable. The prices are manageable. It has amazing electives, a wonderful assortment of music, art, digital art, physical education, languages, and dance. The have a wide range of clubs ASL, German, Manga, Film, etc. Thatll look amazing on your resumé. In this school your kids can be whoever they want without judgement. This school has a wonderful, respectful community. As I said earlier there are flaws and room for improvement.

Look behind you, its msa. come in straight and graduates gay. Not a safe enviroment. Disrespectful staff. Overpriced uniforms. Referalls for nothing.

I want to be very clear in this, originally I gave it 1 star. Which is honestly what I thought the school deserved. However most(if not all) real issues are non existent. The food. While it may be slightly overpriced. Is WAY better. The busses. Should be way better. The system needs work, and yes, is quite frankly terrible.The staff. While slightly disorganized last year, are definitely better this year, take the time and talk to them. They do a lot that you dont even know about. Theyre not biased in any way, because theres no way they could hold a job that way. Ive had my fair share with some of the issues, but everyones had issues at every school. Theres also a ton of kids, so for parents complaining about the extra attention their kids need, the school can only do so much in classes with 20+ kids. The teachers still have to also grade papers,and spend time out of their day making sure their lesson plan can fit most if not all students so they understand. Imagine sitting for hours, every day, grading hundreds of papers, making a useable lesson, and still have time with your own family. Theres no need to complain in a review if its obviously not doing anything. Contact the school. Give constructive criticism, it does more than you realize.

School for the most part is okay not the best teachers are strict like crazy they allow you to hold hands but not hug but you may use your phone during lunch but after lunch if you walk with it out you will get in trouble it is not like a normal high school if your looking for your child to go to home coming foot ball games and etc this would not be the choice school for you if you prefer the arts then this would be the ideal school for you sorry to say I will not be staying here all four years I plan to transfer next semester thank god .

I feel like every school has their share of bad teachers but for me there were way less than youd expect. and I wouldnt even call them bad. other than the few teachers I found less than ideal, MSA is honestly one of the best and most accepting schools I have ever been too. People always find little things to criticize Msa for, but for me that school holds nothing but good memories. I did not attend this past year and will not be attending this next year and that fills me with nothing but sadness. Msa is and forever will always be some of the best years of my life. The Teachers were wonderful, and the students were almost always accepting. I know that Msa deserves five stars. This school has been nothing but good to me and my friends who also attend. If I could I would give it more than five stars.

Im a student at the school I love it dont get me wrong but like the teachers are nice but some dont really care and the bathroom for 7 and 8th grade sucks and the food there sucks and like we cant wear whatever we want which sucks because it an art school and like we cant show artistic by clothes which sucks and the school is soooo unorganized and they care more about the electives then anything but the good thing is I love dance but I care more about education then the electives I would recommend other schools then here dont get me wrong but its my opinion and I like the school in ways for the electives but I want more education so thats my opinion

You couldnt pay me to go back to this school. I spent five months here, and that was five months I should have spent at Bayshore. The teachers are politically biased, the administration is some of the most disorganized Ive ever seen, the lunch is horrid, and the school taught me nothing useful. Sports are next to non-existent because theyre too competitive, so dont even think about coming here to join any sport. Just run back to Bayshore, Manatee high, wherever. Dont make the mistake I did.What kind of art school claims they want students to explore individualism, but then requires a uniform?

I love the dance department and the people that go there mostly everyone gets along!

This school is absolute trash. theres so many furries and weebs. honestly this school hasnt taught me anything but how to make it look like my shirts tucked in. they dont care about the students at all besides heat. administration and alot of staff here discriminate on gay kids and anyone of a different skin color than them . the teachers here are rarely certified for their jobs and it makes no sense how a weather man is a science teacher. honestly worst school ive been to. rating 10/10 dumb weebs.

Didnt tell us the TRUTH about bussing situation. Dan who is in charge of Transportation for bussing children cant even call us back. I called school and basically nothing is going to be done about our childs bussing issue. Thanks for lieing about the whole situation. We thought this was a good school but when your lied too and no one cares

There arent many lolis here, and theres alot of traps, I dont mind the traps, but one keeps calling me a fegg, so I get sad, This school has way too many weebs and naruto wannabees who dont even watch the best anime, cory in the house. I think my waifu, papi-chan doesnt respect my rights when I go here, either that or she keeps forgetting who I am.... Either Way, Not enough anime or Harambe. Also, Brendan Fraiser Has the hardest body out there... Just thought I should let you know.

I’m going to 6th grade next year, but I’m seeing a lot of bad reviews, should I go here? I already put an application in. I don’t know if I’m accepted or not, but I hope I see more reviews to help me decide

My daughter started MSA in the 6th grade, now going into 11th. The teachers make all the difference no matter what school your child attends. MSA has been a great school for my daughter over all. Many elective classes teach her life skills that I know will help her in the future. I would recommend MSA!

Okay but has better electives than other schools

Its my third year at this school, and I hate it. I dont recommend going to this school if you dont already. The teachers seem to only care about themselves, (at least some of the ones I have), the administration is disorganized, the school as a whole is disorganized, there are too many students here, and the administration only seem to care about Heat. I seriously cannot wait until I leave this school.
