Ive filmed a few things here in the past few months and the owner has been very accommodating. Beautiful venue! Hopefully they will be able to open back up again soon!
Had dinner for Christmas eve. Liked the decor. They had a pianist and drummer playing during dinner. Wish they had played more Christmas songs. Dinner was pre fixed. Decent selections. I started with the pumpkin soup. Was very good, the bacon added a nice flavor. My entree was the chicken. Was dry and overcooked. Cane with a apricot topping. A little too sweet. My girlfriend had the salmon. Said it was good. Finished with the pumpkin cheesecake. It was pretty good. Overall a nice evening.
The place is downstairs - very modern and posh, quite different that the other places in LA around.
I was torn between 4 and 5 stars, settled on 5 because the things that are good about it are great the things I thought could have better were still pretty good. The drinks were some of the best made I have ever had. The atmosphere and intimate space made the show much more enjoyable than a large venue (although I am not a huge jazz fan....it was jazz that night and I assume by the decor, it is jazz night a lot). The part that could have been better, the food. While it was very good, for the price it should have been better. If you can afford to become a regular, this might be your favorite place.
Virus or not, these people are cooking! We did Take-Out. Outstanding! The food was fabulous, delivered hot at curbside. Recommend it highly. Terrific value. Two full dinners $49 for both. Wow.
Went with my friend and co worker Thia and had a great time. The stuffed mushroom appetizers were fantastic. The cocktail shrimp were incredibly Huge and the waiter was Great since he recommended the appetizers. The Magaritas were cool too. Went on a Tuesday at 4-6 is the Happy Hour with Live entertainment. Small but quaint go there with a girl friend or a spouse not good for large groups.
We know why this place is rated #1 in Palm Springs. We celebrated out 10th wedding anniversary here and it was perfect. The staff and management were fantastic. Wally took care of us from start to finish. The food was fantastic. Jalapeno Dip and the Sausage Pasta were terrific. And the best part is the live music. This venue is one of the original places where the Rat Pack played. We had our kids with us and they loved every minute of it. We will definitely be back.
A magical place. Prompt flawless service. Exceptional cocktails. Have to admit the tomato bisque tasted like marina sauce, but I love eating marina by itself. Entrees were great. We had the privilege of seeing Keisha D,. What a show, a beautiful singer who knows how to handle an audience.
Loved the retro throwback to the sixties! The area and club gives off a cool vibe! The Judy Show was the best. Great music, singing, comedy, and even better improvisation and impersonations. The place was booked solid but my dear wifes timing was impeccable and she managed to take advantage of a cancellation. That put us up front center stage! Loved it darling!!
The Purple Room dinner menu had a lot of choices, which was almost too many. The risotto I ordered was okay, but not what I expected. The rice was too thick instead of creamy. Everyone else enjoyed their meals. The Judy Show Christmas special with Michael Holmes was very entertaining, and hes a does all the character voices and singing himself.Stephen and I felt the show was little slow to start with alcohol and Rx drug use becoming sad more then funny, but it really took off when she came back on stage as another celebrity. I gave it 4-stars as the cover and dinner was a little pricey without many lower priced options.Overall great entertainment and fun evening, and we had a wonderful time with our friends.
Wonderful dinner club. Food is excellent. Service was a bit slow but not bad. Entertainment, Rose Mallet was top-notch. Wonderful voice and was nice enough to take pictures with us after the show.
Very fun place! Location is somewhat hidden by the Big Saguaro hotel. Entrance is around back and inside the building. Happy Hour had started 45 minutes before we arrived and the place was already hopping. The main dinner stage area was totally reserved, but we were able to get a table bordering the bar and the dining area. Bar side very noisy.Purple Room was celebrating 6th anniversary of new opening. In addition to regular menu, they offered Fixed Menu with delicious pairings. I opted for the purple pair salad with pecans and goat cheese as an opener. My entree was the herb, grilled pork loin which had a cooked apple chutney that was so delicious; meat was very tender. This was served with perfectly cooked, fresh green beans and roasted peanut potatoes...some also purple. The dessert was molten chocolate cake with ice cream and a glass of prosecco! All that, for $39, a big savings over the regular menu and a bargain for such a scrumptious feast! The entertainment was a male / female singers, sometimes solo, sometimes duet, featuring songs by the Rat Pack. Voices blended well and they brought back lots of the old favorites and the feeling of a glamarous past. It was an enjoyable show. The service was excellent from the host to the wait staff and bartender. I will go again!
Such wonderful entertainment in a fabulous venue. Is a must for everyone visiting Palm Springs. Are different performances every night of the week. The food is top notch and I had one of the most flavorful an interesting drinks then Ive had ever in the valley.
One of my favorite places to have a fun evening in the desert! Top notch entertainment, wonderful ambience, and good food. There’s a reason it’s always packed!
Saw to Judy Show very funny reminds me of the old drag shows I used to love back in the day. Dinner was excellent service was outstanding. Planning on taking friends when they come to town.
Excellent ambience, friendly and attentive staff and exceptional entertainment. The absolute best venue in Palm Springs for a wonderful evening with friends. You need look no further than the Purple Room.
Great place, step back into the supper club era, like it was with Old Blue Eyes and Dino.Great food, service and awesome entertainment!
Beautiful place, good food and great talent but you are disrespectful to the singers by having such horrible sound system!!! Ms Keisha D should be so mad about it. Shes so wonderful. Definitely worth it even with such a horrible sound. Please update your sound system Purple Room !!!
Michael Holmes seated us and Heather served us. Both of them were delightful. The food and bev were very good. The performer, Lillias White, put on a generous, beautifully sung and very funny set. The Purple Room never disappoints.
Great music venue cum supper restaurant. Very Rat Pack vibe - not surprising as the Rat Pack used to frequent the club. The food was decent, but not spectacular... They would be better served by serving the classics. The soup of the day was a honeydew and cucumber gazpacho... And tasted of neither.
Walked in for happy hour, the host was so rude and wouldn’t even allow us to enter for a drink at the bar because we didn’t take a reservation! We only wanted a drink at the bar and not attending a show... we were looking forward to this and so disappointed not to be allowed in for one stinking drink!!’ BOOOO PUPLE ROOM
Surprisingly good food! And the show we watched was much better than we had expected. Really great place, we will definitely be coming back.
Thanksgiving dinner, background music, great food and service. Best of all, no clean up. Will return to check out dinner shows!
Wonderful cocktails!Best Happy Hour in the desert.Fabulous music too.
Awesome libations, good food, great service all round. Fantastic show, youll laugh even if you dont get the references.
The food outstanding, and SHARON WAS AMAZING love her very much . was are first time and hope we can go back .
An iconic club with a history of the original and only Rat Pack performed in. Fantastic food service
Perfect for a special occasion or date. Wonderful entertainment options. Great food, stellar service.
Intimate with a nod to its famous past, the Purple Room is a great go-to place to take out of town visitors or, as a local, just enjoy a night of music with a fun cocktail and delish meal. Im a stalwort fan of the Judy Show (all of our guests have loved the show, including my mother in-law who giggled throughout) and have been loving their recently added Bourbon Excursions! Theyve made some good changes to the main dining area (moving the sound booth from sight lines) and adding screens to the back area where you can see the entertainment, but still carry on a conversation. They continue to host incredible entertainment and I cannot say enough about the chef who has fully embraced his promotion to the top spot. Not to be missed!
Terrific lounge acts, delicious dining and bar service. This place makes a visit to Palm Springs complete. Theres a little something for everyone.
I came here on a Saturday night for my friends birthday. Firstly, I love the theme! Circus? Yes please :) It was a great place with friendly and helpful staff and good drinks. While I was there, I had the strawberry basil martini and peach perfect. Also had a taste of the 1921 honey (yum!) and the lychee martini (it was good but not quite to my taste). It wasnt too busy when I was there, but I expect it must have a really good vibe when its full of people.
Stopped in here and had a great time with my buddy and Ana was our server. Great lady and great suggestions. Food was very good and drinks were fabulous. Good spot and will certainly return.
Good food find great entertainment. A cozy place to spend an evening.
VERY NICE PLACE/PEOPLE/STAFF!!!This was my FIRST TIME there...I LOVED IT!!!Rose Mallett was FANTASTIC!!!SHOUT OUT to Daniel, David, and the rest of the Purple Room Staff!!!And, to my new friends, Donna and Steve...Such a pleasure meeting you guys!!!If youre ever in the Area, I urge you to go check this place out!!!
Great evening for more senior patrons. Food and service were high quality. Entertainment was very enjoyable in a relatively intimate venue and featured standards and oldies. This would be 5 stars but the headliner was Ill and the happy hour singer filled in. She was quite capable and professional but not the artist we came to see.
Fun retro place with good food & excellent bartenders ! Loved it...
Great dinner theaters and drinksThe Judy Show was spectacular. So talented
The food was marvelous the servers were friendly and efficient and Michael Holmes was a wonderful host.
There is going out for dinner and then there is having an experience you will not forget. The purple Room falls into the unforgettable category. Palm Springs is known as the birthplace of the rat pack and the purple Room is where they got their start. Now owned by a semi retired singer who peers weekly with guest this is something not to be missed if you are a fan of not just fine dining but of class entertainment that is sadly a memory in most towns. It was in just the fact that you can hear Sinatra songs and Dean Martin songs etc but the way they were performed with the style and the press analogy that brings you right back to Vegas on a smaller scale was simply magic.
Come ready to enjoy the very talented Judy and guests...but remember youre not in Kansas anymore...a night of classy fun Palm Springs style.
Great NY jazz club vibe from back in the day. Rose and the band on Tuesday night are terrific. Get there between 6:30 and 7pm for best energy in room. After 8 it starts to empty out.
Looks like a old dive motel on the outside but its a diamond in the rough!!! Exceeded expectations. Ask Woden for the best recommendations and town secrets
Very good food, atmosphere, and entertainment! Lovely Thanksgiving dinner!
A dream evening, service was perfect! Staff very kind and attentive. Food was delicious, Trish Hatley and Phil trio was a delight. Eager to return. Highly recommend.Grace Henderson
A true mid-century Palm Springs experience, a good ole fashion Supper Club. We had such a great time enjoying cocktails, listening to GREAT jazz and finally enjoying a terrific dinner! The Purple Room has great ambience that must be reminiscent of days gone by when guests and entertainers were Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr., Frank Sinatra and the like. We were treated to a terrific show starring Linda Lavine! She was fabulous!I would highly recommend a stop here for anyone looking for a true Palm Springs experience.
We had a wonderful time at Purple . The food was delicious and hot. Our waiter was attentive and efficient. We stayed for the legends show. It was entertaining and fun. Highly recommend
An old fashioned Palm Springs supper club. Michael Holmes does the Judy show which is excellent. They have entertainment there I think almost every night. Great atmosphere and good entertainment.
What a great place to spend an evening! Great food, excellent service. We had classic sidecars which were perfect. A small venvue, all the seats in the dining room are really good.
Great entertainment and very good food.
Awesome happy hour. Get there early as you will be asked to leave around 545 to accommodate the 6pm show crowed who paid for the seats around the bar. Awesome staff and customers. Super friendly. Will return.
Loved the ambiance. Food was food and enjoyed the show even more.
Awesome! Bartenders were fantastic...... We will definately be back!
It was actually a very enjoyable evening. Had a wonderful dinner, great service and the entertainment was excellent. There is different entertainment every night. It is a small Supper Club. It was where Frankie would have stopped by to sing a tune. I plan to go back when we go to the desert. Make a reservation, as there is limited seating. A large U shaped bar has seating as well.
Came to see the Amy Winehouse experience. So amazing!! Loved the purple room. Great bar food and the entertainment was fantastic. Nice fun place .
Great entertainment and a cool atmosphere. Great cocktails and a nice dinner menu. Tables are small and you sit in close proximity to other tables, but the vibe is great and intimate.
Fun. Delicious food, great entertainment. We will be back!
Fabulous experience started with the person who helped with our reservation and just got better and better. Youll have a wonderful evening out at the Purple Room! Really good food, fun, great jazz.
Delicious food, generous adult beverages, nice cozy atmosphere, enjoyable entertainment.. We enjoyed Wednesday night Rat Pack. Wish there was better parking though. Only street parking here. We will return!
Great food, fun,entertainment, good service.
Brought my mom out tonight to the Elvis Tribute. The staff were wonderful the show was GREAT.I felt compelled to write a review as there was a miserable miserable woman at the show that I think will write a nasty review. Unfortunately the washroom had some mechanical issues just as the show started. The staff stopped the show to apologize and announced to go to the front desk to use a washroom. They opened a hotel room and had several staff directing guests to the washroom. When I went to use the washroom there was a woman being so so rude to the owner and making a scene. It was clear she was looking for a free meal. The owner called a plumber as soon as there was an issue and was trying his best to accomadate guests. He was gracious and patient with this “monster” of a woman. Thank you for a wonderful night out with my mama. From the moment I called to make a reservation to the time our ride came to pick us I was impressed.
Great service. Dinner was excellent. The show beyond words... Outstanding
This was a great experience. Plan ahead for reservations its tough to get in. The tables are close together but the entertainment can make you forget it all. I love the history of this place.
Go here before you head somewhere for dinner. Or, go here after work. Or, for some of you, go here before work.I was there on a Saturday at like 7pm, we got some seats, our table ordered everything from Sauv Blanc to Moscow Mules to the Topsy....and we all liked what we had. Great bartender- she could handle the orders pretty fast and had a great personality. Youll like the funkiness here.
The ambiance was spectacular, the food fantastic and the music perfect!
Tuesday nights are wonderful with the jazz artist Rose Mallett while having all evening long happy hour. A real throwback to the rat pack nightclub scene. Loved it. Service was impeccable and attentive. Food was pretty ordinary and bland.
Great retro vibe with excellent food and fun shows!
Great show! Great food! Lovely service! We all had a wonderful time.
This was a great experience from start to finish. Very attentive staff, delicious food and a really entertaining show after dinner. I will definitely return next time Im in Palm Springs.
Great dinner theater/ cabaret. Good food, drinks, and good ti great performers!
We enjoy a visit here each time we are in The Palm Springs area. Menu is adequate and theres always some good jazz music.
Fantastic: Food, service,ambiance- and Black Market Trust were incredible! Highly recommend.
My husband and I were on vacation and dined here. We were greeted by friendly, high energy gentleman. Our waiter was friendly and prompt with service. Food and drinks were great. Entertainment was wonderful. Decor was romantic..we will visit again! Amazing place! We had a fabulous time. Thank you Purple Room!
Great place. Worth a visit any day of the year for the atmosphere. Food was probably the worst ever.
Great entertainment, friendly people and good food.
Known to be where the original rat pack hung out! Its small and intimate. It is a dinner and show venue. You can do both or skip the dinner and just watch the entertainment. Most nights it is jazz. I highly recommend Sunday which is the only night Michael Holmes performs. He impersonates Judy Garland, Pearl Bailey, Bette Davis (my favorite) and it is funny!
Fun in old time PS, nightclub...
Good food, but go for the Judy Show.
Ambiance was great! Jazz night - definitely worth a visit! But - just go here for drinks!! Food is the worst we have had in the US - ever!! They couldn’t even make us a crème brûlé... it was vanilla sauce for $10 and nothing else.
Saw The Black Market Trust here and they were incredible. The food was good too.
My first time there, food was great, service was great, entertainment was fantastic, and i will return!!!!
I cannot say enough good about the service and the food - drinks are good too. The Judy show was beyond good and ultra funny!
If you are there for a show, as I was you dont want to sit behind the bar, as I was. They have video monitors for the view obstructed by the bar but you cant hear the performers. This disconnect causes the patrons in the rear to talk more during the show as they dont feel a part of it.The food is good but the portions are paltry for the price. For example, I ordered the $10 chocolate lava cake for dessert and that thing was the size of a ramekin that the ranch dressing for our wings came in. The scoop of icecream that accompanied the cake was the size of a melon ball.I appreciate the nightly entertainment and understand the the cant give away the farm but when 2 people can spend $50 on a couple of apps 1 beer, an ice tea, and 1 dessert one would expect to at least be a little full, not the case.
Happy Hour Tuesday Night at the Purple Room. Shared a simple meal of small plates with my friend Jai. Mac and cheese, Planko coated Avocado and a Wedge Salad. Dinner for two at the Bar. The band played Jazz my favorite Genre of music from the 40-60’s.
5 people (ages 35 to 69) went to the Judy Show on Sunday, May 31 and I had to write a review. Not knowing what we were going to see or what to expect, we went with light hearts and just wanted some fun. We had a ball, we laughed so hard because not only was Michael (Judy) absolutely delightful, spontaneous, witty and talented, we had a great audience laughing harder than we did! It was wonderful. The room was small and intimate, the food was good, our waiter was attentive and the show was fantastic. We not only will make the Purple Room a regular stop when we are in the area, but highly recommend it for anyone who is looking for a fun evening.
Attended a birthday celebration with a group of girlfriends. Called ahead and specifically asked about the atmosphere and we were told it was lively and loud. We were singing and moving to the beat, feeling the music without being obnoxious. We were offended when the hostess came over and told us we were being too loud and we are only to clap after each song. Definitely not the loud and lively experience we had in mind. Ended up leaving.
Great happy hour with entertainment and good dinner shows
Fantastic show and Greek food.
Great place to sit at the bar, enjoy a cocktail and listen to some nostalgic music. Great Palm Springs vibe!
The quesadilla was fantastic. The Fun house has a great vibe and the waitress Pouran was super nice! Everyone else seemed to enjoy their drinks and the music was super good. There was also a good amount of seating for a bar inMI cant wait to come again!
Good food and bar. Sound system is geared for an elderly crowd, so bring ear buds to decrease the volume or sit towards the back.Live entertainment is usually great. Its a small space so be sure to book reservations early as tables go quick on popular nights anf weekends.I gave 3 stars because of service. I akways feel rushed here, like the wait staff wants you to order to go or something....If you go solo, grab a seat at tye bar facing the stage...good place to see the show and not worry about wait staff, bartenders are great and pour generously.
Saw the Judy Garland show, it was a lot of fun, definitely worth it to see. Ford was good and drinks were tasty
