Very very poor conditions today. I won’t play here again. WORSE YET! I called yesterday and asked about the poor reviews on the web. I was lied too by the lady in the pro shop who said “the course was in very good condition”... Anything to get business. Ruined our day...

Course is in bad shape. Once upon a time this was a nice course. But now it has become very poorly maintained. The greens are the worst I have ever seen and believe me I am an avid golfer.

The course was in very bad condition bad Fairways and greens dont know if I will ever return there very bad experience I hope that you guys can get your course back on track. I never putted on greens that have bunkers.

I’ve played some not-so-great courses but this one is the WORST. The greens are unplayable and the entire course is unkept and junky. I will never play here again and don’t recommend it for anyone. Don’t waste your money.

Don’t waste your money here! It’s not worth the frustration due to the very poor condition of the course. Fairway has random patches of long grass. The greens are atrocious!!! They have piles of sand on them, weeds on them, the grass is long. This course feels like you are just playing in your backyard. There are so many other great courses near Tarpon Woods, I don’t even know how this place stays in business.

Not even worth one star! Played there yesterday in a foursome and we were all appalled at the condition of this course. Jan Stephenson, you should be embarrassed to be associated with this place. I have not played on a worse course here in Florida. No grass on tee blocks. Very little grass on diseased greens. Just a disgrace.

The course is in extremely bad condition with lots of deferred maintenance. There are nany other courses in the area that are better vakurs.. zDespite the low cost and interesting holes, I would advise you to play elsewhere.

The greens are horrible, mostly mud. No business charging $46 to play. Highway robbery!

This has to be one of the worst golf courses. Went yesterday . Back nine closed, front nine should have been. Most of the greens just weeds and sand, much like the fairways....... Needs a lot of work.... will not be back anytime soon....... Need to find a better keeper. Hope they are looking for one......Jan has a lot of work to do here..

Another ABSOLUTELY AMAZING visit!! After seeing shellfish nachos on the menu and seeing pics others have posted, I was on a mission to try them, so stopped in after a day of racing at Tampa Downs. After reviewing the menu (and paring my list down to 5 things), I decided on the Triple Shellfish Nachos Ive had at the top of my list for a few weeks. THESE ARE BETTER THAN YOU CAN IMAGINE! Plenty of lobster, crab, and shrimp, and as I dug in, I unexpectedly hit the piping hot smoked gouda cheese amazing goo that is my new addiction! And the double-meat lobster roll, OMG! All this food and drinks, and cant beat the price! Got pics this time, but not after big eyes got the best of us as usual, and we had already started in, but you can see by the pics there is plenty of food! Put this place at the top of your list, it is absolutely phenomenal! Kudos again Wood and staff, front to back! Love you guys!

Course closes at 5, on weekdays? Restaurant opens at 3 pm, really great food and service. Course might be under renovation, greens and tee box sand on most front nine, saw turkey and deer, two spike bucks!!

Course was fun to play and challenging with a really nice layout. Lots of trees and water. Overall in okay shape, except for the greens which are mostly in poor condition. Restaurant was good.

Overall decent track, however the greens are in awful shape. We played the front 9 and all but 2 greens were completely burnt out with little to no grass. The fairways were actually in better shape than the green. Have played this track for the past 6 years and this was the worst condition I’ve seen it.

Course is in much better condition than I remember it. I always loved the layout of that course, but a few the greens could still be a little bit better. Good experience though.

First time here,it looked like he grounds crew(if any) was on strike. The group to really rough and ready with patches and most of them. The course look like at one time and had potential that they just like the maintenance to keep it up. Can be a great course to play with natural settings maintenance is definitely required.

I called ahead to ask about the greens and...they were much worse than described. There is not a single green that could be considered good and the majority were horrid. Some were completely free of grass and just sand. I really think this course should be closed until they have it playable. At least be honest if a paying customer inquires about conditions. I will not be back.

Worse golf course Ive ever played, everything needs lots of work. Will not return anytime soon. Put something ($) back into the course.

I have to laugh at reviews about food...................this is a GOLF COURSE !!!Played this nice course yesterday with fifteen of my buddies, we all had comments about the VERY poor greens, hope this gets through to the grounds keeper.

I had been told the course was not in good shape. I was pleasantly surprised! The greens were in awesome shape and rolling fast. The fairways were great. The range was nice. The clerk was a little overwhelmed because the course was very busy.I would definitely recommend this course. Challenging course. I will be back soon to play.

We had 4 discount passes But they wouldnt honor or even work with us on a discount.Jan has good reputation but she needs to get a handle on her bad employees. Embarrasing excuse for a golf course. Slow play, horrible greens, horrible fairways, horrible tee boxes. We won a round for a 4some and it wasn’t even worth the money in gas to drive here.will never be back.

What a difference a year makes! Course is so much better than a year ago. Nice staff. Club house is clean and affordable. Plus the raise money for veterans..... Ill be back

Starting people off the back nine at 10:30 in the morning. Made are day very slow after the turn.

Compared to 2 years ago, the course is in good shape. Played here 3 times now over the past 4 weeks with 3 different 4somes. New ownership has done a great job turning this course around. Also, as a Veteran, I appreciate the Foundation that Jan has set up. Keep up the great work. Also, thanks Matt for the good customer service

Worth playing. I had crossed this off my play list several years ago due to poor conditions. Played today based upon a friends recommendation and boy have things changed. Greens were in good shape and roll true. fairways and tee boxes were fine. A good layout and improving under new ownership.

It was a nice golf course fair ways where nice and the greens needed some work.But over all it was a great course.

Really like this course. We will be putting into our monthly rotation. Friendly people at desk. And course has a lot of character. Pleasant visually. Plays well.

Staff and food was great!! The course is in good shape just a few greens with issues but all the courses are that way.

The Crooked Wood is the new public restaurant in the Clubhouse and definitely worth a visit! A fun place full of TVS, Happy Hour and a nice menu with different specials daily. Three of us had the special of 5 chicken wings with Mac and Cheese. The chicken wings were huge plus a large portion of Mac and Cheese. Our other friend had the Kobe burger and it was cooked per ordered and yummy. Easy location for those of us in East Lake, Ridgemoor, Landsbrook and Tarpon Woods areas.

Greens are in terrible shape. good place to practice your drive and iron game, but not putting

Very nice layout. The course was just purchased by a new group. The work that was accomplished since November has changed the course condition very well. A lot of work is being done at present. The new owners will have it on top soon.

Excellent condition (greens, fairways & tee boxes) compared to just a few years back when I swore I would never return. This is now one of Pinellas Countys best - BRAVO to owners... they also donate portion of proceeds to great organization who help Military children.

The course has made a dramatic turn around from last season. The greens are in great condition, fairways and tees, amazing! You need to see it for yourself!

Greens are in really good shape. Fairways are improved and continue to get better. Former LPGA star and owner Jan Stephenson is hands on and you will most likely see her.

Loved it course was in best shape it has been in years. It reminded me of how nice it was 10-12years ago. Hope they keep up the maintenance.

Find somewhere else to play. If you enjoy an over priced 6 hour round of golf, poorly maintained course, mud bunkers, sandy tee boxes, and rude shop attendants then this is the course for you. I tried this course for the first time and decided to leave after 9 agonizing holes. The only good thing about the day was the weather. Bunkers were basiclly dirt. Some of the tee boxes looked like a hog ripped them up and were just weeds and sand, But the main gripe is the pace of play. It took 3 hours to play the front 9 after which we decided to call it quits when we looked at the 10th hole and see 3 groups waiting to tee off. When we asked the lady in the shop if we could just pay for 9 holes and refund the remainder we were looked at as though we were crazy for asking. Then went on to make it out as our fault for not calling into the clubhouse to complain so she can send out a ranger. She then went on to tell us how 3 hrs is acceptable and that all she could do was issue us a rain check. No thanks!

A nice little break last weekend. Cold beer, great club, and the Guest services were very kind.

Course layout is good. Could use some more maintenance on the off Fairway areas.

The new owner Jan Stephenson has resurrected this golf course. New carts, good fairways and nice greens. Will be back again soon.

Massively improved since my last round there a few years ago. All greens and fairways were in good healthy condition. The BeefoBradys bar attached needs work though.

The course is not in playable shape. The greens and tee boxes rarely had grass. So disappointed. The good thing was there was nobody in front of us. Further there was nobody behind us. I may go buy a bag of grass seed and drop it off.

Unfortunately couldnt practice today cause it was getting hosed to rejuvenate but drove brand new carts today...gas ones. Got corrected for getting too close to the moonscaped greens and was watered down in the middle of 3 fairways! However, Getting better under new management, check back on the posts soon

First time there and the debit machine did not work. It took all my cash to pay (I was lucky to have enough with me). The greens are pretty sad and the fairways on the first nine had a lot of debris on them. There are no maps anywhere to show where you are aiming and measurements appear to be really off from the tee boxes to the greens when you read from the score card. The carts appear to be new and were clean. Im not sure I would return.

It is in so much better shape then it has been in years the grounds crew is doing a wonderful job they should be recognized it needs a little bit more work but it is getting there

The golf course has definitely improved looks wise but the management still has a lot of room for improvement which has made my family and I choose to spend our money else wise.

Greens were terrific. 4 hour round. Good value.

Fairways were nice.Almost every green was terrible.not worth putting on and playing at this time.The Lady in the pro shop was nice and friendly.Its a nice track,just stay away until they can fix the greens..

Complained about foursome in three carts playing very slowly. Had course backed up. No ranger came out.

The course is in good condition. Tees are not fairways and greens are. Have played there many times down thru the years, had some misgivings from reading reviews, glad I went and will go back. If they keep the rates reasonable no reason not to play there.

After playing three other courses here in Florida I was very happy to find TW. The older reviews should be eliminated. The course is in the best shape of any of the four I have played over the last three weeks. Fairways actually had grass (not so at Tarpon Springs), the sand in the bunkers was actually soft and one could swing through it and the greens were in good shape (again, not so at TSprings). Tricky in spots,but fair. Going back again this week!

The golf course is now owned by Jan Stevenson. It has improved a lot !!!!

Stopped in with family at the Beef Obradys there to have dinner. All was nice!

You can get out for a good price, and it has a great layout. But the greens need some serious work, and my last time there, the pins had not been moved in at least a week, leaving very ragged holes, And it plays best for a southpaw.

This golf course has been redone with new management. Although the course is not excellent by florida standards, yet, the value is. the greens are nice and the course is fun without being too difficult.

Greens have come a long way but the fairways still need help. For the price under $25 it is fine.
