Its was an exciting visit. Better then we expected. The community support is phenomenal. Though construction was in process. One can only imagine once completed.
A lot of the animals have ample room to roam, but some of the cages are so small and big cats are pacing back and forth in anxiety. I observed this same behavior when I was here almost two years ago. I know its a zoo, but all animals need more space.
This was an excellent experience, and was far more interactive than most zoos I have been too. Staff openly took questions about the animals during feedings even when there wasnt an activity based around the feeding. One of the zoo keepers, I dont remember his name but hes the one from N. Dakota was so nice and informative. I could easily go and spend another whole day there.
This place is one of my favorite places to go. It is a really nice zoo plus a place to enjoy desert plants. It is an amazing place to enjoy the day. Try to go when it is not to hot.
Not sure when its the best time to be there. Just wondering if there is a best time to go....most of the animals were sleeping or hiding in their dens. Didnt really get to see much because some of the exhibits were closed or under construction. Heavy covid restrictions were in effect...but at least its open and u can take the family out of the house.
Incredible atmosphere and most of the animals were there. Definitely recommend coming here and enjoying a grand time!!
Had a lot of fun with my mom and dad sister nieces and my husband
But I got bit up by mosquitoes. You better bring something to get rid of them. It was still pretty warm Id wait a month now before I go back.
Great place to bring school aged children. Pretty good sized place. If you think the little kids will get tired, start in North America. More animals there
Great animal display. The Australia exhibit was amazing
I love their interactive exibits like the giraffe feeding and Australia exibit! Nice outdoor event for the whole family!
Great place for the kids a lot to see that I havent seen at other zoos.
A great place to work take young children and older children too. It has the feel of a zoo, but is also is pretty as a botanical gardens for the adults.
Incredible showcase of all things desert. Will visit again, so much to see. Hiking trails were closed after big rains, so need to check those out!
The experience is always awesome. The Australian exhibit was great.
Great exhibits but due to construction inside property, finding the EXIT was very difficult.
We were blown away by it’s beautiful surroundings. The giraffe enclosure is the largest I’ve ever seen. Most of the animals are living in extremely large spaces. As close you can get to being to being on Safari. My 5 year old loved it so much we bought a membership. So much fun for all ages.
This place is a must experience and a must see. The staff is so friendly and helpful. It’s clean and well maintained. The animals are so well cared for. Everything is extremely affordable. Great experience for all ages!
Really a remarkable zoo - especially for such a small city :) It’s well kept, nice animal spaces, TONS of volunteer staff who are friendly and informed. My kids love the miniature railroad and also riding the shuttle through the place. Every Christmas they have an impressive Christmas light show in the evenings that is fun for the kids.
Beautiful place. A wonderful surprise was the huge miniature railway display. I could spent hours looking at it.
Theres soooo much to see here!! Love the giraffe feeding and the Reptile show!! A must visit for the fam!!
This is a wonderful zoo to visit.
Great place to visit. Clean, informative, beautiful! Definitely will be back!
Fabulously maintained park. There is a lot to see and a lot of ground to cover. We took a guided tour with a golf cart and guide. It is amazing to see animals such as these in Palm Springs, California. We learned a lot from our tour guide.
Fun zoo with a nice selection of animals! They do a Christmas light event which is lots of fun. Not a big Zoo, but perfect for an afternoon.
Great place to visit African animals and North American ones too! Easy walking.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Not very crowded either.
It is very nice an affordable had a great time here
Had Mothers day brunch here. It was soooo Nice!!
Great place for kids and family
Had a blast
The place is bigger than I expected . So many cool things to see, great outdoor learning opportunities for little one .
What a wonder day at the zoo!! So many amazing animals to see. I love this zoo and they have hiking trails also which we took advantage of. Plenty of places to eat or get a drink and water stations. Lots to see and enjoy. I cant wait to go again!!
Love it. Love the seniors help.
Loved the diversity.
Nice place for the kids.
Beautiful place to visit. Plenty of animals and more importantly a fun hiking experience.
I forgot how wonderful this place is!
The tram takes you around so you dont have to walk far. You can feed the giraffes.
Me and my family had a great day here, Yes we will be going back. Go and feed the animals. The long horn rams to see if you can find them. We found it very interesting and fun.
Amazing ecological preserve that has so much benefits to the scientific community
Love this place. Great place for kids too
Loved it. Interesting animal exhibits, and the botanical gardens are really remarkable. Its also not as crowded or heavily merchandise as the San Diego zoo or the wild animal park near Escondido. Highly recommended.
Wow.. Place was really nice.. Just make sure you take comfortable shoes.. There will be lots of walking.. Place is really clean.. Animals are well kept..
Thoroughly enjoyed my morning here. Animals were all out in their areas, all able to be seen. Staff very attentive and h e.g. helpful. Loved it all.
Bring lots of water, because its ALWAYS hot. Theres water fountains and even water bottle refill stations as well at most of the fountains. The place is definitely easy to get lost in though so keep the map handy
Neat place. Went at night cant wait to go during the day
Signage in the park could be a bit better. Most of the large animals and birds couldnt be seen from the viewing areas even after the 3rd walk by throughout the day. Kids enjoyed it fair enough. Not bad for something to do for the price.
Excellent zoo! Super hot! Loved watching the grandkids feeding the giraffes. I love how you stayed with the desert theme!
Beautiful, newly expanded, good variety of animals and a vast array of native plants, and more!
Best gem in the desert. Learn a lot about local wildlife and African wildlife.
Its a great place to visit for the entire family. Its also educational and it is a wonderful place to go if you care about all creatures great and small.
Always a wonderful day to spend there. They have many animals and are bringing more in the future like lions, rhinoceros and an Australian exhibit... They have Mexican wolves, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, a bold eagle, a golden eagle, vultures, owls, snakes, tortoises, camels (you can ride on them), lorikeets ( you can feed them)...the most famous one is the giraffe exhibit where you can, for a fee ($5 ), feed them in the morning. One of the giraffe is expectant so a cute baby is about to arrive soon. They also have a goat petting zoo, a show and for those who like trains, they have a large train exhibit....the prices are very reasonable at $ 20 per adult. Their family membership is about $150 which includes unlimited entrance for two adults and up to 4 kids, 2 complimentary tickets and 4 carousel ride tickets...Open daily right now till 5:00 pm ( last entrance at 4:00pm).
Went with rws hat ladys and the tour guy was great and kida would really love this place
Much larger and impressive than I would have expected. A great diversity of animals, and it looks like they plan to expand even more soon.
The great part is you can bring a picnic there, the goats are fun. You would not want to miss the zoo hospital its Soo cool ! My favorite is either the badger or the vulture aviary .
Eh. I wanted to like this place but they keep all the animals in such small habitats I just cant leave more than 3 stars. I know all zoos keep the animals locked up pretty tight but this was just too much for me.
This place is amazing, specially for a Field Trip. My favorite Field trip so far...
During Christmas time it was very prettyIts decently priced. Had many animals to see and great for all ages. There are many things to do and to eat. Also they give camel rides!
I did not expect that many animals. This is a big zoo with tons to look at.
A truly unique animal experience. Take a lot of water if visiting this time if year and go early.
Went for mothers day last month and it was beautiful. The animals, the scenery and the weather were all amazing.
Take your kids and wife for the day. Lots of animals to see and some nice education. You get to see Chester, Timon and Pumba.
Great up and coming zoo. A little more than what I expected from what I think is a fairly unknown zoo.
Loved it my two kids enjoyed it very much I also loved how they have lots of spots with tables and and chairs in the shade to eat a snack or two plus benches all over will definitely be coming back
Nice to walk around.large natural habitats for animals. Will be exciting when they get lions next year as not so many exotic animals, ie, monkeys, elephants, lions.
Always see something different, LOVE getting to go, see the animals rescued and love supporting their efforts!
I like you did it was very lovelyl
Very educational and entertaining. My grandchildren loved it.
Visited yesterday with over 80 2nd graders fed Girraffes and $6 Camel rides. So much to see Overall great learning experience! I highly recommend for all ages.
The zoo is great!!! They have a bald and golden eagle!! Just wish they had monkeys
We went when it wasnt very hot. We enjoyed the walking around and a couple of the talks about some eagles and the mountain goats. A good place to bring a book also and to just relax.
Awesome experience. Great customer service
Amazing
This is a great place to visit. They have dates and nighttime activities and both are fun and informative. For night activities I suggest you should bring a flashlight and blacklight.
An amazing place to see well cared animals up close, intermixed with plants and gardens from various regions.
Fun place to go. Lots of nice exhibits
We love The Living Desert! They are super friendly and fun. The petting zoo is a big hit! My only complaint is that I wish the park area had water features again, and I wish there were more shady things to do in the summer. Its just too hot right now to spend more than an hour or two in the morning.
It was excellent family time...cold so dress warm. The giraffes were super cool.
My favorite place to walk in the morning. A lovely and delightful place for both children and adults.
The highlight of my visit. Cant wait to visit again when the newest addition is completed.
Great place to learn about deserts around the world!
Maybe good if you have little kids with you but nothing to write home about. Very sparse and minimal...
It was amazing and I like how you can feed the giraffes that was really fun and all the lights were beautiful
Great place super people and some cool animals.
Great escape into wildlife with beautiful landscape. Its much bigger than I thought, plan a whole day
What a great place! We had so much fun!
The line was too long. But heard it is good
My children and I had such a great time hee! We fed the giraffes, rode camels and saw so many amazing animals.... I highly recommend checking this zoo out
A wonderful facility! Great volunteers to answer questions!
Such a neat place!! We have plans to go back after our son is born!!
Totally love this place and all the activities they offer
Awesome little zoo with friendly helpful employees
Id give it five stars if the shuttle was better. Shuttle times were not dependable.
Great place for desert plants and animals.
Feeding the birds and riding camels is great fun for everyone!
