Great place to walk around, drive or cycle through. Some roads are narrow and one way so drive slow and use caution. We really enjoy the natural beauty of this park. If you see anyone vandalizing anything in the park please report them. This is a privilege that can easily be taken away due to irresponsible behavior and actions. As a local that enjoys the outdoors, we always clean up after ourselves. Please do the same, so we can all continue to enjoy this park for many years to come.
There are no swings, slides, etc. There is a pavillion and picnic tables. You can also bring your own fold up chairs. There are paved and unpaved trails, both walking and driving trails. There is a small creek, with a wooden bridge. Its a peaceful place for a walk or a picnic.
Beautiful, green lots of trees paths and bridges. Hard to get a good breeze at the pavilion. Watch for those one way signs. Lol. Good time family gathering. Bathrooms are closed.
It was a nice place to visit. It would be great when the Dogwoods are in bloom or in the fall when the leaves start changing.
Grew up walking around this park and playing in the creeks. Its peaceful. Great way to clear your mind and get some excercise or have a family outing.
Remote, natural area, needs some more road work as there were lots of potholes that need attention.
Grew up coming here and now i take my family here, its a nice park
Its a neat park with great hiking trails. It surprised us to find it here. There are no public restrooms (currently they are trying to fund them from the signage by the pavillion), the maps are a little confusing and not widely disseminated. The roads on the maps are marked as one ways, but no one follows the directions, and the paved roads are winding and if you do come head on with someone, its very hard to get around them.Overall, it was a great hike, beautiful scenery, and it has great potential. Just needs a little signage and restrooms and it will be top notch.
Theres really nothing there and not easy to find where y I u are supposed to go
The Dogwood and Redbud trees are in bloom with perfect timing for the Dogwood Festival. The park hiking trail has been invaded by Fairys, but fear not, for they mean no harm to any living thing. Their tiny homes and gardens abound along the trail that wanders through the forest. If you take the path, be sure to have footwear appropriate to an unpaved hilly dirt trail with exposed roots.
Natural beauty . great place for picnicking. Tough walking trails
I go here every morning or for whenever I need so quiet time in nature
Relaxing..
Lots of room here to explore trails and enjoy nature. And dont drive in without having a few moments as the road is one way to get out and takes a moment or two to find the exit.
Beautiful area to escape and hike. You have plenty of trails and areas to ride bikes
Beautiful place to walk
Very beautiful hiking trails and picnic areas anytime during the year.
Its a beautiful place. You can drive through the whole park and stop, get out walk around. It has a covered pavilion, bbq pits, picnic tables, a small creek, hiking trails and dogwood trees everywhere. You wont regret taking time to enjoy this site.
Hiked the fairy trail twice. Loved it so much i proposed to my fiance there... She said yes btw
Pretty nature area, Creek and hills, good roads but narrowOne pavilion, working on getting rest rooms, not there yet. Run,walk, bike, fairy trail. Well maintained. Check it out
Peaceful park that has rarely been crowded, bike trails and walking trails available and plenty of picnic tables scattered alongside a creek. Pavilion to rent thru the city.
Awesome place to see Texas beauty and get some exercise
Love meeting with our plant swap group ETPS
This is a beautiful reserve which is family oriented. It has plenty of picnic tables, camping areas, hiking trails (including the new Fairy Trail), newly built restrooms, and plenty of beautiful nature.
Great park, hiking trails are a lot of fun. The Fairy Trails are a blast to hike with little fairy houses built along the trail by families of the community for you to look at.
Very majestic place
Have always loved the. Trails.Really enjoyed the Fairy Houses Trail this year.
It was good but it was extremely hot down at the picnic area...
Love the trails here. Second visit this time with the whole family.
Beautiful park with gorgeous trees, particularly in the autumn and spring months. My only complaint is that there are no bike trails! Palestine is the least bike-friendly city Ive lived in and I think this would be a great place to add some trails.
We were there last week. Dogwoods were pretty sparse, frankly it was no big deal. Maybe we were there about two weeks to early. It’s a nice park but it didn’t strike us like a Dogwood Park.
A nice area that seems to become more popular with the locals as they discover the outdoors.
Very relaxing place and paths to walk or run.
Best place in Palestine. Beautiful in the Spring. Go for a long hike through the woods. Take a picnic. ONLY fun thing to do in this town. Yall know its true. ;-)
Nice local park my buddies and I hung out in to kill some time prior to heading out to the ranch we were hog hunting at.Quiet, wooded and secluded. Plenty of tables, shade and space for large groups of people.
Pretty nice park for walking although they don’t have enough direction for following trails. The trail I️ followed forked a couple times and I️ was clueless as to where to turn. Eventually found my way back to the road but don’t make my mistake and go by yourself during the evening as it is pretty spooky!
This is a great place for anyone that likes nature. Its also great place for anyone looking to run or do any other kind of workout. There are hills to make a run challenging or flat pieces of land for a more traditional run route as well as places with grass to do other types of workouts or activities.
Ive been coming here since I was a kid. I love this park, the drive around is great and the Dogwoods are beautiful! Must go during the spring!
Been visiting there for very, very long time. Nice improvements. Shame damage others have done to old concrete tables
My favorite park. Go here to walk as often as I can. Dogwood blooms are fantastic. Should start in a month or so. Every season is beautiful at Dogwood!
Always a fun time with the kiddos
Simply the most beautiful time of year to visit with all the dog woods in full bloom
I love this place. Be careful though, you can get lost. But thats part of the fun. Right
Very nice for walking, biking, picnics, yoga and meditation. And good fun park to take kids. When the Dogwood are blooming good place for photos. Or photos any time of the year.
Love this park
Good hiking or biking trail, really natural. Good for a break from the town and get some fresh air.
At the right time if year this place is gorgeous. Otherwise its a great place to bring my boys ages 10 and 11 to ride bikes and explore the trails.
I have always enjoyed spending time here. It is truly the best during the Spring when the Dogwood trees are in bloom...
Love this place especially when the Dogwoods are blooming.
Perfect place to meander in nature with the person you love.
Beautiful place to take your dogs for a walk
Beautiful. There was no restrooms last I went. They are working on that though
Beautiful drive through park when the dogwoods are in bloom
Loved it! So beautiful
Great place to have a picnic and look at all the beautiful Dogwood trees when in bloom
When To Visit: Late March, Early AprilDavey park is known for the dogwood trees, which bloom bright white flowers. The annual dogwood festival is held the last weekend of March and first weekend of April. The park is a nice place to walk, picnic or spend time outdoors year round, but is a draw for photographers and nature lovers during the peak spring flower season. Park is open to the public year round, no admission.A quick google search for Dogwood Trails Celebration will produce information about the upcoming years festival.
Nice park. Mostly drive-through, with picnic sites in the center. I didnt find many hicking trails but I wasnt there long.
Its beautiful in October, the Tree colors are something I dont usually experience in South Texas!
I like the park its a lot of open spaces and a creek and trails to walk.
Beautiful place for a 2 mile truck march.
Nice park. Lots of winding trails
This park is awesome when the dogwoods are blooming! It is nice for picnics anytime!
Nice and peaceful
So beautiful. I was able to have lunch and work while enjoying the beautiful scenic view. Peaceful.
Beautiful park!
My family and I love to come and have picnics, hike, and even play in creek with the dog.
The park has been one of my favorite locations to visit for over 40 years, and just keeps getting better... beautiful in the Spring and Fall or just any time of year.....
Very beautiful when the dogwoods are bloom.
At Davey dogwood park you should expect wild life.
Go here in the spring time.
Beautiful and peaceful
Great park but poorly marked roads and trails
Love the history of tge town, spent some years there at St Marys as a child
Beautiful, under utilized park with lots of hiking and biking trails. Hopefully the bathrooms will be completed soon.
Park was nice..but the fairy gardens looked beat up.
Good place for celebrating with you family and friends different events like bdays, family reunion, etc. Or just come walk, run or admire the nature.
Nice roads to ride a motorcycle on
Great place to ride a bike or take a good walk with your family and friends
Its beautiful, peaceful, and almost feels enchanted!
Its not a play ground its a large wooded area for driving hiking or biking if you have little ones make sure to bring an activity unless they enjoy looking at the trees. Its mostly empty not a busy place so the pavilion in the center is fun to let the kids play.
Large, scenic and private park. Great trails and no leash law.
Great place for the East Texas Plant Swap!
Beautiful place to hangout and meditate or get some exercise.
So disappointed in the park. A control burn had been done the first part of March. There were very few Dogwood trees in bloom and not very good ones. It was a worthless trip. March 19, 2018
Beautiful trails, exciting bike paths, and wide open spaces.
Good walking trails but no playground for the kids.
Love driving through when the dogwoods are in bloom.
