It was a big holiday weekend, Labor Day, and a lot of things were still closed as per Governor Newsoms orders. Despite that we ventured out of our hotel to check out this place. My kids and I loved the architecture. We even found one building open for business. It was a coffee shop that had a gift shop inside. The coffee shop has been in business in almost two years. It felt good to support the local business owners.
Loved visiting this place and the restaurant La Dolce Vita. Wonderful ambiance best restaurant and one of favorite locations Ive come across in CA. The waiter at dolce made or evening delightful.
Beautiful but closed during pandemic. patio dining available during certain days and times, check before heading over.
This place is beautiful and such a breath of fresh air in comparison to the surrounding downtown Oxnard areas. There are old historic homes located on the square. There are plaques that can be read to learn more about the local history. Great place to take photos or even visit at night. Great place to visit and walk through.
Beautiful older homes...get off and walk around. Shop the businesses!
Very good walk in town.
Really quite and a wonderful atmosphere
If you like architecture, youll enjoy seeing the buildings at Heritage Square. Heritage Square contains (maybe a dozen?) beautifully restored old/historic houses with landscaping and walking paths around them and placards in front of each building explaining their histories. They are occupied by businesses so excepting the ones with restaurants it doesnt appear that you can look inside. Still, it was enjoyable for a walk and break from the car. There is also a small gift shop in the square with a very friendly attendant.
Very neat and cozy spot. The coffee selection is amazing for those that appreciate a real drip or espresso. I ordered the Mexican Medium roast over drip and loved it. I wish It was closer to home so that I can visit more often.
The food Italian is bomb I recommend
You can find italian food, wine and more...
I have not dined here. I was in attendance for one of the free concerts. This is a great place to hang out and listen to some good music and get up and dance. Bring a chair and a pick-nick, its free.
Visit my mom regularly. For a retirement home its not what it should be. The staff is often rude and it has a section 8 feel. Weirdos going in n out. Probably wouldnt notice other than the fact its supposed to be a RETIREMENT COMMUNITY. With that said it could be alot worse.
Not a tourist attraction. Seriously, it takes about 10 minutes to see the entire square. Nothing was open when we were there. It was a ghost town. The buildings are historic and cool though.
We had a lovely time @ our 50th high school reunion. I would like someday, to tour the Heritage Square complex and discover more about the local history of the homes & families of Oxnard.
Fun events happen here all year-round! Stunning Victorian-era mansions surround the square, where summer concerts happen, spring tea, Steampunk Festival in the fall, and a magical Christmas celebration all month long in December. An Oxnard treasure.
The atmosphere is great .Your outside, the people are friendly and you can bring your food and drink ! Theres also restaurants onsite. Its wonderful !!!
Love the coffee
Great venue for events, parties, and even weddings, but my favorite event is Steampunkfest held every year in October.
Beautiful and peaceful place. The shops are adorable and its a great place to have a nice walk and relax.
IT IS PART OF OXNARD CA HISTORICAL MONUMENTS
Its a beautiful place in downtown Oxnard. They host concerts, festivals and docent tours throughout the year.
This place shows up on every tourist map of Oxnard. So, we decided give it a go. Nothing was open in the morning, and many of the stores were offices. Maybe I misunderstood what this place was, but I thought it would be a fun attraction for the family. We spent all of 5 minutes walking around reading the signs before I decided to take my bored family into the cute coffee shop for hot chocolates. That was a nice treat. Maybe this is a great place during special events... but not as a passerby activity.
Cool place to play pokemon go
Great place to walk around in the evening hours, local restaurant and coffee shop are also in the area.
Very nice an meticulously maintained houses from yesteryear relocated to a nice setting. Coffee place, exceptional Italian restaurant and other places to ser
I love the live events and the food at the dolce vita
Beautiful historic park area although it contains a lot of lawyer and real estate offices, it still has a nice coffee shop and wine tasting room.
Beautiful part of downtown Oxnard. Lots of history here.
The food service and place was excellent.
Cool spot! Get the coffee at the coffee place there. They do a really good job!
These Majestic Victorians radiate with the elegance of simple times.
Great place to walk around and look at old restored homes that are now businesses . Includes a restaurant and pub, and restored Church building. Events are also held here. Visit around Christmas to see it all beautifully decorated!
Great turn of the century Homes.
Great place 2 eat beautiful and very clean
Nice place to have lunch or dinner
Very fun summer concert series. Great band!
Small quaint, good weather to walk around. Cute shops.
It was a fabulous place. But its a pity it was not owned by a city and the interior of those wonderful houses are not available for viewing or protected as it is required for unique historicalonuments and heritage.
Beautiful spot in downtown Oxnard, rich in history. Houses are restored and maintained with exquisite detail. Costumed docents tell great stories in their architectural tours. Dont miss this treasure!
The views were very beautiful, a great place to take a small walk, Its in a beautiful neighborhood, nobodies really around so its really peaceful and calming especially on a nice warm day. I enjoyed my time over there and Id love to go back.
I have a teacher in the class so good for me to come over there and learn
Relaxing evening listening to good music with friends and family! Friday Fun DAY!!!
Loved it. Small city block with really cool old restored houses. Most of them have business in them, but just to look at them from the outside is great.
Really enjoyed Heritage Square especially the chico band!! Best band
The best wine fest ever!!!! This us how travel nurses rock!!!
I love the period architecture! Its a nice quiet place to walk around. My wife and I just got home from having coffee and wine at two of the new shops there!: Heritage Coffee and Rancho Ventavo Cellars. Both places are small and intimate. We chatted with the owners of both places and they were wonderful, welcoming people. Go there as soon as you finish reading this.
If you havent done so. You cant Miss out on a summer concert.
Adventurous and blessed to see such beautiful buildings.
Nice place for gathering.
A GREAT SUMMER CONCERT CHOICE FOR ALL PEOPLE TO ATTEND ON FRIDAY NIGHTS STARTING AT 6PM!! LOTS OF VERY DIVERSIFIED BANDS AND MUSICAL TASTES!!
Always easy parking. Many of us go because that area has two Pokemon Go gyms. Its beautiful scenery too.
Quaint place. Nice to take a stroll.
Wonderful collection of beautifully restored Victorian homes & other buildings. They were gathered from all over Ventura County & represent a broad cross section of county history. Many fun events are held there: Summer Concerts, Steampunk Fest, Teas, & Victorian fashion shows.
I cannot say enough about this place!! Beautiful, truly a hidden gem! And the restaurant...La Vita Dolce so quaint! We recently had a 50th wedding anniversary party here and it was PERFECT! We used the upstairs and it was decorated beautifully! Michelle was so amazing, making sure we had everything we needed. You will not be disappointed!
Great
Beautiful location for celebrations and events!
Nice place, live music concerts, restaurant, coffee, etc.
Really nice! Very interesting story about moving the buildings there and saving them!
Very nice place to take pictures.
Heritage Square Phoenix is one of those unique city areas that keeps its history alive. It is amazing how much is being done by the Heritage Square Foundation to preserve the historic buildings and get the tourists and general public acquainted with the history of Phoenix.Upon entrance, I found the Heritage Square Visitor Center (a former Carriage House) to be of great help to visitors - besides educated and friendly working staff who welcome you in, they offer an excellent info display, free handouts, visitors guides and maps of Heritage Square Phoenix, - all this is so informative and helpful when you walk around the area.Of course, on the premises of Heritage Square theres a very famous, historic Rosson House Museum that offers tours, the Teeter Carriage House (now it is one of the popular Royal Coffee Bars in the area), another old, but modernised structure is Baird Machine Shop (today it is a Pizzeria Bianco), and a gorgeous, open-air Lath House Pavilion that was completed in 1980. Nearby, theres a prominent Arizona Science Center that runs many programs in educating children.
Got married here. Highly recommend.
Heritage Square has 14 restored structures, including 11 homes, a church, a water tower, and a pump house, built between 1877 and 1912. Most have been re-purposed for business use. Exterior docent-guided tours on Saturdays 10-4 and Sundays 1-4.
Good little spot.
Iced Mocha superdelicious!
Just here for the steampunk fair it was good it needs more participants and vendors preferably FOOD!
The houses that were saved and moved here are so beautiful.
Heritage Square is a great microcosm of old Oxnard. I go there because of my church but there are some other attractions such as a good restaurant.
Stunning historical beauty in architecture.

This place is Top Notch. I love Heritage Square. Its a fantastic location and everyone needs to go there. Especially to Rancho ventavo wines! George and Faye are the owners of Rancho ventavo wines and they are fantastic people! Fantastic people and fantastic wine makers! Red wines only. Which I love! To there. You can thank me later, by buying me a case.
Beautiful area! Lots of pretty succulents. In a bit of creepy area of Oxnard though.
Steampunk Festival was fun. Heritage coffee was delicious.
Cool historical place. I like it when the food trucks go
Fresh made coffee and cozzy to relax.
The local businesses surrounding the square are very hospitable. Its a great place to explore and learn more about the local history.
