Late review: I was there about 4 weeks ago. Had an ok experience. Good rates. Pace of play was good. Green was not the best but still rolled ok. Not the best maintenance. Watch out for humidity on hot days. Weather can be super sticky
Good rates, friendly staff and the pace was good. Never had to wait and didnt have anyone pressuring is from behind. The 3 Stars is because the course was not well maintained. Lost a few balls in very tall grass just of the edge of fairways. I had to be directly over there ball to see it. Many areas were very wet like playing near a swamp.
Nice course. Not the best manicured but I liked it. One of the Par 5s was shortened to a par 3 temporarily due to the ugly Dallas Cowboys practice area set up. If it was the Niners or Rama it would be okay but the Cowboys!?!?! Anyway, Ill be back. Reasonable greens fees and the Vineyard course was wide open and I flew threw it in 3.5 hours!
Nice track. The blue tee boxes are oddly set lower than the white trees on many holes and I have not seen that before! Definitely made it it more challenging and interesting but usually the back tees are elevated
I played both the Vineyard course & the Victoria Lakes. Vineyard is a nice course however the Victoria Lakes is not only prettier but substantially more difficult. The only problem I had was when the starter on 14(Vineyard) wanted me to play another course because and I quote, he was hoping to go home early.(started round at 3:30 finished @ 6:30). Both courses are great. Greens roll really nicely & both courses are well maintained. People do not fix their ball marks on the greens.
Great course and always in great shape. Staff is friendly and the practice area is nice.
Played it for the first time last week. Really enjoyed the layout. Well groomed also.
The course was in good shape but the round took way too long. Groups were stacked up and I was told it was wide open. They should monitor pace of play and make sure people repair the greens.
Tough course with multiple hills. Precision is key and the weather is always perfect. Dont go after 3 unless your ready to walk.
This place is horrible. They change driving range times constantly and they’re incredibly inflexible. I had the “membership” for about a year. To play 9 holes in the morning with the membership cost $27. Without the membership it was $25. So I had to be sure to not mention I had a membership. There were a few guys in the shop that were cool and would help me out on green fees. But most of the employees were rigid and inflexible and wouldn’t even acknowledge that things didn’t make sense... don’t get a “membership” here
Course is in good shape and only $40 to play with cart.
Great course for the money. One of my favorites.
Lots of hills and slopes, but overall great course and agreeable greens.
On 12.15.19 I took my wife and two daughters to play the Victoria course as they have two eighteen hole layouts. I was extremely impressed with the courses layout. You will need to play it once to understand some of the doglegs and where to drive it but the course was nice and wide, greens were in great shape and there were plenty of elevated tee boxes with fantastic views. The par fives were long, there is a lot of water on holes. I live in Fullerton Ca and if this course were nearby Id play it once a week, thats saying something. We played on Sunday, the fees were $65 per player, they gave me 22% off for booking online. Needless to say I recommend it. Driving range was great as well.
I ate subway in the parking lot with my fiance and watched the cute little ducks in the fountain area
Was a good day, staff very helpful and friendly.
Great Course we had a great time.
Great place to come and play. Both courses are in great shape and never disappoint. I have noticed that the beer cart at this course is always out and driving around, which is a huge bonus. Used to come here a lot but I’ve found other courses to offer hot deals or discounted rates later in the day.
Beautiful Golf Course with a nice hotel PLUS you can see Dallas Cowboys training camp in the summer
I like this golf course because it is near the ocean and its not as hot as playing in the San Fernando Valley. Please note that the sun is a lot more damaging than other areas because theres less of a ozone or smog to block the suns rays. Please put plenty of sunblock or wear long sleeve or long pants to avoid a sunburn. My sunburn is still lasting more than 10 days but but Im beginning to recover and heal well. I would definitely play here again
I dont play golf but it sure was a pretty place to be around! I walked around the course for a couple of days and it was relaxing being in such a beautiful environment. There were lots of flowering plants, mature trees, birds all over the place. I saw these crows chasing a hawk, having a little aerial dual. The hawk flew away :)
Its a very nice golf course. Im terrible at golf, so the price is a little steep for me to go out and ruin a perfectly nice day. Its not the golf courses fault though. Ive been playing there for years, I just dont enjoy it as much as I used to. Drink cart is a benefit that helps me enjoy the day a little more...
Vinyard Course is in very good shape. Greens are nice & run true. Fairways good condition & tee boxes good.
This is a great local golf course. 2 courses to choose from and they are kept very nice.
Lond and awesome golf course. The clubhouse has a nice cafe with great food, and the employees are really nice. A good golf course over all.
Awesome track, highly recommended.
Beautiful and challenging golf course! Myself and several colleagues recieved lessons from Jon Gomez while visiting the area with the US Navys Wounded Warrior adaptive sports program, he is absolutely awesome teacher! Very professional and patient, in just the few lessons from him my game has greatly improved and Ive once again fallen in love with the game of golf! I highly recommend this course and lessons from the pros! No matter what your skill level they will help improve your game!
This place has been my home course for the last 10 years. It is well kept and challenging. If you can have a great day at the range the course will really test you. Vineyard course is often windy but will calm down throughout play. Victoria course is very long and I do not advise walking. If you decide to play the front 9 on Victoria you have a very long walk back to the club house.
Greens on the Lakes course can stand up to or perhaps pass all the local country clubs in Ventura County. Tough track pure and simple. Pro shop is professional throughout. Good rates. Snack shop is warm and friendly with great service. The Marshals here are dedicated to their work. Maybe taking infractions a bit too seriously. A lot of them are retired and get free play. So to them, this is their turf. Good in a way, bad in a way. Some of them need to lighten up.Id rather pay $5 more per round, have the place hire friendlier marshals.
Two very good courses, fair prices, and helpful staff! Golf shop needs some professional merchandising and reorganization!
Two 18 hole courses to choose from both are fun to play but the Lakes course is definitely more challenging.
Today, I used my prepaid range ball token key on the range ball machine, and was shocked that the machine did not recognize my prepaid token of $43. I played there last few days. Then, I spoke with the employee at the shop, they said that the new management just started today, the whole system changed. I am wondering why I have not seen any posters, or signs posted on the range ball machine about the new management will be starting on July 1. Here is the problem, why the old or new management did not post any messages or notice that the players will lose the remaining range ball fee starting July 1. This is a cheap shoot that the Golf Club just take advantage of their customers and a short term profit. I will NEVER go back to play there again. There are a few more nice Golf Clubs in Ventura County.
Great course in good condition. Fun holes with long par 4s and 5s.
A really nice course. My group lost quite a lot of balls to the lakes so come prepared to lose a few. Some of the greens had a lot of sand on them, which made for troubled putting. The other landscaping was top notch though and the water features were working fantastically while conserving water due to Californias drought. I would play here again.
Rude employees who harass guests from the adjoining Residence Inn. There are no signs or clear markings to delineate the boundary between the grassy area of the Inn and the golf course property. Rude employees harass paying guests of the Inn. Someone needs to address this on the corporate level. If you dont want Inn guests going to your duck pond, post a friggin sign.
Awesome course to play. My husband loves it . I drop him there at least once a week
Pro shop in a little disarray due to recent management change, some confusion as to rates. Club house a little tired and toilet in men’s locker room backed up.People were friendly and trying to please, nobody warned us that 18 holes was out and back, no stopping at club house for a hotdog and beer at the turn. Glad we brought some water with us. The starter and marshal that we met were friendly. There was a building after 9, but was unmanned and closed. Once they get their act together will be a nice course to play fairways were good, most greens were great. Without amenities I would give it 3.5 stars. If and when they have the amenities in place, they could be 5+.
Range prices are a bit high. Hike up a hill to get to range is a bit difficult. Windy, cool conditions the times I have been there. Nice, clean, modern clubhouse. Friendly staff. Well maintained grounds. Great views of surrounding area.
First time I played there today. I went out as a single and it was very nice. I played the vineyard course and walked it. Maybe they should have warned me its quite a long course and quite hilly. Course ends with a green surrounded by water. That was tough because I was so tired.
Always a great time, teaching my lil boys the way.
Course is in great condition and rates are insanely cheap through their online booking portal.
Course is in great condition. definitely coming back again.
Pro-shop gave me good suggestions
Guy at front desk rude
Good pace good price
Outstanding course for a very reasonable price. We were visiting the area and played the Victoria Lakes course. My wife got a free birthday round. Staff was very friendly. Course is challenging without being tricked up, very few parallel fairways, good conditions, some rolling, elevation changes. Had a great time playing here!
Nice views. Havent golfed here.
Coordinated with River Ridge Catering department for an event. The Catering manager, Mrs. Belinda, is attentive to detail, accommodating and wonderful! Everyone of the staff from the owner to the office administrator and cafe employees always asked us if we needed water or assistance. The event setup was so smooth and flawless, I couldnt believe how Mrs. Belinda was calm and efficient! Very thankful to the River Ridge Catering & Event Management for making my brothers graduation party perfect!
Hit a few balls at the driving range and it ended up being enjoyable.
The greens were way to fast. I dont think Ill be back
Greens were rolling nice
Good staff, plenty of room for guests...
Havent played normal golf here yet, but love playing foot golf here! I believe this was one of the first courses to offer it and its very fun! Great workout too - youll end up walking/running at least a couple of miles if you play 18 holes!
Tried to make two T times last Tues called their web site couldnt get thru called a second # they answered but said they were no longer affiliated with Riverridge golf course. SO I hung up and made two T times at Sterling Hills.
Stellar course. Stellar staff. The course Marshall actually cares about pace of play and they are apologetic, even on weekends, when groups ahead are slow. Plan on at least 4h 30m rounds on weekend mornings, but totally worth it. Great course to walk.
New management has “suspended” footgolf - one of the only courses near by and they’ve decided to suspend it and luckily we called ahead otherwise we would have gone off their website which still states it is open.
Two courses. Both great but the Lakes course is the best and most challenging. Stimp meter of 11.9 yesterday; ridic fast and sick pin placements Greens in great shape as is overall course. Doesnt get much better if u r thinking public courses.
Nice course with beautiful views
Played here yesterday... This place used to be good! First, the pro shop employee wasnt very friendly! Second, the driving range is horrible. The grass was destroyed. It was not even close to being flat and not being able to warm up properly just threw off the whole round for me. Thirdly, the Cowboys are taking up one hole (youd think they would say something when you call for a tee time). Finally, the soccer golf course in the middle of a golf course is a joke. For that reason alone, I would never go back. TWO stars for great greens.
Nice course and green is pure fast
Friendly helpful staff. Nice with large Target nets in the otherwise rough driving range.
2nd Annual Womens Prophetic Prayer Breakfast
Im not typically one to write reviews but given the circumstances I felt it was my only option to get attention.I was in a group of 8 that decided to play foot golf on 01/20/18 and we were having a great time up until the 13th hole. Throughout the day we followed proper etiquette and allowed golfers to pass us since our group was big and we didnt want to slow them down. There was a single golfer that decided he didnt want to wait on us while we were on the green. Instead of skipping this hole he decided to tee off which, given the roughly 20 MPH winds ended up hitting me in the leg. It was uncalled for and the golfer came over looking for his ball. I exchanged some words with him explaining the dangers that his actions had in which he showed little remorse and left without offering an apology.I wrote his cart number down and unfortunately the golfer wouldnt provide his name. I walked to the pro shop (we were on foot) and reported my incident to the staff. The pro shop offered little help on the matter outside of offering me ice. They said it was my word versus his and it would be too difficult to track him down. Mind you I have 7 witnesses that verify my claim and an injury to back it up. I am severely disappointed in the handling of this situation and wouldnt recommend attending the River Ridge Golf Club to anyone due to their lack of safety emphasis. Id recommend a different outing if you are considering attending this site.
Beautiful & Ocean Breezes
Great place
Get your game on here pretty good place.
Course is in nice shape
Thats where the Cowboys practice during Summer Training
Nice venue. Parking could be a little better, but nice for what its worth.
Wonderful accommodations for event
Played there two years ago. At that time they had Marshalls that rode you like a cattle drive. It was not any fun but I liked the course. Played there twice this year they did away with the shadowing Marshall theory and the experience was very nice played at a good pace with out the cattle prongs. Going back more often now.
Love both of the courses on one property! Go Cowboys!
Awesome golf course with the personnel to go with it.
Not a bad course, but as for getting something to eat after your round. The food and drinks are way over priced. I would recommend to go elsewhere to get some thing to eat or drink.
This was the best golf experience, considering price, quality of play and customer service, I can probably ever remember having. If a course like this existed in Bakersfield, where Im from, it would be a huge hit.
Always treated nicely when you go here.Great place and fun courses.
Well maintained courses.Watch out for heavy winds 40 mph. Must watch forecast wind advisory before reserving tee time here. Enjoy.
Best greens in the Ventura area! They have foot-golf and even allow dogs on the course. Breakfast burritos at the 19th hole take awhile but they are worth every penny.
Great course. Runs quick and greens are in excellent shape
A great local golf course that has two tracks (Lakes & Vineyard) and I am fond of the Lakes course. The course has a nice practice facilty and cart options (cart and boards)...
The course is in great condition, and they have Golf boards! Those are a blast!
Great course! Fun to play here - especially The Lakes
Well designed course. Love the fast greens. Running about 12 to 13 most of the time
Great greens pace of play outstanding
Nice course wide open
I stayed at the Residence Inn next door and this place caught my eye when I first stayed here. Well I actually tried to hit a few balls at the range yesterday and WOW!!! The customer service was absoloutely excellent.
Good entertainment place foot soccer
Good course nice greens.
Driving range is good and the course is always well maintained.
Beautiful, quite and most beautiful and quiet
Course is in good shape.
Friends had their wedding here. Good food, great staff
Well maintained and fun courses. A good choice on a hot day. Closer to the ocean good breeze.
Always love playing here, never feel rushed by the marshal or the group behind me. The greens were gorgeous (and huge and hard) and the course was in immaculate condition.
