Terrible TRC(table chair ratio). Need better trc
Worst bar experience ever. My under 21 friends got in but me (being 21) didnt get in because I wasnt a Miami student. Drove an hour for nothing. I thought I could drink anywhere once I was of age but apparently not. Great way to encourage underage drinking I guess.
Nathan at the door should not have a job dealing with anything to do with the public. that person has the worst social ability of any human Ive ever met.
There are better bars in Oxford. Been on numerous occasions and have never had a great experience.
Came back to Miami for a basketball game one weekend a few years ago to celebrate Coach Charlie Coles jersey retirement with a few alumni players. Decided to go out after the game and wanted to check out this new bar. Upon looking at us (one lawyer, 2 ex Miami bball players, all dressed nicely) and our IDs, the bouncers and owner told us we were not allowed in because we were too old (like 30 y/o). We told them why we were in town, then the owner said he knew an assistant coach and then made my friends prove that they were alumni basketball players by asking a bunch of stupid random questions. After getting them right, he relented and let us in. We went in, werent very impressed, left and spent our money at Steinkeller instead. Shady owner, shady business.
When this bar first opened, there was room for improvement. Today, The Woods sits as a runner up for the position of lowest reputation for bars in Oxford. If youre looking to have fun here, then you better shell out $30,000 to Miami and another $40 for the over priced, cheaply made, jerry rigged, drinks.
Super cheap bar for underage students. Lack of ac makes it a sweaty message deeper you go in. Crowded enough its hard to find the bathroom or leave. $5 cover for under 21
Great bar with two separate sections for the underage and another called sidebar thats 21+ and has a more relaxed vibe. 3 outdoor patios make it a great place to hang
The drinks were good and i loved our food our waiter was very nice and tried hard to be a good waitress. i rate this place a very good review
Idiots run and designed this bar. Apparently there are two sides one for 21+ and one for 18 year olds(both sides have a bar because reasons). They card you when you go in and give you a wrist band, but you can enter both sides from inside through a simple door way. However, despite this, they card you either way from inside the bar when passing from side to side and ordering beer despite requiring an ID outside and recieving a wrist band. It makes you wonder why did you even bother carding me outside and giving me a band. What is the point you idiots? They also change band colors throughout the day further begging the question Why? Seemingly the band does nothing as I will be carded purchasing alcohol and walking from one side to the other anyway. They also told me I couldnt bring a small bag in despite saying nothing about it earlier in the day when I was there, yet several women have their purses in there. Like I said ran and designed by idiots. Avoid it at all costs. A lot of hassle for low quality service, beer, and atmosphere. Its a dumb basement where you get carded for no reason and they give you attitude for a small sports back pack. Its like they dont realize there are 20 other bars in the area better and more relaxed than them. Take your business elsewhere.
Great drinks and atmosphere! If only the building didnt smell like sweat and vomit everytome Im there.
You’ll wait in 3 id checking lines before getting your id checked once more by the bartender who will then proceed to short you on your overpriced drink.
The second most popular bar for under-aged college kids. Its decent inside if youre looking for a typical college bar with mediocre drinks and a dance floor of drunk people grinding on each other
Side Bar (or the woods, I guess) is one of those bars you must visit in Oxford. Its where people who know what theyre doing in Oxford go for a solid night out.
It was fine. Overpriced except for the specials
Nice place by day, COLLEGE bar by night
Better than brick
