I do not usually write reviews for businesses. However, I felt compelled to write this review for Yost Conservation LLC. A beloved fine painting that my daughter inherited from her grandfather fell off the wall which resulted in a 4 inch rip in the canvas. (there was already a small tear on the upper edge of the painting but not one you noticed too much).The painting also had some heavy smokers yellowing on the surface. I was referred to Tom Yost by a reputable art museum/gallery. As an artist myself with a keen eye for detail, I was very cautious about having this beautiful painting mended, restored, and cleaned by someone whos work I did not know. This would be my first painting restoration. In speaking with Tom Yost on the phone about the restoration, I immediately felt from his warm professional tone and knowledge that this beloved painting was in good hands. The fee for the work that needed to be done was also very reasonable as well as the time(2-3 weeks) it took to complete. I was absolutely amazed when I first saw the painting after repair!!! It looked unbelievable. There was absolutely no evidence from the front of the painting that tears had ever happened....From all angles and light the surface was consistent in texture and level. The minimal paint touch up where repairs had happened was a perfect match in color and tone and stroke. I honestly never expected that a restoration could have such amazing results!! The cleaning also was beautifully done! The painting is so much brighter, yet has its authentic tonal qualities in tact.In addition to the very fine artistry, work, and attention to detail, the staff and artists who do the restorations are professional, helpful, kind, and accommodating.I highly recommend Yost Conservation LLC for any painting restoration needed. We are so incredibly happy with our newly restored painting!!!!! Thank you Yost Conservation!!!!
