A really well laid out musuem! Enjoyed it a lot
Very nice museum. The LARGEST Lone Scout exhibit I have ever seen. Being in the hometown of the founder of BSA and Lone Scouts, that is no surprise. William Boyce display is also very well done. Dan was our docent and very helpful.
We recieved our own personal tour of the museum. Very knowledgeable!
We went to a birthday party there for our friend and it was fun for all ages
Wonderful display with lots of locals of National interest.
Great little museum..neat orderly. we rented the back room for my nieces 17th birthday party and her handicap friends could come because place is handicap accessible..amazing time they had!!
Called the day before to make sure they were open the next day. They said yes. Drove 1 1/2 hours to get there and they had a hand written note on the door saying they were closed. Car in lot, call number to site. They were there but still said they were closed. So beware even though they say they are open you are taking your chances if they are open or not. They close whenever they feel like it even when they know a groups coming in.
This museum has a ton of historical information about scouting and the Ottawa IL area. The docent gives a great tour and adds so much value with facts and stories.
So fun to see scout history.
There were so many carefully laid out and tasteful displays. Beautiful. Also, the room across from the Scout room was of Ottawas history. I could easily spend hours in this hidden gem. A must visit!
Very friendly and knowledgeable folks here. .
Nice variety of material including multiple groups. All the Baden-Powell memorabilia even before Scouting added context to his life and the movement.
I’m not into Scouting but I love history and this place is full of it. Try to skip past the guide and read the captions on your own for a real walk through the past.
IF YOUVE BEEN IN SCOUTS YOU NEED TO CHECK THIS OUT
Knowledgable staff,interesting artifacts
A Gem of museum! Lots of terrific scouting and local information.
Lot of history and great meeting room.
Interesting. So happy they included all the scouts.
Great local museum. The museum is broken into two area one section is of ottawa illinois history and the other half is boy scout history. Staff is very friendly and helpful and able to answer your questions.
