Reasons why I like this place is because it has a good view over Oroville, of course when its day, the lake shows how much it grows and sinks in the distance with distant hills. Also, Oroville shows buildings. Plus mountains and rivers that scatters across the land. During the night is when its best, seeing our city glow with lights.

It was on fire... literally! All the trees on north side of dam were going up in smoke due to multiple lightning strikes causing 29 fires in one morning. Such a sad, scary sight... I live in the community next to where pictures were taken and go for family walks here with our dogs. Fire has taken too much away from our county over the last decade and has once again shaken the entire community.

Love going to the Dam!! Beautiful views of the lake and the valley, lovely walking trails and paths, and clean restrooms!!! Love our visits there, and also to the Visitor Center when its open!

Great Dam is fun to ride a bike walk or drive across. Beautiful views. Also, there is a boat launch.

Beautiful scenery and a great spot for a good walk or run!

We had an incredible walk across the dam. There was a thunderstorm in the distance to the north that we were watching for the first half of the walk. There were many families walking as well. It was fun to see the construction crews still repairing the damage from 2017.

The place Id beautiful. is nice for a good walk/jog there just to enjoy the view there if you like to sightseeing.

Love this place!. Walking the dam again & having the Spillway Launch opened with tons of improvements, awesome. Take a drive on Orodam East & enjoy the views (people watching too...).

Best lake in California

Were still hear! The Dam is open to ped and bicycle traffic! Strongly urge everyone close or not so close to come and see this monument to mans dreams and aspirations. Who ever thought to make a dam this massive and massive can only described it. Was a dreamer. Beautiful visits of the valley as far as yall can see and the other side a beautiful view of Oroville lake. Im proud to say BUTTE STRONG! Love my adopted City! Yall come and see us. But be ready if ya walk the Dam its a fairly long walk. But well worth it. And for Gosh sakes go see the wonderful visitors center right up the street.

Had a really nice walk across the dam. The scenery was beautiful. If you go early there wont be a lot of people. Beat the heat too for sure. Its a must do!
