Beautiful nature trails! Lots of different paths to choose from. The trails are all very clean and well kept. Plenty of shade to it is fairly comfortable even if it is hot out. Grey place for locals or Disney World visitors looking to get a break from the crowds. Highly recommend going to Osprey Overlook for the view of the marsh.
This place is amazing! They have great parking, picnic benches, restrooms, etc... basically everything you could ask for. In fact, their staff is doing a really good job in keeping the trail clean and it’s really hard to get lost due to all the signs and map you can get by the entrance! You can even find little posters that talk about the different animals living in this area and what makes this preserve outstanding. We went as a family with 3 little kids and all of them had a blast exploring while we were able to watch them perfectly due to how neatly arranged this trail is. As a bonus, you can see turtles by the entrance! We’ll definitely come back!
A well-kept and pretty area, these trails are relatively short and easy to walk through! Depending on the weather, some trails may be flooded, so be prepared for possible detours. Very quiet and serene with lots of informational signs and displays along the trails and at the nature center. A pleasant place to go for a a walk and enjoy the outdoors without driving too far from town!
A nice nature getaway thats only a short distance from Disney and the residential areas of Dr. PhillipsEnjoyable beginner friendly trails, well kept commons, and cool sights!
This is a very nice trail tucked away in Windermere. I gave 4 stars because the trail was muddy in a few places. It was not completely accessible!
Beautiful Trail! Lots of parking and Benches to sit on and have a picnic. There are a lot of trails and a lot of it is covered by trees so it’s pretty shady. There’s a lot of wild life and nature to observe. Very pleasant and peaceful area to visit. Remember to pick up your trash and be kind to animals.
Very well maintained and peaceful. The bathrooms were exceptionally clean!
Good park with a nice shaded 3 mile loop. Close proximity to Disney if you need to get away from a resort and get some real fresh air. It has a nice education center as well. It is of note there are better parks in central Florida on bigger lands. However for what this is as well as where it is, it is a great park.
Great place for some light walking through beautiful FL. It has mixed environments of wetlands, forest, ponds, and lakes. the trails are well marked and free maps are available. The park is free and parking is plentiful. They have board walks over the wetland parts to keep you dry. There is a welcome center with animal information and exibits to learn at the area and what to expect. They also have picnic tables and clean restrooms
Beautiful place. It was very relaxing and low key. There is a small animal museum but due to Covid-19 they were closed. My teen daughters really enjoyed exploring the trails. Its wet season so flip flops arent the best choice for hiking.
This county owned property was a fabulous find! The Vera Carter Educational Center is a well executed exhibit documenting the wetland ecosystem, controlled burn techniques, and a fabulous yet small animal collection showcasing what can be found in the local habitat. The staff were so friendly and helpful! All around a lovely excursion for the family!
Magical place with a variety of ecosystems! The scenery changes as you hike. Some areas are jungle like, others feel like the beach or a secret garden. Interesting and cool educational center for the whole family. Fee parking, free admission! BRING bug spray and don’t dress pretty - this is a woods trail that can often have lite flooding and INSECTS. Lots of them.
This is a nice trail that isnt very long. Great for beginners or for people who want to see some nature during the summer as its a short walk and is shaded quite well. We saw some snakes and birds. My youngest found a huge feather too. Will come back during the week when their nature center is open.
Nice facilities. Good, easy trails. Can get a little sloppy after rain. Saw an osprey and many turtles. Great interpretive exhibits.
Love it! Take a hike and find a nice spot to stop and relax and enjoy nature. Bring comfy shoes and water.
Nice getaway not far from main attractions, but serene and pleasant. Ample trails. Limited parking. No charge. Birds and a snake were all I noticed on my short walk.
Well maintained trail, easy to walk paths. Very good beginner trail. With good signs for potential spotted wildlife and information center.
A great county park. Trails were a bit muddy today. They could likely benefit from additional sand base added to the low spots on some trails.
Small but pretty state park in Florida. Nice pathes through the forest and when you look to the right and left with a little bit of time you can see many animals. Next time in Florida I will be there again. Thanks for this nice place.
Great trails for beginners or for a laid back quite walk. Doesnt look so big when you pull up, but it has so much to see. We saw quite a few turtles walking along the trails and gorgeous large sized butterflies that my daughter fell in love with. The trees were breathtaking. Theres benches for a quick rest that are shaded. One of my favorite pictures is of the mini bridge going into the trail with the trees in the background.
Cute little place to walk and relax. Please keep it clean and dont leave your trash. They have bathrooms and it was very clean! Great place for kids but some big spray might be good in summer.
A really nice and quiet place to hike. A definite hidden gem.
Its quiet, calm and most days there isnt much foot traffic, you may come across 1 or 2 groups of people. I love coming here to shoot photography because of the extensive wildlife and quiet atmosphere.
Very relaxing and quiet spot for some small hikes. Great for families.
Really nice trails with clear markers and clean facility. Very wet after the rain though, so be prepared!
Small, clean and nice! We have enjoyed the morning walking on the trail.
Nature at its best. Wonderful exhibit areas and well maintained walking trails. Ample parking as well.
Great place to hike i saw lots of wildlife but no Gators.. although Darwin is pretty cute
We discovered this facility, while looking for a walking trail close to our hotel. It was very relaxing walking through this nature preserve, and soaking up the sunlight beaming through the tall trees. Trying to spot and identify the birds chirping from their perches in the tress. A very relaxing way to enjoy a 90-minute walk in a very peaceful setting.
This is a great location for a nature walk. The center itself is very nice and they have restrooms.
Lovely park with a handful of manageable hiking trails and lots of interesting viewing spots. The information center is exactly as described - quite informative! The trails are well maintained, the scenery is quiet and pristine. The signage is also easy to follow. Some areas can get excessively wet (as it is Florida after all) so maybe come prepared with some weather proof boots or shoes. Also, there’s no entry charge and family friendly.
I can’t believe this place is free! It’s so nice! You can take. Short walk on the trail down to the Osprey overlook (we didn’t actually see any wildlife though) or take a much longer trail walk. The ground was muddy in spots and not stroller/wheelchair friendly as there many tree roots which make the path extremely bumpy. The main building is full of information and animals and there is a large sand box area and one picnic table in the front (not a shaded area). There is also a nice garden section we saw one butterfly.
Free entrance! Beautiful, pristine and quiet forest... Great place for walking trails and taking a minute to get a break from society. Parking is very easy to find. They also have an informational center where you can learn about the different animals that you will see and also some information about the park as well. If you live in the area, please visit.
I love this spot is very nice to get away in the middle of Orlando to disconnect, the best way to relax and keep the mind in peace ️....
A beautiful refuge from the city, nice walking trails (too bad one loop was closed due to flooding) and not allot of traffic nose once youre away from the road loop. Highly recommended for those selling to escape the rest traveling for a few hours. My only critique would be that they had these numbered sign post throughout but no reference guide.
Nice place for a walk with the one really nice view over the water.
Nice trails, great way to spend an afternoon. We did all the trails. Beautiful time with nature
Nice place for a walk. Unusually compared to the parks we visit in SC the trails are covered in grass which is really nice. In SC they are all dust tracks. Some of the trails are current closed which is a bit dissapointing but still its a nice place to spot plants and wildlife with your children or just have a nice walk.
This is a great place to spend a couple hours or the day. It has an education building with AC and bathrooms. There are a few hiking trails so you can do a quick walk or link them together and walk for a couple hours. Lots of wildlife. Great for pictures.
Nice park for half day hiking (not a big)
I love taking my kids on these trails. They arent to challenging but still lots of fun with the right amount of imagination. The welcome center is great for teaching lessons and there are enough trails to come back often.
Very nice hiking trails, with plenty of plant life and wildlife to see!
This place is amazing. We had so much fun seeing nature and enjoying walking with our family
Beautifully maintained, easy access. Great walking paths. Nice visitor center with informative displays. This would be a great place for all ages to spend an hour or two. Close to all the big Orlando attractions but it feels like you are miles away.
Besides not seeing one bird, I had a great time with my beautiful girlfriend. Thanks to her we were able to spot a baby milk snake on our exit! Great job babe. I would highly recommend this place with some friends or family. I would like to rate anybody who have rated this place less than 5 stars a 1 star because if you’re not happy with the mud or natural aspect of things, why come to the preserve? Smh
One of my favorite trails in Central Florida. Highly recommended for kids and adults.
Nice and quiet. Besides the part of pine circle trail thats right next to the winter garden Vineland road. Basically the trails are all non-paved nature trails and consist of four different layers changing the closer you get to the lakeshore.Layer 1: grassy smooth, easyLayer 2: Sandy, some roots, easy to mediumLayer 3: soil, roots, mediumLayer 4: swampy/wetland, a lot of roots, strenuous. Palmetto Passage is mostly like this, you need to be prepared to get dirty shoes. I rainy season the trail may be closed. Some areas of this layer have boardwalks like the Fallen Log Crossing and Osprey Overlook
Beautiful walk with a surprising variety of scenery and walking paths. Was unable to go on some of the paths as they were closed due to flooding (end of June/July) so the remaining paths took about 90 mins in total. Due to the boggy conditions I wouldnt advise strollers but maybe during the winter when drier? They have turtles by the main builinding and have a claendar of events for children to attend. Very nice for a stroll but too easy/short if looking for a hike.
Great place to go check out floridas raw nature! Had a blast. If I could give any advise itd be to save money and check out the free national parks in the area!
Great escape into the real Florida in the middle of so many theme parks. A short easy walk into the woods cuts out the sounds of traffic and youre left with the sounds of birds and animals in the underbrush. In our short visit we happened on an armadillo in the brush, a turtle snacking on a lilypad and an osprey soaring over. The building houses some fun information about the history, flora and fauna of the park.
Nice trails and would have enjoyed it more if we were wearing wet-proof boots or shoes. Parts of the trail were muddy & soggy due to winter rains. It’s probably nicer during the summer when it’s less rainy. They have a nice museum about the natural flora and fauna. Curious kids will enjoy the exhibits.
Cool park with easy waking trails, interesting habitats, and great wildlife. We even saw an armadillo! Restrooms were also pretty clean
I had a great time walking the Screech Owl trail at this nature preserve. I saw plenty of wildlife while out on the trail, and also a giant tortoise which lives near the nature center building. All in all it was a great experience. I will be returning.
Just a lad from Pa visiting here, let me tell you its absurdly beautiful, really top notch trails here.
Lovely little trails though wet so be prepared. We enjoyed our visit
We went after a month of rain. The pathways were wet. But beautiful!!
Well maintained trails, lots to se, easy to walk! An excellent place to see the real Florida.
Tibet Butler Nature Preserve is a nice place to take a walk almost anytime. I didnt see any alligators, crocodiles or poisonous snakes the several times that I have been there. The parking lot is paved. The trails are well marked but they can be soggy when there is a lot of rain. Im not certain if you can picnic here. There is a lot of variety in flora here. Good place for a nature walk for the whole family.
This is my go to park!!! It has a couple of different trails and boardwalks!! I always see several kinds of wildlife! Trails are well signed and maintained! Plenty of shade and benches to take a break or eat a snack!
Great location in Winter Garden to hike and enjoy Nature!!
Great place to connect with nature- main trail is a super easy walk!
Beautiful preserve. Nice to see natural areas being taken care of.
It has a nice trail. Nice place to go with family
Lots of fun, but well be sure not to come back in the wet season as even the not-intense trails were very flooded. We came out with wet feet, but feeling very accomplished! (I did give the middle finger to the Palmetto Passage sign though because we had no choice but to get knee-deep in places and I was COVERED in yellow fly bites by the end! Were going to come try it again when its not flooded!) I loved all the signs next to local wildlife in front of the nature center!
It was raining the day I went and there was a lot of over flooding. We played a little hop scotch to get through but the places seemed beautiful. I wish we had more time to explore and actually had better weather, but it was beautiful
You can see giant woodpeckers turtles. Nice lookout over the water. A nice 1 hour mini hike.
Great respite from the busy world surrounding this piece of Gods awesome creation. Well kept trails and facilities.
So beautiful! Florida winter is the optimal time to go. Be sure to wear boots or shoes that are waterproof as the ground is wet and swampy.
Great place to explore FL nature. Very clean and well maintained. Lots of shade and nice walking trails with broadwalk. Will recommend to all family.
So beautiful. Great place to go on a nature hike.
I enjoy visiting this park to appreciate the wildflowers.
Great trails that feel remote, but its just off the main city street. Interesting education center with a live tortoise.
Trails were pretty wet and muddy. Palmetto Passage was closed, probably because it was even wetter. Nature center very nice, though it was a disappointment that there wasnt an exhibit on the osprey. Probably give it five stars if I was here when it was dryer.
Nice, quiet area for walking. No pets allowed unfortunately though
This place is ideal for family or someone who start to hiking, the trails have easy access. The place have free parking and restrooms.
Well maintained trails. Not a lot of wildlife out today but it was good to get the kiddos out of the house.
Nice entrance with some good nature info. The trails are a nice getaway. Cool tortoise.
Amazing find. This was our first trip. We saw tons of birds, a snake and turtles. Cant wait to come back and visit.
Natural unspoiled old Florida that has nice grass and long leaf pine strewn paths and adequate amenities.Such as bathrooms, picnic tables, niceInformative kiosks explaining what the preserve has to offer. Central Florida hidden gem. Plus it is all free!
Excellent facility well marked and maintained trails
A fun afternoon hike so much cool thing
What a great place to spend a Sunday afternoon! Kids of all ages can walk here. Birds, snakes, fish, plants. This is a hidden gem in Orlando
Small but very nice. Friendly staff. Trail around marshy area was closed due to winter rains. Took the short trail that was opened, but saw no wildlife
Nice place for hiking and viewing nature. Trails were in good shape and the facilities were nice.
Awesome place, we had a great family time...and is free!! Loved it.
Good trails.. would like to have some vending machines for water purchase... some trails were muddy... is not a rainy season now.
Cool place. Good non-touristy spot. Great for a short hike. Feet might get wet!
Really great slice of real Florida. As a landscape architect I would highly recommend!
Great place to visit accompanied or not. Thia is definitely the place to be
A quiet, peaceful and educational place for the whole family. Great information on migrating birds and the cypress trees. Stop by to see Darwin, a 15 year old Sulcata Tortoise from Africa.
Several short hiking loops through a variety of different biomes. A very pleasant way to spend a couple of hours!
Nature Gem in Orlando....Love it ...beautiful preserve and lovely trails and its all free and well maintained....some trails are little water logged but amazing views. Also, the place has visitor center, restrooms and picnic tables.
Loved the quiet beauty of this place.
A very nice place to relax, take a walk in the nature and breath some fresh air...
Amazing place for a stroll amidst nature. You can spot various birds and animals here. Also this place is pretty near Walt Disney theme parks.
It was a great experience walking the trails to see where you might end up with the exception of getting my feet wet lol
