This place is pretty cool. It’s not very big but they have all different kinds of performers. I’ve been multiple times over the years to see different bands and musicians. We recently went to watch The Fab Four, the experience was awesome. We literally have no complaints.

Gave it a four star because the entertainment was awesome. Gaelic Storm has been coming to the Plaza for 10 years. The show was great. But the seats are quite tight and a lot of people had difficulty finding their rows and seat numbers.Granted the Plaza is one of the oldest venues in Orlando. Constructed in 1963 it was the areas first 2-screen movie theater. In the 90s it was converted into a live performance venue. The view of the stage is unobstructed so doesnt seem to be a bad seat in the house. The venue is available for rental besides the scheduled concerts and entertainment.

This place was built in 1963 and it sure smells like it. We were on the balcony to see John Mulaney a few years back. It smelled like mildew, and the balcony is very creaky and felt unstable. I was afraid it would just give in and we’d all fall. The outside definitely felt sketchy, and we didn’t feel safe (especially at night). After learning about what happened to Christina Grimmie there, I don’t think we’d ever go back.

Great venue for live music. Only reason for 4 stars is for the seats. Very pricey for padded folding chairs. other than that this place is great. It doesnt matter what seat you have you still have a great view of the stage.

The concert was wonderful. We saw Jesse Cook with his talented other musicians. There seems to be a lack of communication with the ticket booth and other people involved. The seats are extremely close together. Padded folding chairs that are positioned on the floor touching each other. They needed more help behind the bar. A very long line 20 people waiting, some just wanting a bottle of water like us.

The security was horribly bad. The security was very & extremely unprofessional. It didn’t have any metal detectors including metal detector wands. This is why Christina Grimmie got shot and killed. I will never go there not only the lack of security but also the drinks and snack bars are expensive. The security shouldn’t have let this Kevin James Loibl in, whom he has handgun weapons and a knife. My advice to you is if there is lack of security, the cost of drinks, dirty bathrooms and/or horrible dirty place don’t go there period.

This is a smaller plaza than some of the other concert venues Ive been to. Not really a good or a bad thing in itself, however it did seem more prone to get hot. With that in mind, a small venue gives a more personal experience with whatever artist you are seeing, so Id say it evens out. I do recommend you bring a fan or something to stay cool.

Went to see Pepper. The venue was clean, concrete sloped floor to the stage. Some balcony seating. Not very big, but perfect for lesser named shows. Great sound and lighting. Small stands to buy drinks inside as well as bars in the lobby. Was impressed with the speed of getting in, even though you have to show id and get your arm stamped and hoo through metal detectors. Very professional and friendly staff. Was a great experience.

I have been here twice and hate it. The venue is so run down. Every other or so seats marked with numbers. Sounds system is inadequate. Great for a rock band most pit. Just gross. I only come when its an event I cant miss.

Jesse Cook concert was great but venue could have been better. Seats are folding chairs bolted together, very close together. Bathrooms crowded and paper towel dispenser did not work. No water fountain and you need to wait in the bar line to buy expensive bottled water. This place needs an upgrade.

Ka
Review №23

I will try to clarify the mixed reviews. Yes, the drinks are priced like Disney. Wait in a 1 staff line & get a bottled water for $4. I dont drink, so cant price the alcohol. The concert area is a concrete floor, sloping down, a traditional 1960s theatre design, so yes, every seat has a view (unless you are 52 & the guy in front of you is over 6 - I know from experience). The seats are very poorly marked (look for chalk mark scrawled numbers on the raised seat bottoms), so sometimes the ushers are very busy helping folks find their seats. The central air is inadequate, so sometimes its hot & steamy, and other times its cool. Prepare for both. The seats are their downfall, and if you get a chattier employee, they will tell you part of the reason. First, some concerts have seats & some are SRO. You might want to ask in advance which yours is. Im disabled, so that would be a deal breaker for me. Standing on a sloping concrete floor for hours? Id be toast. But permanent seats are impossible because they have to remove them for certain shows. What are the seats like? They are sturdy (I have seen them hold 400+ lb concertgoers without a creak) & have a medium padding, but thats it for the plus side. They are also attached edge to edge with other seats, and open at the lower back, with little foot room, hip room, shoulder room. The staff is primarily young, so that must account for some of their lack of concern. The open backs provide no lumbar support, so I find myself squirming & fidgeting to ease my back pain. I have yet to attend a concert where I didnt become intimately familiar with my neighbors hips & shoulders...to the point that I could feel the music tempo to which theyre moving. Seriously! And I am not huge. I am an average middle aged woman, again, 52, and I have to sit with my body canted diagonally, my arm behind my former linebacker husband, just so he can fit, also sitting diagonally, one leg in the aisle, balancing part of his 6+ frame throughout the show. Its crazy! (Think of a plane seat.) But I give you these details so you can understand the mixed reviews. If youre a skinny young staffer type, you wont understand the complaints. If youre a normal sized over-40 patron, you will want to know these things.I saw quite a few people using canes at the last show. I hope they did better than I. During the concert I balanced my purse & bottled water in my lap*, and held my cane upright between my knees. Several times, though, with the fidgeting, my cane fell down & hit the stranger beside me. Thankfully, he understood. If the shows werent so good, I wouldnt even go back. As it is, my husband & I both require taking in advance a Vicodin & a muscle relaxer to take the edge off the pain caused by these seats during the concert (though the pain does break through). We hurt through the next day, too. *Remember, the floor is sloped concrete. Dont put your drink or purse on the floor. If you move in the tight leg area, or someone tries to walk past you to a middle seat, there likely will be a spill. And if someone behind you has a spill, it WILL roll downhill...like a beer did last concert.

Ive been to this venue for two shows and really enjoyed it. I like that the floor is sloped so that if youre further back, you can still get a good view of the stage. Theres also a mezzanine if youd like to sit and watch from above! My only complaint is that the barricade at the very front has a little platform of a couple inches which the first two rows get to stand on. That means if youre third from the front its really hard to see unless youre super tall. But otherwise, great venue.

Fun little place. Love that it has a very intimate setting so it’s like no matter where you’re sitting, you have a great seat to see the stage and you’re close. The venue alone is alright. But the security gaurds are a bunch of kooks! Tried to confiscate a friends go pro for filming the show even though everyone was filming on their phones? Opening act gave out free rave masks but the securitu guards announced that ANYONE wearing the mask would be kicked out with no refund .In another instance one of my friends was kicked out for crowd surfing at a rock show. And another time for sitting down in the lobby to take a break was threatened to be kicked out.The security guards are power hungry and will find any reason to throw someone out without a refund

Snarky Puppy was amazing, of course, but thats not what earned this venue 5 stars. Parking was free, bar prices were reasonable, seats were decently comfortable, but still not 5-star worthy. What really got the 5, what really pushed it over the edge and made The Plaza Live stand out from other music venues was that they. kept. it. brisk. It was nice and chilly at the start, and by concerts end when youre usually sweaty and uncomfortable in a room full of people and hot lights, the temperature was still pleasant. If more venues learned to crank the AC, concerts would be more enjoyable across the board. Well done, Plaza. Thanks for a great night.

Parking lot is huge, and parking is free. Saw a rock concert so there was no seating in general admission, but there where seats in the balcony. The floor is sloaped so everyone was able to see. The drinks were a bit pricey, but its Orlando was not suprised. They did have a bit of an issue with the VIP passes, not sure if it was an issue with the AXS ticket app or the venue or simply operator error, but they did work diligently to correct it. Leaving the venue was easy, it was really close to SR 50 so there were no confusing roads to have to navigate. All in all we had an amazing time here.
