Pretty decent park I enjoy skating there, the halfpipe a little torn up but it does its job
This is a unique Skatepark to say the least...To start, the miniramp/vert is perfect. One of the best around. The rest of the park is pretty random, but it definitely makes it unique. The snake run, isnt really a snake run, but it is fun to ride down. They have random rails throughout the park, as well as ledges. The concrete is rough, but definitely not the worst. The street section however, is awkward. Not enough run up for certain things, and ledges too small to grind on. If youre looking for something different, this may be your park.Parking however, is confusing. We parked in a parking lot far away and had to walk. From what we could tell, theres no direct road leading to this place. Its in a weird location.
Terrible park, nothing is waxed, a park without metal coping on ledges? what is this? no where near a skatepark. just get rid of it entirely
Grinding Edge is a unique skatepark in Chicagoland. It has a neat concrete ribbon and a few places to do tricks. Its great for all ages.
Poorly designed park. 6 ft mini Ramp is decent but badly weathered. Street course and bowl are a joke. Bowl has terrible construction joints like a sidewalk making it un-skateable. Obviously NOT designed by skaters.
The only snake run near by. Unimpressive bowl large gap at bottom of transition, halfpipe is 24 wide 6 foot with 8 foot extension. Granite manny pad. Unique banked feature with hips and stair section. The overall impression is not great. It has many good features that give you a place tear it up. Glad to have a park for everyone who like ride.
Me and my son had lots of fun!
Fun place for beginners (snake run). The coping on the transition sits a little too low to grind
This was a fun park. They have an old school slalom course, Ledges and grind rails in a good line set up. Bigger halve pipe and good bowl. Its mostly down hill so you dont have to put much effort into the grinding lines.
Nice park. Clean and decent features. Half pipe is a little worn, but not bad.
Really awesome park! Cool snake-like humongous ramp. They made a very good use of the hill, with many bowls. Very high speed ramps and hills. Can be dangerous like any park, but you got to find your own comfort level. I would recommend a bike or penny board for the asphalt road. The regular concrete snake is good for everything, although bikes can be hard to maneuver on it. High five to the Orland Park District!
Orland demolished the whole skate park. Apparently they’d rather have their kids doing blo than engaging in a hobby so close to their other amenities.Really annoyed to find this out after making the trip there. Why is it still listed as open?
People are saying that this park doesnt exist. Simply untrue as I skated it yesterday.
Whoever designed and oversaw this project clearly does not skate. No coping on bowl or snake run, but coping (not high enough to be skateable) on flat ramps. 8 ledges situated 3 after 2/3 stair drops. The only decent feature is the mini ramp, which was almost wide enough to earn this travesty another star. What a waste of taxpayer money. Hire a competent consultant/contractor next time.
Grinding Edge is definitely a great place with a great location.
Unfortunately the skate park is 100% concrete so when the kids fall, they fall HARD. Needs updating asap.
It was great
