Beautiful studios and the staff is wonderful. Even though my 4 year old daughter has been struggling with separation anxiety again after the initial Covid-19 lockdown (she had previously worked up to confidence about going to ballet class last year, but weve taken steps backward), the Ballet 5:8 staff has been so kind, patient and accommodating the entire time! I couldnt ask for more, plus knowing that my daughter is always learning and having fun in her classes.

Ballet 5:8 School of the Arts is a great place to work! All of my colleagues bring a wealth of knowledge to the classroom from their professional dancing experience. We focus on creating an environment where students thrive physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

My son and my daughter both briefly took classes here right up until the covid thing hit. They loved it. I never was able to go and watch, but my wife did. She would come home telling me great stories of friendly and professional instructors who seemed to personally care about these kids learning ballet.When covid hit, we hit some major financial difficulties immediately and we were not ready for it. We stopped the classes obviously, but we received bills for the kids a few times. We paid no attention and did not pay them, as the kids werent doing the online classes. But then we received past due emails and responded.We were quite bothered to receive the bills, yet the responses were very respectful. They ended up completely canceling our balance with the exception of maybe $30ish dollars. They also took off some other fees. When I read the email, I was speechless with gratitude. We were in a very tough spot and they took care of us.If you want to enroll your children in a professional ballet school with high quality instruction, Im sure you can find one anywhere near Chicago. But Ballet 5 8 fits this description and also conducts their business with integrity. Good people. I cant say enough or give enough praise for this ballet school.Thanks for treating us with respect and clearing our bill. We are in a better place financially and when things relax a bit, we will return here to enroll our children again.Highly recommended.

Great place to experience dance in an intimate space. Staff are consciencous and gracious, and the dance company brilliantly shine truth.

Ballet 5:8 is truly phenomenal in every way possible. They instruct the students in a heartfelt manner by teaching them ballet technique, a love of dance, a genuine compassion for the fellow dancers in their class and an overall spiritual guidance in life. My daughter has learned an incredible amount and loves attending ballet every week, as her teachers are truly interested in making it worthwhile. She especially loves the full ballets she gets to participate in twice a year. It is highly unique that students my daughters age ever get the opportunity to be in a full ballet with professional/company dancers, yet this is possible at Ballet 5:8. She anticipates and talks about the upcoming performances nearly everyday. Ballet 5:8 definitely deserves a five star rating as I am immensely appreciative of the entire experience!

My daughter had a nice teacher but she did not learn very much at all. They do not seem to be geared for little kids under the age of 10. I signed up my daughter for a school year long class so she could participate in the Spring recital which was a full ballet. The ballet was nice but they did very little to incorporate the younger girls. For all the time and money and volunteering that families were expected to do, it was extremely disappointing to see the the younger school age kids on stage for a total of only 5 minutes or so for a 2 hour long program. All children matter! Age should NOT be the deciding factor. My daughters class was only taught 1 dance for an entire year! She began to get bored with the class and wanted to learn more but nothing new was ever introduced. Young children have a lot to offer as well. In the future, I hope this organization is able to develop a recital for young children as well so that they can have their well deserved time to shine on stage.

This studio and company are first rate in every way. The school is dedicated to teaching dance with excellence and integrity. The professional company performances are amazing- I try not to miss them. Such a joy to have this group in Chicagoland!!

My three kids adore their classes and teachers! As a former dancer myself I am so grateful to have an environment where I can trust that my kids have quality teaching and tons of fun at the same time!

I took my niece here for lessons and I wasn’t pleased. Her instructor (short blonde hair) was very unprofessional. I even over heard her talking to her friend/boyfriend while she was supposed to be teaching my niece! Will not return.Edit; they were on the phone not in person. Sad that the owners have to create their own 5 star reviews!

Amazing! Wonderful!! Im so very pleased and blessed by Ballet 5:8! My daughters love their teachers and all the staff! Everyone is genuinely loving and care about their students. The environment is one of a family that invests in not only the capabilities of ones dance but also their spiritual health. Cannot recommend them enough!!

Registered my daughter for the toddler class and it completely did not meet my expectations. The instructor is polite but has no idea how to properly run a dance class for two year olds.Asking two year old students to wait while other students do activities one at a time is not the best way to manage a class of two year old girls. The last class we went to, the girls were running all over the place and the parents all just looked around trying to figure out what to do.I was disappointed and emailed them with my concerns and was pretty much told that my daughter was having a hard time in the class because shes 20 months old and not 24 months old. Totally insulting and dismissive of the actual problem- the class management and structure of the class. When I requested to be disenrolled, I was told that I still have to pay for a portion of the remaining classes- so now not only am I unsatisfied with the class, but Im being punished for wanting to leave! I cant believe it and will not be returning or recommending any parents to this business. DO NOT GO HERE, if you dislike the class or instructor, they will punish you for leaving.

Ballet 5:8 has been a wonderful experience for my daughters. The teachers are amazing and very loving to my girls and they are wonderfully knowledgeable in ballet. I also love that ballet 5:8 is rooted in Christ base dancing. We are so pleased to be apart of such a great company!

I would advise against attending these summer intensives. You will not be provided adequate meals (especially if you have allergies), be largely ignored and ostracized if you are from another studio, and worst of all, be taught dubious spiritual teachings. We were told in no uncertain terms that having an eating disorder or simply feeling uncomfortable with your body is a sin. This is both bad theology and incredibly damaging to young, vulnerable ballerinas. Oh yeah, and refunds? Forget about it. I regret ever having spent a cent on this place.

I definitely recommend Ballet 5:8 because not only do they have excellent teachers, their integrity and biblical principles are unique, which makes for invaluable teaching that can’t be learned at just any dance school. I really like that their class sizes are kept smaller so the students have an opportunity to learn and grow by receiving more personal attention. My daughter loves it there and so do I.

We have done both tap and ballet at the satellite Valpo campus and our daughter loves it! Caring teachers and staff. Very fun and friendly atmosphere. Our daughter has gained confidence and self esteem since joining. We highly recommend this program.

I am so glad I have found such a dedicated and quality staff. I take adult tap and ballet here and the staff is wonderful and very accommodating. I have learned a great deal and am grateful for the ability to learn about dance with Ballet5:8
