Great place to watch the sunset as well have some fun on the beach with kids. This has great walking paths as well as biking path. Lots of space and has a campground too nearby. We spotted some deer which were crossing the path. Have to explore the nearby path which goes through the park.

Excellent camping areas. Very clean restrooms with hot, clean showers! We really enjoyed ourselves. The hiking and boardwalk was great! The Ottawa National Wildlife refuge, Howard Metro park, and Magee Marsh offer excellent trails, great birding, and we viewed many animals this week. Bike paths in Maumee Bay state park are very good!

First time in the area wanted to go to a park. Man this place didn’t disappoint it was BEAUTIFUL very peaceful. Nice breeze watched the sun go down. Pink and orange sky with a light wave crash on the very soft rock/sand beach. Just don’t be like me and drop your phone between the big rocks to get a picture. I was very lucky I could get it back. LOL

Great place for a day trip with kids. The trails (we access from the one that is next to the playground, nature centre entrance is closed) are really pretty and it took us about an hour to do the whole loop. Highly recommended!

Most excellent State Park camping. A bit of a schlep to Maumee Bay, but a few minute drive or a bike ride. Lots of bike riding. Sites are spacious and feel private. We stayed in #30, with 30-amp. Water and dump station available. Great bird watching. Highly recommend.

Great Park with the Beach, rocks, fountain, marina and awesome trails. Really nice atmosphere at the evening with illuminated fountain. Maybe it would need more trash cans and benches around, but still pretty clean. Spent really good time there.

We checked in the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and stayed until this morning. The check-in process was smooth and much to our surprise, the indoor pool was open to guests provided they called to schedule a one hour time slot. When we arrived to our cottage, we were greeted by deer roaming at the front of the driveway. The description online was fairly accurate - there was a kitchen large enough for one with service for 7, plenty of dish soap, and a drying rack. We were a little disappointed in the bed in the master bedroom as it was listed as a queen but was only a full (at 8 months pregnant, I take up a lot of room). It was your standard coil mattress with 4 fluffy pillows (we bring our own thankfully). No TV in the bedroom; however, there was a small deck off the master bedroom which was quite nice. Moving on to the bathroom, the counter top was clearly damaged with the bottom separating from the top, the mirror was scratched up at the bottom, the toilet was very low to the ground (Im used to a slightly elevated seat... again, pregnant), and the wall enclosing the shower had damage from the door handle banging into it. We had plenty of towels which was very nice but what wasnt was the sensitivity of the shower control. Move it just a little to one side, water was scorching and just a little to the opposite side, freezing cold. Basically, once you find the sweet spot, DO NOT move the handle. The set up of the living room area was odd. There was a couch with a coffee table but if sitting there, you could not view the television. We moved one of the oversized chairs over so they were side-by-side in order to view the TV. The fireplace was nice, very useful and the selection of channels was great! We brought our Roku to binge watch one of our shows but when we werent using it, there was plenty else to watch. Other than the furnishings being somewhat dated, the comfort level was good. One final note, the central heat/air seemed to be a little possessed. Even when the heat was clearly set to OFF, it would randomly start circulating. As someone who requires it cold to sleep, having the heat come back on at random intervals when the system wasnt on, was a little inconvenient and creepy. All-in-all, I would still recommend the cottages for a short stay.

Wont be going back until after restrictions are lifted. Would have been nice to be notified of specifics when booking. Not worth over $300/night with many things being closed. Can only swim for booked time slot of one hour only. Hot tubs are closed, sauna is closed. Was told we could not rent bikes due to a wedding, however we saw many others on them throughout the evening.

It was a good experience to be there. We had a great time. We enjoyed a lot as we played games, grilled and saw beautiful sunset. We had a small picnic there though it was very hot day. I think you can go and enjoy there with your family & friends and also maintain distance from others in thi pandemic time.

I went there with my family a few weeks ago. It was so nice, cozy, and outdoorsy! We had a nice cabin with 2 twin beds, a bunk bed, and a king size bed. There was lots of room and I really liked the bathroom. Also we veiwed lots of wildlife. Like we saw jumping fish, deer, and lots of frogs! I really enjoyed my stay and all the incredible lake views. Definitely recommend staying here!

The lodge at Maumee Bay State Park may be the best in the state. The campgrounds are immaculate with plenty of space for even the biggest campers. The friendly campground hosts do a great job keeping each spot nice and tidy for the next camper. Plenty of trails for biking, walking, and birding. Will definitely go back!

Absolutely gorgeous. We sat by the water and did the board walk. There was one board loose, but considering its older than me I wasnt upset. Parking is easy to find and the park is super clean. Would recommend you stop here if youre in town!

Believe it or not it near perfect!!! for tent camping also if you can get a big enough spot we got one close to the potty .. very quiet even though theres a lot of campers! Some raccoons out at night dont leave your trash out at night!!

LOVE my maumee bay state park. Great campground with lots of trees, ponds, playgrounds, spacious sites. Good multipurpose trails all around the park, nice boardwalk and nature center, beautiful beach and lodge. Lots of places to fish

Loved the place. The narrow trails through the marshes is beautiful. The flora and fauna on each side remains untouched by humans. Its wonderful to see the different birds, bees, small animals in the area. After looping around the trail, we sit by the water on the sets and watch the sunset.

It was a rainy day that I visited, but even thought it was overcast the trail was lovely. Saw a variety of creatures such as frogs, muskrats, and snakes! There were quite a few of others on this trail, but it was very beautiful.

It was an awesome experience to be there. Wonderful place to hang out and rewind. Very nice people from all nationality just enjoy the day and water. Pet friendly and i loved that .The water was amazing with my kiddos to swim. I loved it with my family.I look forward to be there again very much.

Maumee bay is a very nice waterfront and beach. It is clean, well kept with available activities from picnic area to biking trails. There are facilities which are spaced well. Parking lots are ample and free for visitors.

Really nice place if youre bringing a party. The beach is nice to walk through and its very large. There is a lot of parking and it wasnt too hard to find a table. Getting to the park was easy and worth the drive. Im from Michigan and I would drive the 2 hours to come back here again sometime.

It was so nice to be out camping. With Covid still going on in the middle of summer, there was plenty of distance and privacy between camping sites. People were swimming in Lake Erie and the inland swimming area with no noticable algae bloom. Bring bicycles and or kayaks. A $50 canopy is good for shade from the house sun and or rain. The electric was nice even though we only used tents. We had a fan in the tent. Wish we would have brought decorative camping lights. Bathrooms clean. Camping hosts attentive and friendly.

Beautiful place for couples and family. Although the lodge was closed (open next week) We were still able to walk the grounds and enjoy. LOVED how we were literally sitting on the edge of the river beautiful view.

One of the best campgrounds I’ve ever been to! For RV camping all of the slabs are flat and have a little tree/shrub barrier between all of them for great privacy. Bathrooms and sights were clean.

Go here every year. I used to live in Oregon miss being able to drive to the beach.

If you want to see Lake Erie, you can through Maumee Bay. Went here several times 3 days in a row. The boardwalk in the morning was gorgeous and unique. There are the tiniest lily pads I have ever seen. There is a small museum (nature center) where you can learn about the area. Lots of educational signs on the path. Then the Bay is accessible at several points and has a beach. Plenty of parking. There was a Lighthouse Festival that looked fun too.

Ohio State Park lodges are wonderful. This one is right along Lake Erie. So its an hour and a half drive from the metropolitan area. Their dining room & Lounge had great food at reasonable prices. If youre 65 or older they have great room rates from after Labor Day till Memorial Day.

The campsite layout was great. A hedge, trailer/car pad, grassy area for tents, and fire pit, then another hedge made for a spacious and private campsite. The restrooms were clean. One downside, the trash disposal is at the entrance to park. Some folks were using the trash in the the bathroom for dog poo.It is great for birding and cycling.

Love the park! Lots of trails to walk and usually meet interesting people. The sledding hill is great to hike in summer and awesome in the snow

We enjoyed a few days of beauty and peacefulness in perfect surroundings. The rooms are perfect, activities for everyone, service was friendly and timely.... food was exceptional and the servers were great especially our server Jennifer!! Well certainly be back. Thanks to all!

Beautiful campground at a lovely time of year (mid-October). They are managing covid restrictions very well. Well definitely be back.

I love this state park. Part of the park is reserved for RV/primitive camping and sits segregated from the rest of the park with bike and hiking trail access around. The public side of the park included many bike and hiking trails along with several fishing ponds and both an inland lake and lake Erie beach access. Always worth visiting for even just a walk.

Beautiful park along the lake. A lot of wildlife and easy to navigate on the boardwalks. Kids loved watching all the deer and birds.

The campground is A+, love it there.So many trails for walking and biking.Lake Erie is a fun and relaxing place to spend time with family and friends.

I love this park a lot, not many things to do in this area but Maumee bay is always fun. Beautiful scenery and never too big of a crowd except for at the swimming areas. The games in the arcade however sometimes take my money & the bathroom is a little small. Other than that I really feel like this is a great place to be and i really enjoy when i get to go to maumee bay.

Beautiful for camping, especially if youre not trying to be off-the-grid or very far from civilization. The beach is beautiful, especially at sunset. I HIGHLY recommend getting a campsite for when Phantom Fireworks does the fireworks show, its free and its absolutely beautiful. The beaches always have a lot of goose poop down by the water and I dont know that Id let the kids go in the water. They have signs posted about the bacteria but people seem to go in anyway. Overall very nice place to be.

What a beautiful place!!! The birds there are incredible during fall migration. And the boardwalk area is extensive.

By far one of the best family beaches I have ever been to. Amazing amount of space. Warm shallow water...long parkway for skating etc..swinging benches all over the beach edge..bathroom and porta potties all over. Grills and picnic tables everywhere.

Being from the Jersey Shore this is the closet we get to the water. Besides missing the salty air, it is a beautiful shoreline. Plenty of room to stretch out, benches, and a few picnic tables. We really enjoy the park.

Pretty good eating. Got the perch sandwich and it was very good, 3 large filets on it. I also enjoyed the chips and salsa, both homemade. The salsa was like right out of the garden. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars is the onion rings (which werent bad) were overly battered. I would visit again when in the area

Absolutely beautiful. Deer walk across the road in front of you as if youre not even there. Beach is clean. The whole place is clean. Crews working constantly to keep it clean.... everyone is having fun and social distancing

We stayed at the campground and our family loved it here. Beaches and bike paths are great fun. Took in multiple sunsets from the beach as everyone was leaving and highly recommend. The inland lake was also a blast to kayak on.

Tee time for 430,they said the carts need to be in at 730 so we could only play 9 holes.played the 9 holes in an hour 1/2 and still wouldnt let us play another 9.I DROVE AN HOUR TO PLAY THERE AND WAS TOLD NO FOR 18 AFTER I PROVED I PLAY FAST.I GUESS GOLF CARTS ARE MORE IMPORTANT THEN GOLFERS...AND MONEY.

Nice large grassy sites with trees and shrubs to visually block neighboring camp sites. Nice bike trails. Wonderful beach. You dont have to drive for hours to have a wonderful camping weekend.

Warm summer night, where you can see the stars in the sky and the warmth of the water, with your friend or significant other. Nice place to relax or romance a special one at. Also you can drive out and watch the sunrise over the water. 5/5!!

We stopped in for the day hoping to spend some time on the beach and in Lake Erie. We were able to have lunch on a very nice beach, but due to the algae exposure the signs said stay out of the water. We obeyed the signs.There were plenty of boardwalks, trails and things to do. They do have a campground and cabins. They have tons of parking at the beach. They also have an inland small lake to swim as well. But the bacteria was elevated. I am sure this is very nice earlier in the summer.

If 1/2 star was an option I would think it would be generous.Golf, restaurant,and lodge is way over priced!! The food at restaurant is terrible! Did I mention way over priced?No boat ramp to access the best asset it has,,, lake erie. Place is a joke!!

Well kept, lots of ponds and walking. Beach was kept really nice as well. Saw a bunch of wildlife including about 8 deer.

For a beach in Ohio it was a great experience. The beaches were clean. Lots of bathroom facilities and the water didnt get too deep too fast for the kids. We will definitely visit again when COVID is over.

No water at the sites,they do have electric,sites are well defined and are separated nicely, updated showers and restrooms. Swimming is offered as the lake beach, smaller inlet beach, and indoor outdoor pool at lodge. They offer a restaurant which is located in the lodge.pets are welcomed in the campground, biking and hiking trails, boat docks for lake access

I had no idea that there were fishing ponds. There are many places in the shade away from people that you can find. Plenty of space for social distancing!

Absolutely beautiful! The trails had wooden planks so it was very easy to to walk on.

Park needs wifi and more water hook ups. Otherwise the park is clean, well maintained, and absolutely beautiful.

Very nice park. My husband and I drove there just to see the beach and get out the house. There is plenty of parking. We drove by the many cottages which has plenty of parking and they are a pretty good size. Drove by the nature center. The only thing that you cant see is the campground because theres like a guardshack and you gotta have a pass. We literally drove around and checked out everything

It used to be a Great Lake and good beach, but the factories around the lake did their best to pollute the lake and mix it with toxins, now the water is stinky and green ! Can’t even step into that ! But the bike trails, and walking paths around are great !

I took my wife and dog for a morning walk down the waters edge of the beach. It was clean, not crowded and pleasant. We noted that there were no trash cans along the strand or in the parking lot. We walked a quarter mile to a dumpster to drop off trash we generated.

Cleanest, most private, perfect campsites EVER! Absolutely beautiful! Lake is beautiful and lots of trails for hiking and biking.

They have MINKS! As a construction worker I seal my boots with mink oil. At the nature center they have a 7 mile boardwalk that can be done in 2 miles depending on how many laps you make. We ran into a group of girl scout moms at the lodge. They had some brownies for us; which our bachelor party ate up. Waliball courts and shuffle board provide hours of time for senior citizens. The horse shoe area was newly remodeled. Each stay is subject to an automatic 3 percent Beautification donation; the front desk will drop upon request.

Clean and peaceful. Has a lot of parking space available and is perfect for a socially distant day at the beach

Had a fun weekend! Camping spots are large and quite private. We enjoyed the inland lake for both fishing and kayaking. They have a large beach, too!Only thing I didnt like is when everyone is leaving, they all line up for the dump station, leaving a single lane road on a curve. Its a bit dangerous.Lots of dogs....

Ive been going here every year since I was born and love it! A beautiful state park with lots of wildlife. Walking the boardwalk trail is always such a treat. I cant recommend it highly enough!

The sites here are spacious with a small stand of bushes and trees between each site. The lawn areas, which are numerous, are well-mowed so you can walk your dog without fear of ticks. Id have given it five stars if they had full hookups though, of course, state parks rarely do. Everything is well-maintained and the park employees are friendly. Id definitely stay here again.

Im 15 from MI, brought here against my will with family for a couple of days, unhappy but not surprised with the lack of mask wearing. Fully aware it was my familys choice to come during a pandemic, just a bit discouraged by what Ive seen. But thats Ohio for you. Decent lodge and outdoor space though. My grandmother enjoyed it after being locked down alone for ages.

Bird watching is phenomenal here, as long as people respect the property and each other in terms of space and quiet. The boardwalk is in disrepair and could use some attention.

The campsites are nice. They are paved and level. They are also kind of private with tree or bushes in between each sight.

I love being near Lake Erie. We had another year with beautiful weather for our anniversary.

Super nice park! The camping is great! The public beach is very large. Lots to do here, a nature walk, golf course hotel with pool, Restaurants and store.

This park is really nice for camping. We were on lot #35. There are trees between each lot that give privacy. The bathrooms are clean. And I loved swimming (much warmer than I expected).

So amazing I loved it I definitely will be back the only thing is I went during the Covid time period so some of the bathrooms was closed lol but they still had some open so that was fun I recommend everyone go out and have a great fun time for the whole family or just by yourself

I went to the man made area to swim with my kids had a great time its alot better than swimming out in the actual lake. Was a bit chilly cause of the wind but I was my fault knew it wasnt gonna be that warm today!

Quiet and private camping area. Nice, scenic hike and bike trails within a short distance of Lake Erie and the beach.

Perfect getaway for a day or a short weekend/week. Nice beach for swimming, and a break wall that makes for great fishing.

Great place to explore as a family. Sandy beaches in summer. Sledding and cross country skiing in winter. The nature center and boardwalk are treasures. Picnic along the lake and take in the views. Grab an ice cream from the hotel and your day is complete.
