The play was delightful. It was remenicient of a Monty Python production in which the audience was encouraged to participate. The actors were extremely good. I thoroughly enjoyed myself to the extent that I became a season ticket holder.

Weve enjoyed several high quality plays and reads from the CRT. All of them are well done, and they have good community outreach through the kids program. The demographic here is 60+, and the style of the CRT appeals to that age group.

We just saw Queens Girl In The World - a marathon performance by Lauren Steele, playing 14 roles in a two-act play. It took gumption to bring a play about a young black girl growing up in Queens to a stage in lily white Clackamas County, and bravo to Clackamas Rep, playwright Caleen Sinnette Jennings, and Lauren Steele for making it happen. The play recalls the 1960s from the perspective of Jacqueline, torn between her black life in Queens and her different life at a private school in Manhattan. The playwright takes us back to the beginnings of the civil rights movement, but doesnt batter us into a misery. The ending will surprise.

Professional theater without going downtown! Clackamas Rep presents very well done plays on the roomy but intimate Osterman Theater stage at Clackamas Community College. Every step of the way, this company offers a wonderful theatrical experience., from personal phone calls and emails to remind you that performances are selling fast, and helping select the best seats to excellent casting and directing. The set changes at this theater company are always entertaining and add to the fun. There is not a bad seat in the theater. Also, plenty of parking, and its free! Do yourself a favor and see what this great theater company has to offer. I did, and now I rarely miss a play!

Attended South Pacific last night (08.22.2019) with my wife and 13 and 9 year old daughters. I Love this musical, we love this musical. I was Emile in a performance 19 years ago. We entered with emotionally driven high standards. The performance was astounding... period.Intimate venue with terrific sight lines and excellent crisp balanced sound and every cast member had excellent mic ( was a bit bright, needing a bit of softening and reverb ). Great simple lighting, Excellent stage set that was efficient but full and very flexible without feeling reused. Good costumes and use of props and excellent flow and set changes ( curtain mechanism was super loud ... need to replace that). The cast was really really good. If I had seen this very show at the keller as part of the Broadway Across America series I would have been contented. Emile / Michael Sharon was a very convincing French man who had my wife swooning, great voice, professional diction and phrasing and restraint was used in the volume of the delivery ... he exuded a great personality and delivery of his emotions. You cant have a love story with a disappointing frenchman.Nellie / Kelly Sina was the real suprise... her Arkansas accent was ridiculously Arkansassy and her own. She had superb mannerisms and expressed all the little gears turning in her head on her face and you felt part of her working through her fears, bigotry, excitement, pressures, regrets, risks, and decisions. He voice was very good but more so used expertly to craft the right rawness, cavalierness, tenderness that the moment demanded. She had a slightly unhinged quality that was truly charming leaving me jealous of Emile. They made a convincing couple. Bloody Mary /Kelsey Hoeffel was as convincing as any I have ever seen. Her tonkinese accent was authentic, her curiosity real, her brashness belivevable, her obstinance adorable and her voice and movements perfect. She held her presence amongst the very formidable seabee cast. Billis / Joshua Johnson was simply perfect. He had an asinine charisma that was perfect with just enough tenderness to prove that his dedication to Nellie was real and that his honey buns act, which brought down the house, was was comfortably uncomfortable. Stew pot/ Jesse Cromer, Hassinger / Ts McCormick, Professor / Matt Cornett were a great rat pack and had strong voices, great mannerisms and solid stage presence.Lt. Cable / Adam Davis was a solid Marine and a wonderful lutellen and displayed his convictions in his songs with gritty authenticity. Cptn Bracket / David Brown and Cmdr Harbison / RichardcLee both delivered their characters fully. Yeoman Herbert / Brandon McFarland was slightly funny. The balance of the cast was excellent too ... they each deserve to be acknowledged. There was no weakness in any one on the stage. The ensembles were strong, loud and joyous but always melodic, with great harmonies and no a wry notes or hollowness. It is apparent they all had a great team directing them - the blocking was spot on, the acting was powerful, and the whole flow was smooth, robust, and balanced. The live music was excellent, and the vocal coach and choreographer deserve a standing ovation ... the set and costumes where pleasing to look at, the kinetics and flow was pleasing to watch, the acting and singing was very pleasing to hear, and the whole experience delivered with not a single thing lacking. Everyone involved should be proud of bringing such a successful execution of such a great musical to us.
