Great place to play. Good amount of challenge for any golfer with elevation changes, water, bunkers and more. No sharp doglegs but a good variety of bag management decision making when navigating the course. The staff is great. Makes for a fun round and their food holds up too!

Highly recommend. Great course, especially in the winter. Unbelievably firm with all the rain the past few months. Greens roll true but are tricky with plenty of undulations. This course has lots of character and some tricky holes on the back side.

I want to thank the AMAZING staff at Stone Creek for their exemplary customer service and attention to detail. The course is in top notch condition. The greens are fast, but fair. The views are to die for. Be ready for the back nine, it is much tougher than the front.

It is great to have Stone Creek reopened and they have done nice job of setting up flow through the clubhouse and reminders on the course of physical distancing and Covid-19 precautions. The course is in good shape and very enjoyable. The front 9 is my favorite but the challenges of the back are an important part of the value they bring. They honor NW Golf Guys 2 for 1 coupons which make it a great value!.

Played here Sunday. Course was in fantastic condition. All elements..greens, tees, fairways, rough, traps..absolutely superb. If youre going to spend up just a tad, youll feel good about it, because the conditions and service make it a great value. This is an open to public venue with a course that gives it a private club..tournament conditions feel. The greens roll smooth and quick, they hold a shot or chip perfectly. Cant say enough good things about it, and this is coming from someone with 40 years in the golf business.

Its a fun course, with several unique holes and challenges. Front is open, the back is closed in and hilly. Well manicured. Plays like 2 different courses. Its like most other courses these days, pace of play can get slow at times, but thats just the way it is when you try to pack so many on at once. No matter how much you hound folks to step it up, when the the course is packed with tee times under 10 minutes apart, you are going to be standing around waiting. One reviewer said it seems like people walking are getting tired on the back nine, that certainly may be the case as the back nine is a tough walk. We only play here a few times a year because, quite frankly, its kind of an expensive course to play. But, its in a great location and gets lots of play. Thats the only reason I cant give 5 stars. Modest clubhouse, but they have about everything you might want, drinks, snacks, sandwiches, equipment.

Stone Creek is an excellent golf course that is extremely well managed and maintained. The course is a solid test of golf; the back side is particularly demanding. The greens are currently in the best shape I can remember. Folks in the pro shop treat customers (guests) more like they were at a private than a public course.Stone Creek is a terrific place to play!

Went golfing there for the first time. They have really good early bird rates considering how nice the course is. However, it is a tough course with a lot of tall fescue grass... so bring a lot of golf balls if you aren’t a good player. I wish the clubhouse had better food options, but overall it’s a beautiful course to play.

Great golf course to play in the winter. It stays pretty dry even after it rains. I also really like the layout of the course. The front nine is very wide open without a whole lot of trees, but the back nine is surrounded by trees on nearly every hole.

Review №50

First time on the course. Nice facility but bit crowded for my liking. I guess it whst I should expect on a public owned course. Back is tougher than the front and holes 12 through 16 are a bit odd and an attempt to maximize space I suppose. Not much use for driver here unless you have lots of control. Well kept, but starter packs them on which ruins it for me.

I play here all the time! Its my favorite course and best value in my opinion. The greens are always in great shape. Practice area is great. Payed 32$ for twighlight with a cart on 4/26...my round started at 4:45, i finished in less than 3 hours and could have played the first 3 or 4 holes before the cart needed to be in the barn. Best conditions for the $ most of the year.

Bo
Review №59

Played this course three times and never finished a round. The last three holes are slow to play due to the terrain. There was always two or three groups backed up on the closing holes while people are walking aimlessly looking for their ball. By this part of the course people are tired if they are walking which slows down play.I reported the slow play in the club house all three times and the staff was kind enough to give me a rain check each time for 9 holes. Ill never use them as I wont be going back.Perhaps they should consider reversing the nines to speed up that part of the course.

The course is a pleasure to play. Back 9 is more challenging than the front 9. Great course layout with some unique holes. Staff is friendly and helpful. Would never hesitate to play this course. Great specials on early bird and twilight rates. When family and friends visit from out of state I take them to Stone Creek for that great Northwest setting.

Actually a great course that drains exceptionally well in the rain...can be a bit moist and muddy in the low places. Your shot making has to be spot on for the back 9...definitely a must play course.

Stone Creek Golf Club combines two types of courses in one: The front 9 is links-style and the back 9 is a modern northwest golf course with lots of forest and wetlands. One of the only courses in Oregon where its playable all year round. This golf course is one of the best in the Portland-Metro area.

Update: Over the last year I have been gradually playing more here having an open mind and giving it another chance since I live off one of the fairways. After I had wrote my original post, I had discussions with the general manager and he and the staff have tried to make things right. I always try to be fair and I think it is fair to say that the staff has done that. Most of the staff has been friendly and I definitely have to give props to Eddie. He know me by name and after our initial heated discussion, we have many very friendly cordial conversations. He really tries to be helpful and I respect the effort he hast put in. I am updating my rating to 4 stars as customer service was the issue for the initial 1 star rating. The course itself is always in good shape and challenging enough for my game. I agree with other posters that sometimes the pace of play is extremely slow. If that gets fixed then this is a 5 star course. I am keeping my initial post below just to show that everybody deserves a second chance and sometimes it works out for the better. Initial post - I just bought a new home right next to the golf course and was excited to be next to the course. That came to a crashing halt a couple weeks ago. I had bought a yearly range pass, which I have hit 3 large buckets so far this year and most likely would have hit a dozen large buckets in that year timeframe with my schedule. My friend and I went to play 18 and I had gotten a bucket of balls to warm up with. We proceeded to go to the range and I dumped about a 1/4 of my bucket out and told my buddy to help himself (mind you there were half buckets of balls all over the range). Come to find out I had been followed out to the driving range by a staff member who proceeded to yell at me from about 30 yards away stating how inappropriate I was and was breaking the rules. Mind you that the range was full of patrons warming up. Now I understand from a literal perspective that I was sharing some range balls with my friend which I went and read later and it was a violation of their rules. He actually ended up not hitting the balls I had dumped out and hit the other couple buckets that were lying around. The fact that stone creek made me feel like a criminal and handled the situation extremely unprofessional and that they did not even want to listen to me suggest that they change their policy to be fair to all parties involved made me decide to give my range pass back (they did not take it from me) because i will not continue to support a business that finds this acceptable. So now that I have paid $70 a bucket for balls should make them feel like they are getting there moneys worth. Its too bad because I was looking forward to driving a couple minutes from my house to the course to play as golf is my main hobby. This truly was the worst experience at a golf course that I have ever had. I am a hard working professional and was made to feel like a criminal for something that I had paid for. Please consider this as you are thinking about going here.
