Not a church but a chapel building. Small congragation. Every body knows each other. Not traditional Catholic Roman church. Every body is welcome to celebrate some rituals and services that the Roman Church does not allow under their traditional and rigid rules. Last stop for those who dont agree with some of the Roman Catholic rules, so they can still feel comfortable with the Catholic religion and dont migrate to other religious grups.

Good Morningstar Family!!!, RememberJESUS IS LORD And you can only say that by the holy spirit!!! Truelly of all the churches are and music ministries Ih been involved in, This churchRocksIt is a Faith based word of God family...like Jesus taught us.. To be the key davieeed is ALL INCLUSIVE For you cannot break anyones Faith in believing in God!!! This place is unlike any other church I have ever been to and thats a GOOD thing. The nicest, most genuine people you will ever meet. Zero judgement, casual attire and everyone is welcome. I had been turned off by churches due to the hypocrites and fakes. This church is the exact opposite and I am beyond grateful to have found it. Seriously, check it out, you will be very happy you did.

St Matthews church is a family oriented gathering of people who seek to enrich the community with prayers and support providing a solid base for ourselves and our children to have a deeper understanding of the myriad colors and tones of living in Christ, while still remaining compassionate on a personal level.... Sea you in a church on Sunday!

Please be aware this is not a Roman Catholic Church. It may use some of the verbiage but this is not a true Catholic church.

The place was good. The pastor was great I liked how he added some humor to his speech to distract us from why we were there. The staff was not so good. We had coffee and bread for everyone there, we understood the fact that we couldnt be inside with drinks so we would be outside eating and drinking our coffee, I just didnt like theyre tone they seemed annoyed. While the pastor was giving his speech they started to clean up and making noise it was distracting. They really wanted to go home and I understand they were probably tired but still. Also once the pastor was done with his speech he mentioned that the staff now has some words for us. We were thinking like sorry for your lost and kind words nope they just said we want to thank you guys for coming and to please start picking up your food and we will be closing soon like ok peace! The place was nice thou.

I have been attending Saint Matts for almost ten years now and before then had never encountered such a loving, warm, and welcoming community. Each Mass is captivating with its beautiful music, homily, and community celebrating together, all while upholding beloved Catholic traditions. All are welcome, just as Jesus would want. He would never turn anyone away. So why should any church?

SAINT MATTHEW ECUMENICAL CATHOLIC CHURCH is not Roman and this is it saving GRACE. This is the reason it feels that this church is closer to the original intentions of Jesus teaching and is more authentic. The clue is in the word ECUMENICAL.

6 reviews5.0 star rating 12/2/2016I spent my life in leadership in the United Methodist Church so I come to this review, and this church, from a different perspective--the perspective of a lifelong Protestant searching for a more intimate spiritual experience in worship. I started exploring Catholicism because I wanted to participate in Eucharist more often and, after much study, thought and prayer, came to a new found appreciation of Catholic devotion. This church is a valid expression of the ancient Catholic tradition and enjoys the fundamentals of historic Catholicism: Sacraments, Apostolic Succession and appreciation for 2000 years of theology and example as shown to us in the saints. The teaching is Biblical and sound. The social aspect is more liberal that what you would expect in a typical Saddleback or Calvary experience.Although historically and authentically Catholic, our roots are traced to Rome prior to 1870 and not currently in connection with Rome, but Catholic none the less. I am very blessed that my wife joined me on this faith journey. After attending mass at Roman Catholic churches we visited St. Matthew ECC one Sunday mass in January of 2015 and have been coming back every week since. We immediately found a new church home and never looked back. Join us and see!

Whether or not St. Matthew is part of the Roman Church DOES NOT MATTER!! Jesus is the one who welcomes us to the Eucharist...it is His table, not that of any denomination. I sing in the choir and serve and the Altar. St. Matts is THE VERY BEST CHURCH I have ever attended. Never have I felt so loved, so welcomed. I travel to St. Matts twice a week from my home in Palm Springs, I love it SO much. I feel affirmed, cared for, and appreciated. Mass here is such an uplifting experience...the music is fantastic...as is the preaching! Bishop Peter usually preaches and I can tell you that man can preach circles around just about every clergy person Ive ever known. St. Matts features married and female bishops, priests and deacons. No problem receiving all the sacraments if youre divorced. This is a place where the catholic tradition is practiced in all its glory---without all those silly rules from the Roman Church.

The following reflects my personal opinions....I may have one or two of them. I do not speak for the church, but Ill be happy to chat about it....I just LOVE Saint Matthew Ecumenical Catholic Church in Orange. We have the best Masses, a wonderful community, lots of priests, great Adult Education, wonderful participation by children during the mass,Super duper great music, wonderful youth group, many community projects and so much more.I am sorry that people are advertising not to attend because it is NOT Roman Catholic. We are NOT Roman Catholic and never pretended to be.Some people in our community were formerly R C and have found a new home at St. Matts, Some have felt for various reasons excluded from the RC or find their values differ. We are a loving inclusive community.Hey, wasnt that what Jesus taught? There are many types of Catholics( orthodox, Coptic, Old Catholic, Independent, to name a few) . We are but one type with churches all over the US and Europe. For a small church it has made a BIG difference in my life as well as my families and friends. We love our catholic traditions. As lay people we are involved in the running of our Parish and Church. Members from all the churches under our communion gather and make decisions together.I have found St. Matts to be a powerful force in our lives. If you a would like to check out a homily you can do so on line at our web-sight. Then come visit us. You will be welcomed. :)Should you need the apostolic succession you are welcome to read about it. Information is available.
