Best small town museum in Texas... better than most in big cities. AND FREE! Thank you Stark family. Western Art and sculpture... Remington, Russell! New Mexico... Georgia OKeefe, Dunton... and an Audubon room! American Indian art, as well as the late 1800s to early 1900s photos and lithographs such as Edward Curtis are all rich and warm. Much more than we can describe. Friendly and professional staff, clean and architecturally overwhelming facility. Theyve got it all at the Stark. My highest recommendation, worth the trip.

The museum is a great break on road trips nearby. U can easily spend over an hour w Western art, glassware and the family collection. There is also the Stark house, currently only open very limited times. It is easily good for another 90 min. I think the house is the best part of our stop and I recommend calling ahead to see if u can coordinate your schedule.

I cant believe a museum of this caliber is free! Orange really is a lucky town to have the Stark family as benefactors. The collections are fascinating, with the Duck Stamp gallery being my favourite. Give yourself a few hours to thoroughly enjoy all the Galleries, but dont hesitate to stop in if you have less time - the layout allows for a quick walk-through, too.

The Stark Museum has the most spectacular collection of Taos art in the United States. This is worth the drive to see. If you enjoyed the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, you will love this place.

This is a very nice place for adults or older kids. My children are too young to appreciate the art and tend to rush through it. The family day events are a lot of fun, but only happen once or twice per year.

In the middle of a small East Texas town is a modern structure that houses an interesting collection of Western Art and Artifacts. While not a huge collection the Stark museum is well laid out and also houses Some Steuben Glass. They have rotating exhibits from various places, You can take pictures of most of the art displayed if you care to,. which is a plus for those interested in studying some artists a bit closer. If you happen to be going by it is worth a detour.

The Stark Museum of Art is on of the crowning stars of the Stark Venues. They feature Western Art and a large Audubon collection. Currently their exhibition Branding the Wild West is on display through September along with the juried student show Drawn West. The exhibit shows the relationship between art and movies.
