The range is clean and inviting, the prices are reasonable. They offer a great variety of targets, ammo and rentals, especially for a small place.As per many gun stores, men are treated better and friends/members are treated best. Sadly many of the sales staff are impolite and uninterested.Excellent place to go if you are knowledgeable and want to shoot at a convenient, attractive indoor range. However, beginner shooters should bring an experienced, male friend or choose a different place.

Great place to get your CT Pistol Permit, take a training class or just shoot in their indoor range. I have always found the staff to be very helpful, knowledgable and friendly.

Mike, Kaz, Josh, Rachel, Owen (RSO) - You guys are all great people! It was awesome working and talking to you. It was my 1st time back after a year, when I got my permit, so I was a bit nervous and needed some refreshing. Mike picked out some great firearms for me, Rachel listened without any interruption as to my need for a firearm and introduced me to the classes offered, Josh was very patient although it was a crazy busy day, Kaz picked out some other guns that I might want to try out and Owen, he did his job! Made me feel comfortable and wanting to come back again! HIGHLY RECOMMEND GREYSON GUNS!

My favorite indoor range by far. Clean and modern with a very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Ive bought several of my firearms here and never felt pushed into making a purchase. They have an excellent membership option that makes range time extremely affordable. Ive been to many gun shops in CT, and Greysons has definitely become my favorite.

I have been coming to Greyson Guns for about a year now, but have only recently become a Charter member. I am very proud to be a Charter member and I must say that it is very worth it. I come at least three times a week. Each and every visit, always leaves me with positive vibes. I always receive a warm welcome greeting from every single one of their staff members. Josh, a young, respectful man, always greets me by my name - mind you that my name is a bit difficult to pronounce, but he never has a problem. Mike, always wonderful. Tyler, very knowledgeable and available to answer all questions regardless of how busy, will always make time. A couple weeks ago, I sold a few firearms, which I had the pleasure of meeting another named Mike. I was amazed with the price of the buyback of my firearms - very fair and the best deal.Even though I did not get the chance of naming all of their staff, everyone is just the best. I admire how helpful they are and it’s not just about making a sale to them. They try to understand who you are and suggest what would be best. I have witnessed on numerous occasions how wonderful they are to all their customers. They don’t treat you like a customer, but as family - apart of them. The Asian lady (apologize that I do not know her name) brings out water when it is hot, offering a bottle to each and every individual. She even brought out a bowl of water for someone who brought their dog in! I highly recommend Greyson Guns. It is a clean, safe, and friendly environment. As I’ve been to many ranges throughout the nation, this is far the best that I have encountered with. Came in with a certain item In mind. I was shown all available options and even other available items that match my search criteria. Sales associates were able to get an authorization number quickly and make a sale quick and painless and have exactly what I was looking for, even a better option than I knew existed. This is all during when the crunch was going on I was well please thank you for being open and making it quick and pleasant.

I read a lot of the 1 star comments, I didn’t have these issues, I wouldn’t waste my time and money there if I did. I don’t consider myself a professional shooter, but I can handle my share of guns. Everyone is nice and professional. They answer all your questions, get anything you need and they care. I appreciate that! The gun range is clean and neat. The owner did a really great job! I won’t spend my money anywhere else!

Went to Greyson this morning ( March 21, 2020)- one of the first customers. Wanted to learn more about the SAR 9MM, but the sales person was not helpful. I was the only person in line, but he told me that hes busy and ignored me. As soon as I walked out, he mocked me! I felt embarrassed and uncomfortable. I paid a few hundreds for my gun but received an insult from this person. He was unprofessional and Im disgusted by his biased treatment. BTW, I took an 8 hr permit class at Greyson as well. But I will not join as a member or their shooting range if this is the service I get- humiliation.

Greyson has been an amazing place to train. Ive gone from knowing nothing to being way more comfortable with handguns and that is all due to Alan. I look forward to my permit, membership and hitting the range to get better.

First of all, wish I could review the range and store separately. Range is convenient and well kept. But RSO not present often and wait times can get VERY long. Now to the store. Very arrogant staff, they do not wear clothing that identifies them as employees and don’t seem open to speaking with you. Not a good store for the casual gun owner, great if you’re their friend or very knowledgeable. An example, I asked an employee about the Glock Blue Label program. I inquired if there was a difference between a stock Glock and the Blue Label. He said “Well the label is blue” and then laughed with another customer at me. I come to find out there is a difference in price and magazine size while he’s talking to a regular customer. Not going to patronize this store anymore. Only worth training with Alan and range time, other shops are much more professional.

Just came from there i was in there for more then 15 minutes and nobody said boo and that is not the first times that has happened. I saw at least five people working there and again not one of them came up to me. i had to ask for help and when i did he did not even turn around from the computer gave me some prices and that was it.I wanted to buy a gun tonight but not from greyson guns

PROS 1) Clean, tidy store 2) (Generally) Clean indoor range 3) Comfortable waiting area seating 4) Friendly (young) sales staff 5) Convenient to get to from I-95. CONS 1) Safety Inattentiveness – NO safety staff observed on range during busiest times. Knowledgeable locals report several firearm discharges in store when customers were present. 2) Excessive employee turnover, even for this industry. 3) Retail pricing? Range costs are average, gun/ammo prices trend higher. 4) Marketing hype vs. training value. Females beware. (Ladies League members duped into paying $50 a session. Other league participants pay only $20. Staff trainers are apparently incentivized to sell training bundles and continuous private lessons not to promote reasonable skill development. 5) Instructor Quality. Watch the Greyson instructor videos. Looks cool until you see each one violating basic safety tenets during loading/reloading. Are you a tactical shooter? See the poorly performed (half-hearted?) scan and assess techniques? Pros know better. My overall observation? I prefer to recommend and support small businesses whenever possible. This is a friendly, comfortable, convenient location for shooting during cold winter months and for buying a box of ammo. Beyond this though, buyer beware. Lift and look (closely) underneath the hood before taking anything training related.

I am a Charter Member although I wonder what the 100 a month is for. Today was second time I got the run around and finally just left. Must be because I am female because I sure see the men get taken care of a lot faster than I do. Will not renew membership. T. Orrell

I come there trying to buy a rifle and start asking questions to the guy behind the counter, hell answer me but then walk away like I was jusy some broke dude in the store waisting his time, not knowing I had $2500 cash in my pocket ready to buy! So I ended up standing there looking stupid, so I walked out!

Came here a couple months ago looking to purchase a pistol because they were pretty local my husband and I were totally ignored, it was unreal. We looked at all the salesmen inside and walked around to get someones attention and no one would even look our way but after waiting around for about 10 mins just looking lost because we werent being assisted I made the judgement call that we should leave and when we did all of a sudden the attention shifted our way. Not so much as to help but to make sure we were leaving. So we drove to Hoffman where they dont mind making a few sales.

I’m a member here and I love this place ... the cleanest range I have been too and the staff is beyond amazing . No stereotypical rude, gun-nuts here, Just happy personable staff that understands customer service and builds relationships well ... if you go to or plan on using a range 1+ times per week definitely get a membership, with my charter membership they do free transfers for me for when I find a steal on gunbroker . That alone is worth the money when you buy guns often enough . I think transfers range about $50 per ? Very family friendly environment as well, you can bring your kids, mother or date ! Wonderful selection of guns and decent prices ! - Junior

Great spot to practice quiet clean

This state of the art facility has the knowledgeable staff. I took my pistol permit class here as a private lesson and it was worth every dollar/minute! I received the best of the best instruction from Adam! His knowledge, background and experience inspired me. I am so grateful that I met him because I want to further my accuracy and experience with him.

Nice store and range but on many repeat visits found NO range officer present or anyone monitoring the range, and there were many people who were not following the range rules and were unsafely handling firearms inside and outside the firing ports. Be aware of your own safety if you decide to use this range!

The guys at Greyson are great people to work with. Very knowledgeable and provide great customer service; as a female I was made to feel comfortable and important. The selection is wide and the prices are unbeatable. Their range is top-notch and well maintained. Go see any of the guys here and you will be well taken care of and leave a completely satisfied customer.

First time shooting at this range, and I had a lot of fun. The range was very comfortable and you can tell it has great ventilation . They mad a mistake on my bill and corrected it no problem. I also bought a holster, they mad it easy and gave me some pointers. I will definitely be going again.

They have a really nice layout. The range is top notch. The store is clean and has a lot of items. The only negative is it gets busy and they can be a little hard but it is a gun shop and safety must come first.

Having to walk in there for the first time I was expecting to see a bigger selection of guns in that big space they are wasting. They barely have anything in there. Didnt have what I wanted. Told me they could order I asked how long it would take...a week. No thanks walked out. Went to the nearest competitor down the road who had a bigger selection in a smaller store and had what I wanted for the best price out of 3 other stores I looked at.

I called the store and explained i am handicapped and cannot get to the store for the form i needed.and would be sending a friend to pick it up for me.and was told absolutely no problem,send him down and we will take care of it!my friend takes a 40 mile trip to the store.and is turned away by a rude clerk!who tells him they do not have the forms there.and did not want to hear about the arrangements already made!and sent him away.i call back the store and talk to an even ruder clerk.who again wanted to know nothing about it.and did not care.very unprofessional,never even saying sorry!and now the lost customers will be the result.for everyone i know and everybody they know and all handicapped people wishing not to be disrespected,wont go in their store!maybe they are too inexperienced to know this.

A great selection of guns and ammo, a friendly staff and a clean store environment. What more could you ask for. Anything you are looking for that isnt on the shelf they can look into it for you. However, there is a large selection of guns and ammo here. All staff are very knowledgeable. You can even take your permit class there like my wife and I did. A great place to shop or just to ask questions.

Be warned. I went to shot for half an hour with my brother. Got talking to Will who was extremely helpful on how to oil my guns. Ran over the half hour by 5 mins by the time I got in line back at the desk. Well they charged me for an hour.$47.$47. Just want to warn everyone else. Good range and helpful people. But they round up not down on price.

Purchased my first gun from them after having been to a few other shops. Prices are very reasonable and selection is good. Staff are very knowledgeable and willing to take the time to make sure you get what you are looking for. Definitely worth the trip!

Great selection, permit classes available, shooting range. However, there process and customer service could use major help. The left hand does not know what the right hand is doing most of the time.Most of the time there are a lot of employees walking around and maybe one will stop and say can I help you after 5 have passed you.The business that does not pay attention to their customers must not be in the business of making money.On my last visit there I did received great customer service from one gentleman that answered all my questions, concerns and took his time explaining the details. To bad he is there part time only.

Ive been to many gun shops, but this shop is over the top. Their respectful, honest, helpful, experienced and humble staff is an understatement. Some of the staff is X-military and law folks and they very knowledgeable.I found Greyson through a friend and my first experience with this shop was a true test to the above review. I bought a silencerco can from out of state and Mike R. helped me with tax stamp and transfer. Despite my purchase being made from another store, Mike treated me like I was family. After getting that level of service from Greysons on my transfer, I became a very loyal customer. I am very thankful to have met these guys. I travel an hour out of my way to see these guys and will continue to go out of my way to express my appreciation for there amazing service. Way to go guys. You rock!

Range and staff (for the most part) is nothing like it was when I first started going almost 5 years ago. There have been too many times when there is no RSO out on the range when one was desperately needed. They used to be greatly concerned with customer safety, satisfaction and return. Their only concern now has been with turning a profit at any cost. Their roof has been leaking on 2 or 3 ranges during heavy rain for years. And more recently they made the decision to prevent all independent pistol instructors from utilizing their facility sighting raising costs of insurance when adding instructors to their policy, yet no other ranges in the area are experiencing any such thing. At one time this range was hands down the best in the area. For the last two years now theyve been rotating their training staff more than I rotate my underwear, only theyve been leaving the ones with holes still in their drawer. Last place Id go to. Last range Id recommend; unless they turn back to their roots.

I go to this range very often. They have great knowledgeable staff, a clean & well ventilated indoor range, and an excellent variety of guns to purchase. Everyone knows your name. If I had not liked any of the staff members, it would be expressed with great criticism, but 2 years strong and Ive been loving them all.The only thing that sucks about Greyson guns, is that 700 degree pizza pies has the audacity to attach their cardboard pizza factory to the building. Bad! Very, very, bad!The chicken parm sub is mildly acceptable...

Walked into the store to look at used guns and to get some answers to some questions I have on the CT gun ban list, and Im assuming the owner, told me he wouldnt even help me if I wasnt ex military or cop. Being that I bought my first gun (Glock 19) from here a year ago, and had no issues, I would advise others to look elsewhere when wanting to deal with a gun store for new gun owners or gun owners who are not highly educated in the world of guns and state laws. My other questions were not answered because I didnt dare ask the guy. On this day, the store lost out on a potential gun sale (wife wanted a revolver), ammo, and range time (to try different guns to suit her). I will seek business elsewhere and advise others to do the same.

A first class operation staffed by polite and knowledgeable firearms professionals. Whether it was their former location or the new shop they will generally meet or exceed your expectations. The new range is state of the art however it was the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. Again, the range itself is first class but with it being their first busy season in operation things seem to be moving a bit too fast for the staff. Im all for ARs and other semi auto rifles being allowed at indoor ranges but repeated mag dumps when the range is crowded is just a breach of range etiquette. It distracts serious shooters, makes people new to shooting cringe and while many of us go to the range to unwind theres a difference between that and play time. One shot per second is a rule that Ive seen implemented at many indoor ranges that Ive visited from here to Arizona and it works well for everyone. If youre renting a full auto firearm thats a different story. As Ive stated earlier, this is a very qualified group of firearms professionals and Im confident that they will find the right balance for their range customers.

My experience at Greysons was excellent. Members of the staff paraprofessional, Storrs very well organized and very clean. Total different experience than the last place I normally shoot at. Its a bit of a drive but its worth it. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone.

1st visit was great, nice clean range lanes and close to home. Reading some of these low ratings from other people all steamed towards customer service treatment. It is a gun store and they have to help multiple customers and there is a security factor as well. Theft, robbery and such.... think about it, al.ost everyone is armed. Just saying give them a break.

I purchased a $2,000.00 dollar rifle on gunbroker. When i recieved the box the bolt handle was protruding through the box. And the gun was sliding around in the box i guess packing paper is too expensive?Owner mike horvath wouldnt accept responsibility for the inadequate shipping box. Spoke to mike horvath he told me it wasnt his problem and stuck me with a damaged rifle. Mike Horvath said it was USPS fault and mine? Thats funny my internet invoice showed shipped by fedex? Not very honest Mike H. Too bad the owner has no scruples or cant admit when he is wrong. Its all to often nowadays many business dont think twice about screwing a paying customer but what comes around goes around. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS BUSINESS. They quoted me a price for an FFL transfer which led me to go with them. Other shops offered the same price but were slighter farther away. A week later at pickup they told me the transfer price went up.Also the staff was talking negatively about my selection in front of me which I found very unprofessional.Also the shooting memberships are ridiculous for anyone who wants to shoot once or twice a month. Even basic.

Real expensive if youre not a member. Otherwise awesome!

I made a google account just to leave a review for this place because they do not have a Yelp. As far as gun stores in New Haven county go, this is the only place I come to. I came here the week of the new AWB bill to purchase a Glock 19. I was amazed they had it in stock to begin with. The Glock came with two 10 round mags, but Mike switched them out for two 15rd mags for me, and less than 2 days later, those 15rd mags were banned. I was totally appreciative of this gesture. My satisfaction with this business compounded even further when later in the week I returned with my Glock and a set of TFO sights I had ordered online to have them installed. They installed the sights and didnt even charge me! I didnt even buy the sights from them. They truly appreciate your business and anytime I need a part or a new gun this will be my first stop. Excellent local business.UPDATE:I came here looking for two very specific, and cheap AR stock parts. I could have got them on Amazon for around 5-10 bucks each, but I didnt want to wait and stopped in to see if they had them. I asked for what I needed, they did not have it in retail packaging, but Ian found both parts I needed and handed them over without even charging me. I went in expecting to pay more than amazon and left paying nothing. I bought a box of ammo with the money I saved.
