Nice course thats not to far from home. Rates are on par with surrounding courses. Tee times can be tough to come by but its a well groomed course that has some very long holes. Challenging but fun.
Attended a very good friends wedding there this evening, it was a terrific experience. The grounds and inside space were beautiful, tables, seating and decor were very nice. The food was delicious, and the food service was incredible, instead of table service of mediocre and semi cold meals like most facilities provide, Grassy Hill lodge had serving stations set up where you could choose from a large array of prepared dishes as well as a terrific slicing station with prime rib or Pork, an incredible pasta station that they custom prepared virtually whatever pasta you preferred with your sauces of choice, a large variety of meats and vegetables you could have included, and they pan fried each order for you. Delicious and very quickly prepared. They had an amazing taco station set up with your choice of amazingly tender steak or chicken, both lived large with perfectly prepared vegetables and very well seasoned. The meal started out with a dinner salad with an incredibly tasty house dressing. We then moved to the stations for our main course. The service staff were very efficient, keeping our water glasses full, clearing our dishes and after dinner coffee followed by a fantastic ice cream bar where we made our own sundaes. Great sauces included a house made peanut butter sauce, and delicious house made whipped cream. Amazing food and staff made them once again stand out as a great choice for any event.
They adapted well for covid-19 play. Each golfer is allowed to have his own riding cart. Only course around the area that does this.
The course is in the best shape that Ive seen in awhile. Great job, guys!
Beautiful landscaping, golf course and banquet facility. Professional staff and excellent food.
Its been in better shape, but its a fun course
This was my first time at the Grassy Hill Country Club. The building was decorated so beautiful for Christmas. The lobby is beautiful with the fireplace. I was there for a Christmas party. When they served the meal the wait staff was excellent. I had a chicken dinner, the chicken was good but the green beans were chewy. The roasted potatoes had to many herbs on them. The butter on the table was pretty like a flower but it didnt taste right to me. We had cheesecake for dessert that was just OK.
Favorite local course ..par 3 up vertical hill challenging
All tee boxes are humped, you cant find a flat spot anywhere, they are still having problems with watering by the end of next month, it will be burnt and chrisp like last year . And they still will what you to pay top dollar, look at the driving range if you dont believe me
Nice course, great service! Very kind people. I love to come play here.
Good golf. Well maintained. Nice club.
Food is bland, fresh fruit is never good. Staff is indifferent.
Lovely and helpful staff. Good event space.
Nice greens and traps, rough was high but fair. Fairways on front need work, back was better except 18s fairway. Greens excellent roll and speeds but tough breaking greens.
I love this course. Good for beginners but still challenging for experienced golfers.
Great service & great Food.Great venue for a wedding
Nice facility, beautiful scenery, and always helpful staff.Ive attended both business and personal events here and have always had a pleasant experience. The sunsets here in the spring are exceptional.
Great for a work function! We went on a Monday for a class with a luncheon. Excellent food and the grounds are beautiful. Easy to get to and plenty of parking.
Attended a one year old birthday party here it was very nice
The food was good and there was plenty of variety. The setup was great for the time I spent there.
The course itself is beautiful, well-maintained, and challenging enough to be thoroughly enjoyable for me at my somewhat mediocre skill level. However, the customer service and course policies leave a lot to be desired. I have played the course several times over the past few years without incident but ran into an incredibly disappointing situation today. After reserving a tee time yesterday, I checked in today and was denied access as my shirt did not have a collar on it. The man behind the counter pointed at a tiny placard next to him stating that fact and then essentially dismissed me.I can understand wanting to avoid having objectionable clothing around the course, but I was wearing a plain red athletic shirt with an Adidas logo on it. Somehow, I dont think that would have violated sanctity of golf, or whatever the hell that rule is aiming for.I then checked the course website and the booking confirmation email that I received. Nowhere on either of these did it say that a collar was required on my shirt in order to be able to play. To then deny me service when Im trying to give you $50 to play your course is insulting.Guys, you are a public golf course in Milford, CT. Get off your damn high horse.
Course was in great shape
Wonderful place to have a gathering!!! The staff went above and beyond for our Star Wats themed 50th birthday party. I definitely recommend!
I mean.... 5 stars always
While I really enjoy playing there, I do wish that it would be an even greater pleasure to drive away from T boxes without the bumps. The staff is excellent. Cant praise them enough.
Golf course is in great shape and play moved along quickly. This course is always a challenge.
Decent course. Decent prices. Course is pretty challenging. Very few flat lies. A little issue with this course is that the tee boxes are not all flat. For $36 for 9 holes I think they could do a little better. Also tried to get a hot dog before playing the back 9 and was told that the restaurant just closed does the day. It was like 2pm. I really hope they get some things together bc this course has a lot of potential.
Nice course, challenging greens, nice pro.
There for a radio station roast, limited food but was all good.
In 35 years of playing golf, this course was, without a doubt, in the poorest shape of any Ive ever played. Tee boxes chopped up, fairways in deplorable condition. Open spots, hard pan, patches of area with no grass at all. Now for the greens.. In the worst shape imaginaable. Rock hard ball could not hold. Unfixed ball marks, bald patches. When I inquired in the pro shop, they told me the greens were hit with disease. Yes... The disease of greed. No mention of it when the tee time was made 4 days ago. NO drinking water provided the entire 18 holes. Stay away at any cost even if its free. If there was an option for zero stars, thats what it warrants
Getting better
Nice setup for a banquet, birthday, bar mitzvah, or any other big event.
Great place for every occasion. Loved it
Course was in tough shape. Everything but the greens in dire need of TLC. Greens still holding up but not to high levels seen in previous seasons.
Food was great for the golf outing....
Very sophisticated and classy for any venue
Not a bad place to have an event.
Chaperoned a dance, Great staff on board
You gotta love Grassy Hills, from the pro Ray. to the course with the great greens (the ball rolls where you put it), the tees are a little off, but the fairways, the bunkers and the Championship rough will give you a great test. The grill after is great with chili and ice cold beers to quench your thirst! A great day to be had by all, except the losers and miserable players. ;-)
I had a amazing time here with all my friends
Very nice setting, the service seemed a disorganized though. Seemed like they were a bit under staffed. Good time none the less.
Nice course and great time!
Our organization, the Police Commissioners Association of Connecticut, has been scheduling several dinners and events at Grassy Hill for the last 3 years. We work with the banquet manager, Mr. Gil, and his assistant and have not been disappointed by any part of the arrangements we make. The staff is superb; the meals are without exception very good; the seating arrangements are always exactly as we request, and management is always available and willing to change things, sometimes at last minute notice. We have over 250 members, and all have commented on the quality of the dinners provided by Grassy Hill.
Love this course. Never very busy. Rangers dont yell at you for slow play. Prices are good. They are also open all year. Play as long as no snow.
Excellent condition and well run. Prices are comparable for the area. Greens are fast and rum true with some difficult sloping
Greens shaggy and slow.Fairways in bad shape. Slow pace of play
The place is very nice. The main meal was lack luster.
As an event planner and why I recommend planning an event at Grassy Hill Country Club is the experience, excellent customer service, (Elisa and Chris) fantastic food, anyone who has eaten there raves about the food, and a warm and inviting atmosphere, the ballrooms crystal chandeliers and their picturesque views of lush green lawns. An experience that does not disappointed.
The greens were in great condition, but there was no water out on the course and it was almost 80 out. Also no beverage cart.
In decent shape for what management puts into it.
Always great to play on this course...bringing some beers is a must.
Wonderful experience! The service was great and the food was delicious. Would recommend!
Great golf course. Its in great shape and a bargin at $39
I could not be more pleased with the service and environment at Grassy Hill Country Club. The food was superb and the staff were friendly and helpful! I strongly recommend this place to anyone considering it
Beautiful venue for a Wedding, prom or other special event.
Attended a fundraiserGreat grounds but inside needs a make overWe were suppose to eat at 7:30, they put out the pasta, 30 minutes later the salad, didnt eat the actual meal until 9:30.We asked for a pitcher of coke for table and was told we needed to buy it.
Had a great time at my friends wedding! Looking forward to coming back next year for another friends wedding.
Nice location and the banquet halls are sized well but the food was not that great.
Beautiful setting highly recommend for any event
Nice venue
Nice course, but tee boxes not in good shape, they could use a ranger, play was painful ly slow 5 1/2 hour round .
Was attending the furball had a wonderful time they did a beautiful job the only complaint I could have was that the portions were very small and a lot of people left nothing on the plate meaning they could have eaten more how much does pasta cost it should have had much bigger helpings of pasta or a bowl on the table
I recently attended a fundraiser here, the food was good, service was great!
Great Easter brunch
Food wasnt so good. Beautiful surroundings!
Should not have let carts out today.
Photographed a wedding there, a really lovely place!
Here for WICC boomers and beyond expo
Good and good price.
Disappointing.
Community event was nice
Great
Nice
Good day for golf.
Great venue for a wedding
Beautiful venue, great service.
Ok
Beautiful course
Just plain slow and taste disgusting
You were 1 street off
The course was in OK shape considering the time of year. The layout was fair, nothing special.
The greens are fantastic considering the drought we are suffering
