Stopped here on a long drive, and was really pleased with the menu and food we ordered. Could imagine it being a fun place to spend an evening when things get back to normal. There were lots of items we were interested in trying. Glad to see some local beers on the menu that gave us a taste of the area. Would recommend!

The hostess was very nice and welcoming upon entrance of the restaurant. She asked if we preferred sitting at a table or bar area and we stated whichever would be easier for the waiter. We were seated at the bar and it honestly took some time for the bartender to notice us. I felt bad for him having been a bartender before he was required to wait tables, fix drinks, and take bar orders. He seemed exhausted which is why I still have four stars. I wish he wasn’t so swamped and there were more people helping around the bar area on a Saturday at lunch time. Once we got our orders everything was perfect. I ordered the crab cakes for my appetizer (which were kind of small for the price of $10) and the veggie burger which costed less than my app ($9). Everything was cooked to perfection. I will definitely be back again!

Amazing food, every time weve visited. A family of four, weve all gotten different items and shared. All the food is amazing. The tots in truffle oil on the appetizer menu blew my taste buds out of my mouth, they were so good! You cant go wrong with this place. Highly recommended!

I traveled from Columbus GA to eat here since its so highly spoken of. I ordered two starters and the best part about the entire meal was the ranch dipping cup. I stood at the podium and no one said anything to me for a solid 3 minutes. The food is ordered was rounded up from $6.49 to $8.00... I could see rounding it to $7 for convenience or something but I spent $30 on dry teeny tiny wings, fish meal, and fancy fries with gravy and cheese. The RANCH was the best part. Tipped $4 before trying the food so I wasted $35 bucks and gas for an hour trip. Not happy

Great experience.staff was kind and give attention to us.Food is the best. I dont like grits, but I was enjoyed their grits. steak was also good as well. pork schnitzel, chicken also has great value. And also good beers too. I like this pub. I will go there again.

First the good. The restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was comfortable. The server was fast, and the food was at the table reasonably fast. The food also looked really good on the plate. Now the bad. The fries were extremely salty and the blackened fish didnt have much flavor. I went with another person and they had very similar complaints. Overall, would not recommend.

It is always a pleasure to come here. After moving to the area three years ago, I can wholeheartedly say in confidence that the food here has never been a disappointment. It is a mix of traditional Irish food, with some items having a twist on their creation, as well as the local favorites being cooked to perfection (I also highly recommend that you ask about the soup, or chilli, of the day). The entire staff is nothing short of being consistently friendly, and helpful. For instance, I just watched a server give a patron their personal jumper cables, and then another patron help with the jump itself. This establishment never ceases to amaze. Good Beers, Good Cheers, and always Good People.

Drove hour one way when says open till 5 get there and its closed on Sunday. Update your hours. Love the restaurant but 5 of us drove for nothing

We were seated very quickly on a busy Friday. My son ordered steak medium rare but it was bloody rare. The waitress offered to take it back and cook more but we declined. The waitress wasnt very attentive because she busy on her cell phone. It also took a long time to get our check from her. Other than poor service from the waitress and the rare steak everything else was good such as the.other food we ordered and the atmosphere.

Rachel, the neglectful server, was the worst! It wasnt even busy. She took my order, then took several other orders, delivered their food, and never got back to me. I was sitting right in front of her at the bar and she didnt even look at me. I was ghosted by Rachel, the neglectful server.

Does not believe in or follow rules protecting community from Covid 19. Makes me question what other sanitation rules are followed. Do not recommend eating here.

Good food in a nice setting, but occasionally slow service.The restaurant is set in a dark building in downtown Opelika along the railroad tracks. There is a large bar downstairs and smaller upstairs, with seating in 3 different areas, including one on the second floor. The food is all pretty good, perhaps not the best Irish food I have had, but definitely better than many in the south. I recommend the Shepherds Pie, the Maytag chips, the Irish fries appetizer is really good, and the Fish and Chips is also decent. The Salmon sandwich is also very tasty.Service is often slow and occasionally poor, I waited on a drink refill from when we got food to when we finished our main meals.9/10 for location and atmosphere8/10 for food6/10 for service on the whole

Rachel was awesome. Ask her for suggestions and she will steer you to eating happiness. She is born and raised in the area and loves her town. She shared some other great local info. We are tourist and always love a good Irish Pub and found it. She can also pour as perfect Guinness.

My boyfriend and I had been here several times before the virus. We came back tonight, and the service and food portions were horrible. The server put our dinner down and walked off. Didnt ask if we needed anything or not just left. I had to go find the server, asked if we could have some ketsup for the fries, salt and more tartar sauce. Was told the ketsup and salt were behind me on a shelf and he would get us more tartar sauce. Well he just brought us the tartar sauce put it on the table and left. As far as I am concerned I wouldnt have even given them a 1 but there was nothing lower.

Had a great experience. Food was very good. I ordered the bangers and mash. Only reason for the four stars is that my waitress had me waiting for my dinner check for about 15min and the place wasnt busy. I dont remember her name but she was a blonde younger waitress. Dont get me wrong she did a good job as far as taking care of us but no reason to have is sit there wanting to leave and notbringing us the check until we asked other waiters and waitresses to have her bring us our check.

Delicious! We got their Irish poutine fries appetizer (fries with Guinness gravy and melted mozzarella cheese) and it was wonderful. Then got the Shepherds pie and it was the best Ive had in years! My husband also got the Gaelic sirloin (with a mushroom gravy) and that was great too. Will definitely be going back soon!

I love Irish Bred Pub! Its my husband and my favorite place to go when we want to go out downtown or for a casual meal. The staff is great and the food is good! Excellent, laid back atmosphere and the Corner Bar (upstairs) is a blast every Saturday night with the Roy G. Biv drag show. Bonus: the upstairs balcony is a beautiful spot to enjoy a drink and how pretty downtown Opelika is at night.

I love this restaurant; it’s one of our local must “go-to” spots. Therefore, you can color me aghast to claim that I’ve long believed this Irish colleen the worst cooker of corned beef and cabbage on the continent, until tonight. How they got this staple wrong is beyond me, but the meat was flavorless and truly too tough to costume, and the cabbage rubbery. They set the bar so low, that I’m inspired to take another stab from my own kitchen next year. Slainte Mhath!️

Looking for a place just to rest a min after my ride didnt show at the greyhound bus stop... 1st time in this area. Thre girl ther was real sweet and let me sit and charge my phone and gave me some water after my walk with my heavy bags. I cant wait until I get to go back and enjoy a few drinks with friends

Hands down the best Salmon I have ever had! This is not regular Pub food.The taste is so amazing I feel like in an upscale restaurant (maybe even better). Not to mention the beer had the perfect temperature and was amazing. I will be back for their food for sure!

Great food! If you like steak then the surf and turf is for you! I have never had a steak that tasted this good! It does have shrimp with it. I really dont like seafood but this was absolutely amazing! Also the Maytag Chips are delicious too

This pub is fantastic. Passing through the area and discovered and it is will work the visit. The staff is polite and gives excellent recommendations of their menu. The bangers and mash are wonderful and packed with flavor. I would highly recommend this place and look forward to the next time I pass through so I can stop by here again! 5 stars is not enough to give this place.

The Irish Bred Pub is one of my favorite local restaurants in downtown Opelika. The customer service is always great. My favorite meal is bangers & mash. The meal is filling and has such a wonderful taste.

The food was absolutely delicious. We had the Fried Green Tomatoes and Crab Boxty. By far they were the best fried green Tomatoes and crab cakes we have had so far since moving to Alabama. We also tried the Crab Boxty BLT and our desert was the homemade bread pudding. I highly recommend giving all of these a try. You will not be disappointed!

Extremely friendly staff. Clean bathrooms, however would be nice if there were more stalls. Monday’s are open mike nights which was very cool. Food was hot and not too shabby.

Best fish and chips, AMAZING!!! We had a party of 11, Jenny was our waitress, she did an amazing job and was so wonderful to every person with us. Everyones meal was great, no complaints at all.

Love this place for their fish n chips. My friends tell me their food is delicious too, but I always get the fish in chips. Only four stars because it is so dark in there. Walls are painted black with very soft, muted lighting. I arrived after dark and had trouble at the entry. Kind folk behind me helped with the 2nd door. A bit more light at the door, at least, would help.

The Maytag chips alone were worth the visit, but my salmon entry was delicious too. Covered on sauteed vegetables, yum! Generous serving. Good service. We will be back.

I enjoyed their special Valentine full dinner. Huge portion of food for reasonable price $50. At the end they even served Champgne. I will go there again.
