Thousands of senior citizens inundated the Omaha District office over the last few days to get their Senior Park Passes for $10 before the price increase to $80 on Monday. I was there this afternoon. It took about 1-1/2 hours to get my pass because of the large volume of people - they were getting a thousand people more a day than they usually get. The Park Service Staff was organized, respectful, and amazingly had a good sense of humor even late in the afternoon. They showed no signs of stress. Kudos to Nat. the Park Service Staff
Very good phone information by courteous staff. NO HELP though on my misplaced Lifetime Park Pass, other than to buy it again! Even though I have a receipt of the purchase WITH an ID number & note to keep your receipt! WHY KEEP IT, if it does me no good. I was told they dont keep the info, but why then is there an ID number on the receipt? I dont get it! Just when I need it,Im told to buy it again!
A great NPS VISITOR CENTER that typically gets overlooked because Google wont categorize it as such. Because those coming to this MIDWEST REGIONAL OFFICE (MWRO) for NPS business, will already know that its here! But those searching for an NPS Visitor Center, dont see it in their search results! It only comes up when looking for Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail (LECL)...
Lots of information, professional quick service, beautiful building with easy access, close parking area.
One of Omahas best resources that almost nobody knows about. Its a big deal! This is the National Parks Headquarters for the entire Midwest region. Mount Rushmore, Badlands, Hot springs... this is a cool place that can help you plan an awesome trip. If youre interested in the natural world around you at all, I definitely suggest checking it out.
Love it!
