This is a really awesome mom and pop style local shop. I dont know how an avid artist will fair, but I went in to buy gifts for artistry friends and the staff was super knowledgeable and helpful.They took time to figure out what would be the best gifts by asking questions and looking at artwork, and in the end were extremely helpful.Ive gone in for a few personal supplies and been delighted with the quality of the merch.

First time in and I was expecting better customer service than going to a box store. The young lady working completely ignored me, but made a point to greet everyone else engage with them.

Small store, but great selection of necessary art supplies. They even have Chinese Brush Painting brushes, inks, paints, and papers. No where else in town does.

For a small shop, they had a decent supply. The prices were a little higher than I can find elsewhere, but I normally wouldnt mind paying more to support local stores.My biggest issue was that the two staff members that were present never once tried to engage me while I was there. In my 15 minute visit (during half of which I was the only customer inside) they spent the entire time complaining to each other about social issues.I get it. You have beliefs. I neither agree nor disagree with them; however, I do find it a bit amusing that you complained about how low sales were while I stood debating between several products.And yeah, I probably couldve interrupted and asked, but it really makes me uncomfortable when its a somewhat heated topic between people I dont know. The customer shouldnt be made to feel like they are an interruption or inconvenience.

I had a long list of things I needed today, but couldnt get within five blocks of Olyphant. For an arthritic with a walker, thats a substantial barrier. When I called to see if the store had any ideas for me, I got, Parking is catch as catch can on the street. A little empathy would have been nice, but I suppose I understand. Ill try to forgive you for it not mattering that I cant reach you if you promise to forgive me for ordering what I need through Amazon. I really, really miss the other location(s). I know it was tiny, but I could actually get there. Best wishes, Olyphant.
