I’ve only been here once, but I had a wonderful experience here watching “Miss You Like Hell.” The staff are friendly, and the performers are talented and wonderful!

I always enjoy visiting Olney Theatre! The Little Mermaid, Guys and Dolls, In the Heights, Matilda, On the Town, and Cabaret were standouts. You can’t beat live theatre or Chris Youstra in the pit!

Had the privilege of enjoying Singing in the Rain with my family. What a show! The music was fantastic. The singing was professional. The tapping was impressive. The acting was great. The the theater sat 500, but the seating in the Orchestra section made you feel like you could reach out and touch the stage. It was a long show, but my family was engaged, interested, and laughing throughout. Ive got and 8 and 12 year old that sat quietly (other than the laughter) through the entire 2+ hours.

I saw singing in the rain here, and it was absolutely fantastic! The singing and dancing were on point, and the set and costumes were very well done. I would definitely recommend this theater, its wonderful to have professional theater without having to drive all the way to Baltimore or Washington DC.

Leave your small town community theater misconceptions at the door. OTC mixes out-of-town guest artists, theatre veterans, and local performers to create stage magic that will leave you blown away. I saw the Nutcracker earlier this week and was amazed by the performance and technical aspects (especially the costumes) of the production. The historic stage and theater are an intimate combination that made me feel part of the show. Im hooked and look forward to seeing another production soon, hoping my first impression of OTC lasts.

I enjoyed my experience at the Olney Theatre. Obtaining tickets through will call was a smooth and simple process. The size of the theatre and the seating arrangement makes every seat a good one. Refreshments served at intermission were perfect and reasonably priced. Only draw back was several bathroom stalls were not functioning.

Reliably competent suburban theater. Dont expect experimental theatre. OTOH we have enjoyed everything weve seen here. Good parking. Dining nearby in Olney center or right across the highway at the Olney Ale House.

Great historic landmark theatre. Longest continuously running live theatre group. Show quality is excellent. Dont bother with the Kennedy Center or even Broadway NYC. Olney Theatre is just as good at a fraction if the price.

Recently caught a production of Cabaret here and before that Once and Carousel—all top notch! I see a good deal of professional theatre and I am always impressed with the productions I’ve seen at Olney! Don’t dismiss this gem!

Love this community theater! Have seen many shows here and theyve all impressed me. Cabaret was amazingly moving and, in my opinion, lead actor was better than some of the more famous actors that have played the role!

Great shows. Lovely space, and the main stage has very good acoustics and sight lines. Parking can be a little exciting, particularly when multiple shows are running on the weekends.

Saw an new relevant musical play about immigration and deportation from the eyes of mother and child. Venue was comfortable and organized, allowing easy access and an opportunity for sharing.

“Singing in the Rain”! Oh Boy! Lots of singing, tapping and chorus line dancing; Romancealong with a little bit of education on the birth of the “talkies” (movies with sound). It was gutsy to take on such a classic, but well done!

My wife and I attended a Sunday matinee at the Olney Theatre. The show was entitled Tiger Style. It was performed in the Theatre Lab which is a smaller venue. The seating was comfortable. The show was great. We had a great time. I hope to see more shows there in the future.

Weve had season subscriptions at Olney Theater for years. Their productions are nearly always tip top and weve enjoyed a good amount of fine theater. Parking is good. Theres a bar and places to sit prior to curtain up. Great value for a nice night out.

Cozy place, the right size for a great experience

I have attended several plays at Olney Theatre. I have enjoyed myself each time. from A Christmas Carol to Twelfth Night. so much fun and a wonderful atmosphere. great place to just enjoy yourself..

This is lovely theater with the best version of A Christmas Csrol that we have ever experienced. Paul Morella is so very talented. We drive 2 hours to see the show and will do it again next year!

ONCE at the Olney Theater opened last evening and was absolutely awesome from beginning to end. The actors were dynamic and so very talented. 12 artists who could play multiple instruments as well as sing, dance and carry out a FANTASTIC play. I saw this play at the Hippodrome Theater and it was very good, however the Olney offers such intimacy in its theater. The ability to truly see and hear everything.I enjoyed it so much I plan to go back again. Make the time to go and enjoy this gift of a show.A shout out to all the gifted Crew on the stage and behind the scenes.Thanks to the management team at the Olney, you keep getting better and better.

They have really good shows. I have seen few and loved them all

I love a theater that sells wine and allows patrons to drink during the show. Saw a Sunday afternoon play. I was surrounded by a sea of senior citizens. They werent the crotchety type. :) The play itself was fantastic; I saw the Tenors. The set was nicely constructed, actors were well casted, script was decent- full of many laughable moments. One of the best plays I have seen recently in a local theater.

Saw A Christmas Carol there. Magical. Enchanting. Will be a family tradition.

Best theater. Save money and hassle go to Olney Theater for superb acting. Better than Kennedy Center.

This well designed suburban theater truly is of professional quality, both in facility and production. There is not a bad seat in the house and it has an intimate feel even from the back row. Their current production, Ken Ludwigs A Comedy of Tenors, is very good, well cast, well directed, beautiful set and perfect costuming, and very, very funny and enjoyable, even for a non-lover of opera like me. I went with a friend with no idea of what show I was to see and had a great time. I strongly recommend this show and will keep this stage on my radar for upcoming productions!

So fun! Saw Elf in the smaller, newer theatre. What a great experience! Seats were great...looks like there wouldnt be a bad seat in the house. Nice people. The play was well done and so much talent! Singing...dancing...fun music. Excellent everything. Bravo!

Great theater in the suburbs that draws extraordinary talent. The latest production, Once had a range of performers who were beyond talented, each were skilled at multiple instruments, and sang, and acted. The staging was perfect. A truly remarkable production. Were lucky to have theater like this so accessible.

We frequent the Olney Theater a few times a year. Although small, they put on a great performance every time. Be sure to arrive early as the parking lot can fill up fast and youll have to walk a distance to get to the doors. Every seat is a great seat and the acoustics are perfect. Looking forward to seeing many more performances.

Good show by talented cast. Small enough theater that it looks like all the seats at the main stage are good.

A more modern look to the theater and decent parking available here. We watched Elf here and sat midway up on the main floor, end seats on the left and still had a very comfortable view of the stage.The bathrooms were reminiscent of a elementary school. Seeminly designed by someone who had no idea it was for a potentially high use and a fan of chaos. For the men out there, please use the first floor restroom and check out the layout of the stall in respect to the urinals. Good lord.Anyway, enjoy your show!

I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Prices were a bit hefty, but actors have to eat too! Parking filled up quickly, layout was a bit odd, overall a good experience.

Much more than I expected. This is a lovely facility and complex with lots of history. The stage is large, well-lit, and the acoustics are very good. The seats are comfortable and the auditorium is big enough for a good size audience, but small enough to still feel intimate.

Olney Theatre Center is a great venue. Weve gone to many plays and musicals there over the years and have never been disappointed. Its located right on Rt. 108 in Olney, so its an easy drive. Parking has never been a problem, but I think if you arrived very close to show time, it might get a little tight. The lobby area for the main theater has been renovated, and now there are several seating areas, a bar, and a small gift shop. If you like live theater, you should check out the Olney Theatre.

An absolutely delightful experience! It is a beautiful theatre with no bad seat in the house. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Heck, there wasnt even a wait for a beverage at intermission! Oh yeah, South Pacific was superbly cast and eloquently delivered. Well definitely return soon!

A Comedy of Terrors is a must see if you want (or need) a good laugh. I have not laughed so much in a long time. I only wish there was a second song in the play (or in the fantastic bow scene afterwards). The voices were so wonderful in the song scene!!!!

This once-unknown community playhouse has become a major regional theatre hosting sell-out shows like Christmas 2019s Singin in the Rain. I received tickets from my wonderful wife for the family to see the December 28th show, and noticed that all of the shows are SOLD OUT through the end of its run in late January. Be on the alert for an extension if you want to see this super show; OTC regularly extends popular productions several weeks.Singin features the very capable Rhett Guter as Don Lockwood, who playfully kicks the REAL RAIN into the front row during the immortal title tap number, Farrell Parker as Lina Lamont, complete with overbearing superiority complex and grating nasal voice straight from the movie (Am I dumb or somethin and ...and I kent sten em!), and Jacob Scott Tischler as Cosmo Brown, whose tap dance mastery steals the show.Go enjoy SOMETHING at the Olney Theatre Center - youll be glad you did. BOOK EARLY!

I have liked every production I have seen here. Their sets are always amazing and they get great actors for the performance.

We saw Elf the Musical and it was wonderful! The actors were all fun and had lots of personality and great voices. There were lots of dance numbers and the costumes were stunning. We always enjoy Olney Theatre and will keep coming.

Awesome theater experience right outside of Baltimore and Washington DC. Very high quality production value, high level of talent and creativity.

Beautiful Theater! My family has been coming here for years, and we have yet to be disappointed. They always put on amazing shows, and have a great staff to assist their guests. I highly recommend checking out a show if youre in town!

Had a wonderful time seeing a play here. It was easy to find and had ample parking.

The outside old a ratchet. But the inside was beautiful although Im pretty sure the ground in the theater where the seats are is concrete. Also the food was so unnecessarily expensive like it was $3 for 1 pack of skittles

We went for 3 adult and one children shows. Every time we were pleasantly surprised with the quality.The latest play had me blown away: the casting, the performance was amazing. The staff working at the box office are always extremely helpful. Highly recommend Olney Theatre. Can pretty much pick any show with a confidence.

Great show. Really charming venue. General seating and if you get there early to make sure you get the seat you want, they might ask you to move which is annoying.

I dont live close to the Olney Theater (35 miles), but the drive is always rewarded with excellent theater. Plus, the sleepy town is cute to explore and enjoy a meal too.

Big and beautiful. They perform wonderful plays.

What a lovely and intimate venue. The players were wonderful for that tier of performance and really elevated their skills, in my estimation when they resumed the show without a hitch after a false fire alarm went off and everyone had to evacuate to the lawn. The staff was equally professional, friendly and non alarmist despite this being a first for them with emergency preparedness! Well done all around!

Loved the Junie B. Jones performance! Outstanding and a must see for kids of all ages above 4.

Amazing place! I would say it rivals Strathmore!! We saw Once and it was magnificent! The acting the singing the production, the facilities! I was very impressed.

The In Olney Theatre is not a theatre that a Washingtonian would normally have on their radar screen. However, it should be. I am disappointed that it has taken so long for my husband and I to discover it. Great space; wonderful stages in both of their Theatres; highest quality directing and acting in their productions. What Find!

Very community-friendly theater, but check your ticket to know which building your show is in. There are three theater areas and an outdoor Theater seating. With three parking lots that can be parked in for any of the theaters. Normally plenty of parking unless multiple shows are showing at one time. if that is the case they normally have someone there to direct traffic into the parking lot. The shows are normally well directed. Occasionally they have specials on line with Groupon.

Fun little venue. I had a blast performing a leading part in an Indian folk dance program. I would definitely recommend checking out.

Always a wonderful experience. Easy parking, great performances, comfortable seating, decent pricing, and amazingly friendly staff. We always come as a large family group (15 to 20 of us) and the ages range from 5 to 87. We have two adults with mobility issues and OTC always does a great job accommodating them.

The professional shows here are stunning.

I consider Olney Theatre to be thefarm team for the major leagues (Broadway). The caliber of the talent is always top notch.

Saw Mary last night in the small theatre. Ok performance but each person played multiple roles and they switched scenes with no real delay. Thus the story which should be called Elizabeth was difficult to follow and boring. Real disappointment for a theatre that usually performs fine plays.

Olneys location is inconvenient, so I go there only when they produce a play that sounds interesting that cant easily be seen elsewhere. Last night we attended Labour of Love, a romantic comedy set in a Member of Parliaments local constituency office. The performances were good, especially the two leads, and the play was well-staged.

A Christmas Carol was amazing!

What a treat this theater is! Im not generally one for plays, but I saw Annie here, and it was simply delightful! The production quality was far superior to what I expected from a small community theater, and consequently, Im now contemplating season tickets. The concessions were fairly basic, but the lines moved quickly, and the service was with a friendly smile.

We had a great time at The Nutcracker! Wonderful, friendly folks at OBT. Well be back for another culture fix soon.

What a top-notch theater! I love this place! I saw an unforgettable, one-person performance of A Christmas Carol there (on Christmas Eve), just like the great Charles Dickens himself used to do way back when he would take his show on tour. The skilled actor I saw did an amazing job of performing this timeless classic! He expertly portrayed every single character with the utmost care and with a fog machine to boot (among other theatrical stage effects). If youve never been to the Olney Theatre Center to see a play or some other performance, I highly recommend that you go immediately! What are you waiting for, a special invite? Im giving you one now! In fact, why are you still reading this review!? Go, Go, GOOOO!!!

Since Jason Loewith took over as Artistic Director, this theater has become a powerhouse of incredible design, creativity, professionalism and talent that offers a great variety of shows appealing to all ages and many genres. Ive been a member over 30 years, and it has never been better. Plus, members are treated like royalty these days.

Lovely local professional theater. Would encourage anyone who would like a close up, plenty of free parking...to find a play they could enjoy.

We went here to see a show, and had a great time on several levels. First, the theater is a wonder. Large, with great sight lines, comfortable seats. Second, the cast was terrific, very professional, great actors. Third, the entire facility is very modern and beautiful. Finally, Olney has some really nice places to eat before the show and we really felt like we had taken a nice trip out of Washington DC even though it isnt that far.

Great place to see Broadway shows.

This is a pretty good theatre, but it is too far from DC to visit regularly.I just saw The Crucible this week, and the cast and production were both very good. Previously, I saw Guys and Dolls here, and The Importance of Being Earnest. Again, the cast and production were good each time - surpassing some of the better-known DC theatres.The audiences skew a bit older than average, as hard as that might be to believe.The Woodlawn Manor Cultural Park is very close and worth visiting.
