Great place overall. Worth exploring great views and trails great for photo opportunities. Overall great place to get away for part of the day to do some exploring and forget about the world. A very easy and not super strenuous hike which is great for families. I just wish there was more trail or more to do and see. Because I’m not a beginner hiker my girlfriend and I took our time through this beautiful park and it still it seemed to fly by in very little time.
This place far exceeded our expectations. It rained the night before we got there in the morning and we were not sure if it was safe to walk around. The owner reassured us it was fine even with all the leaves on the ground. We spent an hour following the well marked trails and we were amused by all the giant boulders scattered over 20+ acres. We could have spent another hour there but we were getting cold in the late October cloudy day. The owners led us to their wood burning stove to warm up and gave us detail direction to a great restaurant near Olean for lunch. Its an experience you dont want to miss if you are in the area.
Fantastic place, geological wonder and fun hike. Tons of old machinery, including out of Commission oil well and one still working when prices are higher. 1930s 40 hp power pulley
This is a beautiful place, with picnic spots, hiking, events, a gift shop and several notable sites. The roughly 1 mile long trail is dog friendly but you may need to carry them down the iron stairs or up the Indian stairs. Its an easy, fun hike with lots of images in the rocks. Great fun for kids, families or anyone who enjoys a little bit of whimsy, nature and a bit of geology. Dogs get in free! Beware of the sasquatch!
Beautiful place to hike. Very peaceful and like being in an enchanted wonderland. Lots of crevices in the rocks to explore. Very similar to Panama rocks. Definitely not a place for children, could also be extremely dangerous for people that arent very agile. a lot of tree roots and rocks sticking up, in the fall many are covered with leaves, if you arent an experienced hiker you could easily trip. Theres steep drop offs and many areas you could slip and fall, even the surfaces of the rocks are covered in a slippery film so its best not to get close to the edge. Definitely have shoes with good traction....
Great short hike but very interesting terrain. Not difficult to manage for most people, and plenty of areas to take decent pictures of very old rock formations. This area has lots of historical significance, and the owners freely share their knowledge as theyve been lifelong area residents. Gift shop has clothing, snacks and plenty of rocks, minerals, and gems for purchase. Oh, and restrooms are clean and picnic areas for families who may bring in their lunch. Did I mention it is dog friendly? You can bring the family pooch if theyre comfortable climbing on rocks and navigating narrow hiking paths.
Cool place to hike & visit! Beautiful drive down there & a change of scenery from the usual Fall walk through the Park. Only $5 bucks to walk through & staff was very nice!
Loved this place! Really cool and unique hike. We did the regular hike, it was about a mile. So awesome! You all had me hooked at the entrance. Such a cute, welcoming and charming place.
We l Iove rock city park. Been there many times. We take our kids and grandkids. Its usually colder down in the rocks but this year it was still muggy. We still enjoyed it. Definitely recommend you visit. The rock formations are huge and amazing.
The definition of AWESOME! Truly amazing to see! Hold on to hands of little ones until you are at the base of the rocks, there are some deep crevices, but with proper safety measures this is a wonderful place to take your family. It also has a large area with picnic tables, so bring a picnic lunch!
Rock City Park was great . We took our grandson to get out of the house finally and he was so excited and he had the best time. We climbed huge rocks we crossed over boulders we even met bigfoot. I recommend all parents, grandparents, and any other family members take a trip out the Rock City Park for the day climb some rocks, meet bigfoot, tame a bear, and have lunch at the camp grounds and the best thing is everyone is outside together on the mountain.
A very unique place to visit. We enjoyed the coolness of the shaded trails built at the bottom of huge conglomerate boulders. It was a wonderland of green trees and plants with little secret alcoves around every curve of trail. It was like natures Disneyland. There was a nice gift shop and museum to browse and the souvenirs did not gouge your pockets. Admission was very reasonable. Very nice people.
What an amazing place to visit! Trail is about a mile and very well marked and maintained. The rock formations are really cool.
This is an amazing experience...naturally created with time...breathtaking views, plus kind owners make the trip and experience worth every second of the hike
We took our grandchildren to Rock City Park about one week ago. The park is easy to get to and it is marked well from the road that you wont miss it. The owners were very nice to us all and they have a wonderful gift shop there; much more than I expected. The trail was nicely marked and wasnt too long or too short. Restrooms were very clean and had hand sanitizers and soap available. We will go again next year as my grandchildren loved it! I would highly recommend a visit to this park.
First time ever there and even with the weather was interesting. If I lived closer, I would definitely take my grandchildren! Customer service was the greatest!
Great prices, Very friendly staff, and this place is amazing.
If I lived closer, I would be here every day! We came to visit Holiday Valley and wanted to go hiking and am so glad that we did. Heres a tip, dont be crazy like us and somehow keep missing the stairs at the top of the trail.
Super Cool! Had no idea this place existed. Visited on the perfect fall day. We worth the drive.
The rock formations were superb. A short little hike through cool rock formations will leave you asking so many questions that few have answers too. Highly recommend.
This place is a must see! The views and scenery at every step was awesome! If you dont mind nature or climbing this is a perfect. The gift shop has so many things to see and so much information. Will definitely return.
Beautiful park with a large souvenir/gift shop. Nice day trip!
Cool place. Totally a must visit. Very educational and a fun little hike.
I love Rock City. I think Ive been here just about every year since the early 70s. A great place to spend a Fall afternoon wandering around among the rocks. Our visit to Rock City is always one of my favorite days of the year
We came here on a whim from Potter County and we LOVED it. Its not a hard hike though some parts are steep. And it is almost entirely in the shade. We brought our dogs with us too. Its a beautiful, brief hike and I would recommend it to anyone who likes nature.
Cool place with little trails through the rock formations. Great view at the end of the trail
Had a great time with some awesome people. This is a beautiful scenic park. And great exercise too.
Nice little hike! My family enjoyed it.
Really cool place to visit if you’re in the area. The “rocks” are very impressive and quite unusual. People are nice.
I had an amazing time discovering this hidden gem! Perfect spot to see the leaves change!
PSA this park is not free and only open from May-October. Just bummed with the longest drive but no park visit.
Really cool place with a lot of history. Definitely worth a visit. $5.00 hiking fee. Neat gift shop, and cool old relics from years past.
Great place very friendly owners
Great place to go on a super hot day. Beautiful natural formations and reasonably priced. Nice hike.
The giant rock formations are very cool and the trail is fun to explore. It is a bit run-down though and some areas are pretty unafe feeling if you have younger kids. Definetly worth a visit at least once.
Beautiful! Walked the trail in the pouring rain and it was still a great and beautiful adventure. Trail is not terribly difficult. Dont let fat mans squeeze turn you off in the beginning.
A must see if youre in the area! Not too hard of a hike & mostly shady. Owners are lovely.
A great area for a brisk walk to see gigantic Boulders, formations, Caverns, and all sorts of natural formations in types of rocks, and stones. The trail is easy to moderate and takes about an hour to do. Is a great time for the entire family..
I really liked the trails around the park and the rock formations are very beautiful. We were very well received the owners are polite people. unforgettable experience
Wonderful trip, trails to walk, gift shop. We had a fantastic day there.
Better than expected. Privately owned now. Seemed a tad out of maintenance outside in places but I enjoyed the rustic feel. Met the owners, fantastic pleasant people. The store has some really great items of you are into geology. Heard the video was a little bland but I probably would have enjoyed it. Just the right price for admission, I feel like I got a deal. Take the time and explore off the trails. There is one neat old oil well(?) down hill, about 3/4ths of the way through, that you can turn the gears on. Dont forget to check out the glowing rocks in the darkroom.
So fun! Inexpensive family adventure. Interesting. Educational.
A great destination for a road trip. Plenty to walk around and see
Awesome place to explore with kids and dogs too!
Fun and neat! Affordable and friendly.
Very fairly priced and quite a cool experience being surrounded by such large and rock formations. Really enjoyed exploring there and checking out some cool caves as well.
Holy cow just mind boggling so cool friendly people worth the admission me and girlfriend enjoyed it very much just bring water if is is hot weather I am going again to take my 6 an 4 years old kids good family time I also found this cool little black sack thing that was hidden to be found withe a letter supposed too heal and protect if u believe but very cool for me and new reastio ship during this quarantine I would bring a camera to next time
This adventure was well worth the $5 to wander around. And the owners were so nice!!! Make this a stop on your travels through Western New York.
Huge boulders. Nice walk through the forest. Cool place on a hot day.
Great natural experience, wish they would leave politics at home though.
Rock City is great, but Google maps wont take you there. The entrance is on NY Route 16. Just head south through Olean and you will see the signs. Google maps sent us around to the back side of the park on a dead end road where there is no enterance
One of my favorite areas to go to in the area I grew up in. Its amazing what you have in your backyard.
Very unique and a great place for kids and people that love rocks.
Very lovely place to go hiking at with your dogs. Make sure your dog can climb stairs tho.
Great under one hour hike around some amazing rocks and formations. Well marked trail. Wear non skid shoes.
Had a great time exploring and hiking through the great rock formations. Wear good boots or sneakers. Be careful. Enjoy.
Had a great time very nice walk.
Had a great experience and view of all the rocks
I had lots of memories at this place from the first time my parents took me there to the last time ill take my parents here its one of mother natures marvels absolutely beautiful at any time of the year its definitely a must see destination
So much fun! We go every year... sometimes twice!!
Very unique place lots of adventures await.
Beautiful place to visit. Family friendly. Trails can be difficult. Bring your lunch, as picnic tables are available. Not handicap accessible.
Really cool. Great for a date
Nice place to stop and visit...
Nice, short trails that lead both through and over a number of spectacular rock features. A bit of history scattered throughout the park as well.
AMAZING!! This place should be a national monument. Had a wonderful time the trail and looking at all the rocks.
Always a fun place to visit! An awesome park for an awesome price. Cant beat it!
Almost bypassed this place but really glad i didnt. Such a great place for a small hike with amazing views. For sure a must see and really enjoyed the friendly staff. For sure worth the stop...
Just as beautiful as I remembered it from my childhood hikes great views and perfect photo ops.
Beautiful and interesting place for small hike of 1 mile.
Its a fun way to spend a few hours admiring nature. Compared to State run or National parks the history and science is a little sparse. I appreciated the video of the history running in the main cabin. The rock structures themselves are beautiful and the trail is mild. The labels for many of the features are super useful for navigating and should be very entertaining especially for kids. Some of the patrons can be rowdy and loud so be warned on busy weekends. As best I could tell there was no one actively patrolling the trail.
Very neat place. Reasonable.
Great hike and a beautiful location
Fantastic day out for everyone. There are some stunning views and interesting history. Good prices on gifts as well. Bring some water and hiking boots. Toddlers will need to ride in a backpack carrier. The main trail is nice and there are shortcuts if you need to spend less time there. Excellent value for money.
We really enjoyed this place. Was worth the 2 hr drive to get there!
Always love this place! Pick a hot day to visit. Walking down into the rocks is so cooling! Fun place!
Very interesting rock formations. Trails are marked well and are easy to follow. The quartz conglomerate is slippery, even when dry...so be mindful of your shoe choice. This is a beautiful place.
Great place for a hike thru the rocks and a nice museum gift shop. The owners are really sweet folks.
Short hike, great scenery, highly recommend
Great place to visit and enjoy a hike
Admission of $5 per person gives you access to explore the expansive park filled with clever markings and optical illusions. Truly unique and worth the visit. Great for kids and adults.
Incredible place to experience!
1st time. Place is huge
You will be amazed by this rock garden, towering rocks way above as the trail weaves through the huge cracks and overhangs, bridges, dont miss the Indian stair case. Meaning naturally there before settlers arrived. The trail is moderate, to easy, about 3/4 of a mile, but has some elevation losses and gains. Its worth the slight effort.
This was a wonderful place! The kids truly enjoyed, and it was easy hiking with awesome views. We will definitely make this a regular spot to visit!
So this place is definitely awesome! A nice one hour, 1 mile hike with some really cool and spectacular rock formations. Definitely worth the stop if you are in the area!
Great time and great views
Gorgeous views! Stopped here while traveling through the area after a family reunion. DEFINITELY a treat for nature lovers!
Very nice place to visit. The trail is easy. The sights are beautiful. Takes about an hour or so to see everything. There is a gift shop and a little museum. Worth the stop.
What an amazing walk thru historic trails lots of history to look at pet friendly family fun
Great hike and scenery in a compact area.
Nice place to wander with children and visitors. Interesting rock formations. Near to Olean. Good parking. Cost is reasonable.
A real fun and interesting place to explore. The rock formations are amazing. Fun for anyone.
The $5 entrance fee is absolutely worth it. Beautiful and worth a hike.
An amazing geological wonderland!
Love it here!! My 7 year old and 5 year old ask to go daily. Very reasonably priced at $5/adult and $3/kids. 5 and under free. I bought season passes for $12!! Cant beat that!!
Very nice place to relax and enjoy nature and rock formations made by nature.
Awesome place. Went for a day trip and the kids had a blast. Beautiful scenery.
Nice little place for a hike, usually not too busy or crowded so you can go and not be bothered by alot of people. Alot of fun rocks to climb around on!
