Hirundos trails weave around the homes of a plethora of Maines resident wildlife. Ive birded at Hirundo several times and seen a wide variety of species and even when birds are sparse turtles, mink, muskrat, snakes and deer are all likely sights. Quiet and consciences hikers will enjoy nature in abundance at Hirundo Wildlife Refuge.

Seemed a nice place for a picnic. It was hot when I got there and there were bugs, but there also were a pair of deer on the way in, a mother and fawn. Beautiful area.

Beautiful area. Lots of side trails to explore. Plenty of parking. Trails are easy to follow and well maintained.
