Ive always been a fan of aquariums and enjoyed what Blue Zoo offers to its patrons during my visit. The new facility is conveniently located in Quail Springs mall. I can appreciate the diverse array of species that Blue Zoo offers and although the facility is not as big as other zoo/aquarium establishments I have visited in the past, it makes efficient use of the space available on both levels so that there is always something to catch your eye. Though it was busy on our visit, it did not feel overly crowded.I also like that touching is permitted to a certain areas to allow for interaction but I do hope that the animals are given a break periodically throughout the day as some visitors may be forceful with their handling. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely seemed to enjoy working at Blue Zoo which enhances the customer experience. Overall, it was a great date for my wife and I to get away and connect with wild life. I would recommend a visit to Blue Zoo if you are a fan of animals.

DEAR BLUE ZOO YOU HAVE HIRED SOME GREAT STAFF,!Beau- You impressed me so much. You helped my little girl climb the rock wall. she didnt touch the green, but she tried for so MUCH LONGER than I would have expected with YOUR encouragement and focus on her conquering that wall! A bit later, she tried again and almost made it. But right before we were going home, she tried a third time and she touched the green! She was so proud of herself we went looking for you so she could tell you she DID IT! Sadly, we couldnt find you.We will be back again and I sure hope its on a day you are there as well. All of the employees we encountered were JUST AS WONDERFUL! THEY ENGAGED WITH EVERYONE WITH FUN FACTS AND GENUINELY SEEMED TO ENJOY THEIR JOBS AND SEEING THE DELIGHTED FACES GETTING A HANDS ON EXPERIENCE!Not one seemed annoyed to be at work like is sadly a new normal. The exhibits were not all completed yet too--and I would still come back for the staff was that excellent.WE WILL BE BACK!

Great day date with my hubby. The prices are too high in my opinion considering the zoo. $50.00 for my and my husband and 4 feeding tokens seems steep. If you have older children this place IS. NOT. FOR. YOU. I feel kids below the age of 10 would enjoy this. Nice, but probably wont be back. I am glad we came just us two before thinking of bringing the kids. Not a place for teenagers none the less high-school students. 10 MAX! Nice animals and clean facility. Thank you.

Fantastic place to see aquatic species and be able to enjoy some education as well. The aquarium is on the ground floor but they also have a few exhibits on the top floor. On the top floor they also have other animal exhibits including birds and reptiles. The price of entry was reasonable and the gift shop has all kinds of goodies to take home.

My daughter absolutely adores this place! Weve been twice since they opened last month and its just such a super fun place! They have something like four different animal feeding experiences, lots of indoor playground areas and an awesome, eclectic array of animals to check out! The staff is super friendly and they definitely do a fantastic job of keeping the place clean! Would definitely recommend checking this place out and we cannot wait to go back!! ️

We had my daughters birthday this past week and it was awesome! Beau, the mermaid and the rest of the staff were super cool! The downfall of the party. We were told we could only be 15 min early to set up because someone else had a table in the room prior . Came from 2 hrs away, got there & nobody else was in the room. By the time I was done setting up, we probably only had 30min min to actually play and look around before a visit from the mermaid and a the snake. So you can buy add ons to the party, which I did the mermaid & the snake 30$ each wasnt bad, BUT I thought it was going to be a little private show for her, while it was actually a scheduled show, they had 3 mermaid in the shell when we first arrived to set up & they were already showing the snake up in the play area upstairs. So I really paid extra for nothing. The time. If you want to have to time to chill out, Id rent the whole room for 2 sessions because 1hr 45min just wasnt enough by the time all out guest arrived. But overall it was a good 1st birthday for my baby & Nami (No-MEE) was awesome everytime I talked to her. She made me feel super special every time she called! The whole staff looks like some good chill people!

This place is awesome!!!! I was afraid it would be small and not worth the money. Boy, was I wrong!!! I bought the year pass to go back often!!!! I live over an hour away and plan on going no less than once a month! A great thing is, when you pay for your day if you love it and want to go ahead and get the year pass they will use your day pass toward the purchase of the year! They have lots of aquariums, including sharks!! They have a sting ray tank!!!! That part was my absolute favorite!!! There is also a bird room where you can feed parakeets and a reptile room with several different types of reptiles. Lots of play places for kids to play. I would definitely recommend you going!

We finally went to the Blue Zoo. Wow! If you are looking for an amazing place to take the kids, this is it! The touch tanks, interactive areas, and you can feed birds, stingrays, and even get your hands cleaned by fish! Absolutely wonderful staff! Justin was at the stingrays and he was so nice. He took the time to explain to us each ray and gave us the food to feed them so we could have a great family experience. After the Rays we held starfish and a slug ( eww) and then headed over to the sharks. They were small but very fun to watch. We were told they will grow into their tank and this allows the mermaids to swim with them right now. We headed upstairs..yes there is an elevator, and my daughter saw the birds! We ran to the birds where Thomas was. He was probably the nicest staff member we had. He was so friendly. Held the door for us and explained all the safety rules with the birds. Helped us get our seed and then even came over to help a little girl beside us who was scared of a bird that landed on her. Very nice! After the birds we made our way to the hand cleaning fish and touched turtles on the way to the reptiles. We had a line for the reptiles, and almost did not wait, but then Nicole came and was super friendly and invited us into the space. She told us about each animal and what they are and where they were in the enclosure. We got to hold Bonnie the bearded dragon and had a blast with her. Nicole just kept telling us the whole time about their habitat and getting their nails done and what they eat. We were sad we could touch the snake that day ( it was molting, and it was explained to us that it may bite since it can not see clearly) but other than that the time was amazing and well worth the price! If you want to have a good time and learn some trivia, take a trip to the Blue Zoo! I have four teenagers and they all loved it so do not think this is for little kids only! Also if you want to make it a day thing, you go in the morning ( my recommendation is that you are there first thing. Less people and the animals are hungry) then go have lunch, do some shopping and come back! Your wrist band is good for ALL DAY!

Basically, if you want Corona here… other reviews have often stated along with mine now, that the mask policy is not enforced witch is very apparent among arriving. Often the response is met with Jordan’s half a$sed response as followed“The employee was correct, due to HIPPA, we are not allowed to ask what, if any, medical condition a person might have if they are not wearing a mask. We would welcome the opportunity to hear from you at [email protected]. Thank you”Which is partly true but as a (might I say ignorant)business owner you have a RIGHT to refuse service to anyone without a reason which leaves no excuse for anyone and everyone who enters the facility to have on a mask.Yours truly Harrison Wright.(Can’t wait to hear another bs response)

There was another employee helping at the front desk without a plexiglass window. There was no enforcement of your social distancing stickers and your employees didn’t seem to care either...my husband had to ask one to back up six feet. I will not return...not nearly what I thought it would be. As a small business I would think you would take better care of your customers. We enjoyed our time here but it wasnt exactly what we were expecting. The price is very steep for what you actually get. Im sure if you get a pass it would be worth it more, but not for a day ticket. For 3 people and 4 food tokens it cost us $60. We went on a weekday about 2 pm so it wasnt busy. I wish we had been told up front that the sting ray feeding time was already over for the day because thats really the only reason we bought the tokens. The sting ray tank was the highlight of the trip, they were so fun to pet and watch. Unfortunately there was a grown man throwing sand on the largest sting rays back and pushing his hand down on top of him to smash him into the sand. I spoke with an employee who was working the starfish area after seeing the sting ray not move for quite a while and she explained that when they get stressed they do that, but that they would check on him if he didnt go back to his normal self. I have been sick to my stomach about it since then hoping he was okay. The shark area would be nice, however, the clear plastic bags full of sand look tacky. It makes the tank not look well cared for. Im not sure if there was a reason for the bags instead of just pouring the sand on the bottom but to me it just didnt look greatI was honestly surprised at how little aquarium there is in the grand scheme of things. A few tanks on the bottom level and a couple on the top, but most of the top level is just water tables, a noise making area, a rock climbing wall, etc. The bird area was nice but it was honestly kind of sad watching them. They were terrified of all the kids, including the ones who were picking them up and squeezing them despite being told not to. We did enjoy the manicure fish and the reptile area.I think when you pay the same price as a day ticket to some of the larger aquariums like Dallas World Aquarium, the Jenks aquarium, etc., you expect more for the money. I think if you have smaller children and buy a pass this would be a great way to pass the time. My 7 year old enjoyed it for sure, but for the cost and how little there was I just dont think this will be a regular occurrence for our family. On a brighter note, every single employee from the front desk to each exhibit were extremely friendly. They all seemed to really enjoy their jobs and be passionate and knowledgeable about the animals they were caring for. The employees can really make or break a business and every employee here was doing an excellent job!

What an incredibly fun, educational, family-friendly experience—The @OKCBlueZoo’s knowledgeable, exciting, and interactive staff made our afternoon at the Quail Springs mall an unexpected and worthwhile outing!Zoo staff are well-educated and enthusiastic about the wildlife they are entrusted. Mr Tyler, an Eagle Scout from the area, helped our 6-month daughter feed stingrays with her bare hands. He told us how the staff treats them by entering into the tank themselves to feed them & to inspect their health closely.Ms Gemini introduced us to “Doser”, a 5 y/o African Land Tortoise, who proved to be slightly faster than our crawling baby! Their reptile exhibit is interactive & impressive to see such great lizards so close. And Ms Ashley showed us how to hold out our hands to let the parakeets perch & eat from our arms—Their aviary feels open & is very clean, so our little one loved toddling around as the birds flew overhead! When I would ask a question about the animal or enclosure, the staff always responded with excitement and a knowledgeable fact—I learned more than I would have expected to receive. They seem to genuinely care about the animals, their enclosures, this company, and how we as patrons are enjoying ourselves. I would recommend this Zoo/Aquarium/Education Center to any parent and especially to school educators for elementary field trips.#Family friendly#Military friendly (discount)#Great play areas for newborn to ~8 y/o#Perfect 30 min to 2 hr getaway#Educational#Cute date idea#Birthday parties#Clean & well-staffed#Interactive#Friendly service#Great location

Would give 0 stars if I could. A thorough disappointment. A large number of the few exhibits they have are empty because of covid, but they still charge full price. They dont care much for the animals. The reef shark tank had full bags of sand (plastic and all) just dropped in the bottom. The sand shark in the ray tank kept bumping its nose because its nose in the corners of the tank. The poor parakeets will probably all be dead soon, either from stress or mishandling (people kept crowding and grabbing them, and the employees did nothing to stop it). They imply having big sharks, but they only had 1-2ft reef sharks (which is probably a good thing since their tank was rectangular). All-in-all this is just trying to use the novelty of interacting with exotic animals in the city to get people in their doors. All spending money at this place is doing is supporting the abuse and mistreatment of animals.

If I could I’d give less than 1 star. This place is a waste of time and money. The only part that is an “aquarium” is downstairs. The upstairs is a kiddie park essentially. The employees do not have proper training to be handling animals. They also advertise education, with none to actually be found. The plaques on the wall provide little information, and most do not even tell which animals are what. There was a fish that was dying in a tank, and when I told an employee, they said “he’s alive, he’s fine”. There was also a dead fish in the axolotl tank, the axolotl’s also were missing their tails. Do not waste your time or your money!

The staff were very nice but I felt horrible being there. It was overcrowded and all of the animals looked miserable. The tanks were small and visibly dirty, we saw a dead fish floating in one, children were being allowed to touch the tortoises head without supervision and all of the other reptiles looked distressed. I don’t think this place is capable of taking care of most of these animals and I felt guilty financially supporting it.This aquarium is being run like a playground, masks are not being enforced, the stress on the animals has got to be exponential due to the noise levels and the overcrowding. The animals themselves were not being monitored. There was one staff member in charge of watching the whole stingray petting tank and same thing with the parakeets. Despite their best efforts, there’s no way they would be able to have eyes on everything that goes on.The layout of the space is horrible, we were constantly being bumped into others since there was no flow and no directions for traffic. This place does not need to be open in the middle of a pandemic.

And that was just downstairs upstairs thats what really blew my mind they have all kinds of water tables set up kids can build and set up catch fish build water slides and the water tables even play music. Then theres a rock climbing wall a huge maze path all kinds of play equipment its like a giant jungle have fun. If you have kids this is where they need to be they can learn while having a blast, even if you dont have kids you need to go check this place out cuz its awesome. My daughter got to live out her dream of feeding a real turtle, huge TMNT fan by the way. Even if you dont have kids you really need to go check this place out cuz its cool Ive been to quite a few aquariums and this is better than any of them. We just happened to stumble upon this place because my nephew wanted to go to an aquarium for his birthday so glad we did even though its not in my state that I live in I will definitely be back soon to visit because its honestly worth it.plus staff was super helpful n very nice!!

We have kept up with Blue Zoo OKC since they started posting their opening. When they opened we went the second day and it was nothing short of amazing. My toddler enjoyed every part about it. There is something for everyone to do here. They have so many interactive activities that you wont want to miss out on! Make the drive and make a day out of the Blue Zoo OKC and all they have to offer, you will not be disappointed.

My daughter loves octopuses! This is why we went! In there commercial there is an octopus and when u walk in the mall there is a giant picture of an octopus! So we find out there r 2 baby ones that r getting acclimated so they r in this tiny aquarium you would see at your house and u cant see them at all. There was no clear direction on where to get food to feed what animals. Tiny sharks that I dont even know what kind they ate cuz it doesnt say. The play place is nice but if I were to describe it its an indoor playground with some scenery. Thats all. We feel it was false advertising and far as the octopus goes and we wont be going back to pay 60 dollars for my kid to play. Not even any big sharks. Or a giant sea turtle. What a joke.

First off, price. Very expensive for what it currently is, maybe once all the exhibits open itll be worth while but in the mean time I cant imagine why theyre charging full price. I really want changes made for the birds. The amount of times I saw children haphazardly grabbing them or nearly stepping on them was giving me crazy anxiety. How about just having a normal aviary that allows a stricter amount of people in at a time with an employee handling a few birds at a time and rotating the animals through the day. (giving the other birds time to be away from the chaos) Your animals are going to get hurt, it only takes one second.

Its good for younger kids. It does have some reptiles, birds, and fish. Kids can pet the reptiles and feed them, feed the birds, feel the stingray, pet a snake, and see a few other things. In my opinion, it wasnt worth the $125 I spent for 6 people. My kids are 10, 14, 16, and we had an 18 year old with us and 2 adults. It does have alot of play activities for kids to enjoy. We bought the coins to feed some animals but none of them were feeding so we wasted $25. Also had exhibits closed due to covid. An actual zoo or another aquarium would be better. But if you want an indoor play place for children, this would be the place.

A little disappointed. Half of the exhibits are closed and there is not enough space to move, even if we weren’t in the middle of a pandemic. Staff was absolutely amazing, but it is a LOT of money for your whole family to go for a very little experience. I think the idea is great but I would save your money and go to the actual Zoo or even a playground.

A big let down. Overpriced for a tiny aquarium. Just go to Tulsa for a real aquarium experience. This is just a couple fish tanks and a play area. Womp womp.

I would put no stars if possible, the conditions of the animals at Blue Zoo is unacceptable. Here is just a few things while me and my partner were at the enclosures. The flowerhorn Cichlid in the Pacu inclosure were aggressive and attacking other fish drawing blood. Half the downstairs tanks were cloudy and filled with debris. There were dead fish inside the freshwater pufferfish enclosure. The milk snake had only a stick for enrichment with no hide, leaving it highly stressed. Male bearded dragons were forced to stay in an enclosure with each other (as confirmed by the manager). Parakeets are highly stressed much of which in a cramped enclosure unable to avoid customers on a busy day. When we approached staff about this the manager told us that it was not his department and there are staff there that have degrees that know more about this. With no confidence with any change being made we asked for a refund to be told there is a no refund policy. They tried to offer more tickets but coming back after everything would just make me sick. I DO NOT RECOMMEND Blue Zoo, if you want to see better care taken of the animals and exhibits go to Jinx Aquarium.

We visited on the 3rd day of opening and got in rather quickly. We had no waiting line and got to go as what pace we wanted to view the animals. Having interactions of feeding and holding animals was amazing for our 3 kiddos. We prolly spent about an hour and a half with just the stingrays and sharks that happened to be our favorite! We did miss the mermaid show which was a bummer and were told she comes out once a day so not knowing exactly when was a letdown. A few animals still off display due to Covid which is understandable but overall our family had a great time!

My wife and I went to the Blue Zoo today with our daughter and 2 grandsons today at the Quail Springs Mall in OKC. It was a total blast with the stingrays, starfish, snakes, birds, lizards, and kids playgrounds. It is well worth the money and the time and your kids will love it too. And when was the last time you went to a zoo in the air conditioning? So go for it and have fun. Thanks, PJ Atkinson

Overall my kids had a great time. We arrived at 10:55 to get in line. The line was just 3 small groups deep but we finally got in at 11:25. Theres only one register and one cashier so people are trying to buy items from the gift shop at the same register that checks people in.It was our first time so I wasnt aware that there was even a second level until I saw people going into an elevator. Just wish there was more signage about the great upper level! And more signage about what you can use your tokens for.I was expecting a bit more out of the tokens. I bought two ray food, fed the turtle and bought one birdseed capsule. All of which are very small (i.e. one tiny piece of lettuce to feed the turtle). Im still deciding if that was worth $10 extra dollars for 4 tokens. And lastly, PLEASE open at 10am. Being a mom of small children, lunchtime is at 11:00 and nap time is at 1:00. It wasnt enough time to checkin and explore before its time to eat or time to go. I wish there was either more lunch options than snacks or we could bring our own food to eat in a designated area.I understand that Covid is taking its part so there will be kinks to work out. However, we will probably go back again.
