Facilities are being upgraded on a regular basis, several areas have cover from the sun and easy vehicle access
Nice range. Nothing fancy, just good old rustic range with dirt berms. No over head blocking boards to annoy you. Also no benches or chairs if you need them for rifle bring your own. They do have cable spools and a few metal tables to use but not the best for bench shooting. Nice distance out to 400 yards on rifle range. Friendly staff. They are no nonsense about safety and horseplay which is nice. Make sure they are open for public before you go if your not a member. If your local just pay the $150/year and join its worth it.
Took gun handling & safety class... Instructor was very knowledgeable & the class was worth every cent. My husband was around & felt that he would like for our daughter to take class as well... Staff very friendly & safety is of the upmost importance on the range!
This is a great place to go shoot. Different ranges are available for pistol, rifle, and shotgun. Plus they have a paintball course. You can rent the paintball range for birthday parties or events. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
Went out to shoot. Had a great time. Friendly staff.
Great range. No frills, no BS. Just like I like it!
Great place just please follow the very simple saftey rules if you visit
I like the Odessa area outdoor gun range because it is so much closer than the only other gun range in my area. They also have a paintball field and sell ammo, targets, etc.... you can rent a spotting scope in case you forget your own. They have you covered, even at night. They have lights for night time shooting or paintball.
First, it’s not a private club like MSA. Anyone can show up and shoot by paying either the daily fee or the yearly membership fee. I’m yearly. (Veterans discount.) It’s a very relaxed atmosphere, but safety is the number one priority. Example: I was there at the 100 yard range one day and someone was rapid firing over at the 300 yard range. I was about to walk over and explain the issue, but the range officer quickly showed up and put a stop to it. There are rules for a reason. Before you’re allowed to shoot you must take a safety class. Once you’ve taken it you are given a signed slip that states you have taken it. Keep it with you as you may need to show it on your next visit. I have taken pictures of my safety and membership cards that I keep in my phone – their suggestion. I laminated the hard copies and keep them in my wallet. They have the essentials for sale if you need something like targets or ammunition and they have guns, gongs and such for rent. Want your LTC? They can help you with that. It’s convenient to be able to shoot at the 100 yard range, move over to 300 yards and then pack up, switch gears and head over to the pistol range. I always go during the week as the place is popular enough that the pistol range can get pretty busy on weekends.Other reviewers complaints about the bell system are silly. 15 minutes of shooting time is plenty. Then the bell rings for five minutes and you get to go check your targets and set up new ones. Without the bell, how do you ever get to go down range to do this? (Yeah, I have a spotting scope too.) When that bell rings just clear your weapon, lay it down and don’t touch it again until that bell stops - even if youre ready to leave. Don’t go down range until you’re sure everyone has stopped shooting and don’t start shooting again until you’re sure no one is still down range – even if the bell has stopped ringing. It’s all common sense and paying attention. And by the way, if you have quality headgear you CAN hear the bell. My muffs are electronic and I hear everything fine while wearing them.I’ve only been a member for a few months, but I’ve never had a problem with any of the staff here. Everyone I’ve spoken with has always been friendly and accommodating. THEY ALWAYS STRESS SAFETY! Get caught screwing around or damaging property and you sill likely be asked to leave. I, for one, appreciate that. If someone else is unsafe then I’m not safe.I like this place. It’s wide open with room to move about. So much better than an indoor range. Just be sure to bring your own chair. ;)
Love this place great place to spend the day
Very fun to go shooting very well put together. I am a little upset they got rid of the last guy that used to run that place he was awesome!
Great place to shoot any guns at and reasonable price, friendly owners
Great place to shoot! I love being able to move around from pistol to rifle distances so easily. It’s not hard to be safe out there if you listen and understand the range rules. Range officer gives great instruction when you arrive. Finally became a member! Some of these ignorant bad reviews are sad. I remember at a very young age my parents taught me how dangerous a firearm is as well as the proper safe way to handle them. Maybe these terrified parents should take the shoot em up games off their children’s gaming consoles and teach them that firearms are not toys and life is not a game. Anyways, rant over. This range is a place to have fun and relax.
Great place to practice. Plenty safety without someone breathing down your neck. Shoot up to 400 yards. If they add a few more tables and a 500+ yard range easily could be a 5 star.
I retract my previous comment.. great place just make sure you drive to the back... definitely the best place in the basin.
Been once was very unorganized. tried goin today and sat at the gate for 30 minutes then left cuz no one apperantly works there.
This place was iffy when I reached, but turned out to be a good time after all it was cool shooting outside versus inside
Suuuuuper nice and ultra helpful people price to high though
Been a member for years! I never expected The Hilton, just wanted a good place to shoot. Matts been working hard to make it better and better. It does take time.As a former Combat handgun champion and High power rifle ace, I dont need no stinking fancy cushions.Safety first makes some upset, but Its well worth it.
Friendly staff. Long range, shotgun, rifle, and pistol range. Also have 2 paint ball fields speed ball and a urbanist field
Been going here since January and love it nothing fancy but covered shooting stations and uncovered stations have seen some negative reviews but after going 3 or 4 times a week I see alot of people not following range rules and think that the bell rings to often I like that I prefer bulls eye shooting over rapid firing some people think they should be able to 500 shots and dont care about the target or where there hitting and dont have any respect for other people shooting I wish they would go some where else I take all 4 of my grand kids here to shoot ages 5 to 11 and I like the safe environment and great staff
Love going shooting here! We taught our kids how to shoot here. The bombs are awesome too!!!
One word wonderful experience
I am a member. Great place to shoot in Odessa. Very reasonably priced!
Owner of the Paintball Field is very irresponsible posted on Facebook with pictures and I have screenshots to prove it that he left a fully loaded stub nose on the paintball field where children could potentially get it has no regard for children safety as he keeps posting multiple pictures of him setting his real Firearms next to paintball markers basically stating he has no regard for any children safetyAfter many people got on his case in the paintball world on Facebook he sat here and removed the review ability for his Facebook page tries to say that everybodys reviews are fake reviews yet doesnt realize people like myself do travel and I have been to that field with friends that live in that area after seeing his post on Facebook I was very upset as I bring my four-year-old out to Fields with me and what would happen if my four-year-old got a hold of that firearm while it was loaded and pulled the trigger and somebody got hurt! He is very irresponsible should not own a field you should not bring your children there as I stated before he has no regard for safety or the safety of our children I have screenshots of all of the photos that she had posted on Facebook and screenshots of my review from Facebook and others reviews from Facebook I will be contacting higher authorities to make sure that he is cited or held responsible for his actions should posting things on social media that are a safety concern too many parents and other paintball players! And I will be screenshotting this review in case he deletes it or comments trying take back what he has put on social media and I will be screenshotting his response to this thank you all for taking your time and reading this hopefully you all find a better field that will take care of you and make sure you are safe and will not put you in danger
Dude leaves loaded firearms out around children and out on feilds for someone to trip over and/or accidentally get shot. I have screenshots to prove this. He also cracks jokes about his carelessness and poor safety procedures. I will never go to a range/paintball feild where the owner laughs and doesnt even care about proper gun ownership. Keep this in mind when wanting to play at this idiots feild
I really like this place my only problem is the staff that works there i mostly go on the weekend theres this one guy that drives a Gray colored Kia its like every time i see him he is messing with someone.just look out for this guy its like he gets a kick out of telling people what to do i think it makes him feel big or something this guy is always looking over your shoulder and his buddys show up looking at you like they wanna kick your ass.but overall its a ok place to go shoot
Great operators. Safe and secure. Large shooting areas.
It was just awesome! Mat was really nice, we rent some rifles and a 9mm SIG SAUER and had a lot of fun with 2 day passes. The bombs are blasting!
Well kept fields. Turf field is the best in West Texas.
Great time at a great price if your into guns
They dont open at their posted hours... they have two phone numbers listed... neither of which rings through... cant leave a message...you text the numbers.. they answer back... but if they arent the range safety officer on duty they care less.. three times ive been to this range.. same stuff everytime...totally a disappointment..watched them lose at least 6 paying cistomers.. due to a failure to be open for the hours posted.. this is a sham...waited two hours... and for what...total waste
We love it...various distances...ideal to practice multiple guns...worth the money...
Where is this place at??? I went by gps and it brought me to nowhere.
Great place to go shooting the guns, beats going to the pit and being worried of other unsafe/unknown shooters.
This range is amazing. And so is the staff.
Dirty and cheap. Set up with bells that got for 5 minutes, every twenty minutes signalling cease fire that dont always work and are difficult to hear, especially with quality hearing protection. Very unprofessional, loud mouthed, and smart ass kid in charge.
Good for ant type of gun
Great staff and an awesome time
Super friendly staff!
Awesome range
Love this place!
