Good place for your saltwater needs, i started my tank over a year ago with them and stuck with them since. I am very disappointed of the fact that they are continuously placing corals under wrong pricing and nothing is being done about it. Twice this has happen with me picking up a Coral for a decent price and when cashing out they tell me another price which gives me no choice but to put it back due to not even trying to work with the price. Today their were all combo rocks placed in the section of combo rocks for $75 I went to cash out along with two other fish and fresh water. I was told the piece was $200 not $75 not even an apology when I ask the cashier about it being listed as $75 just a giggle and NO THIS IS A $200 PIECE. VERY DISAPPOINTED!

My husband and I hired aquatic design and development to put in a koi pond for us. I got a few estimates, some was more money one was a little less, however we felt that Tom ( the owner) was so more knowledgeable then anyone else we talked to. We are so thankful we picked this company. Tom kept in touch with us right up to starting day. He showed up with workers and went over everything to make sure there wasn’t any problems. They had to reroute some things in the way and said it was no big deal and just did it. There was five guys working and they were the hardest working and most polite guys we have ever had do anything for us. These guys were such perfectionist’s and made sure the rocks fit perfectly. The last day Tom showed up and went over everything and made sure we were happy. We couldn’t be happier. This pond exceeded our expectations by miles. If you’re thinking about putting in a pond, don’t waste your time or money with anyone else. This company is awesome and I’m not that easy to please.

This is definitely the place to go if you are into salt tanks. Its ok for pond fish etc. Covid Im sure its not helping, but not pleased with pre order fish for pond service. Again this place has great reef and salt tanks supplies and fish. Very nice people.

Tanks are very clean and all the fish look healthy and a great selection. I drove 45 minutes to the store and it’s well worth the drive!

I have been frazzled about food grade cauld for water trough for animals and then I called aquatic designs and spoke to Melissa where she was so wonderful and enthusiastic to assist me and a question that didnt even pertain to purchase from their establishment and was given 100% accurate information that I know when I am ready for a fish tank and Aquatic tank that I highly recommend Aquatic Design and development. Love this place!!! It reminds me of my go-to reef shop when I lived in Memphis, TN. (Memfish, LLC) below was my 40 breeder stocked almost entirely by Memfish. Sadly, it no longer exists... but I have plans to start up a nano reef and now I know exactly where Ill be sourcing my new tank inhabitants from

Sad to say that Tom of Aquatic Designs failed to provide what we had paid for. We hired him to complete a custom job for us, paid him, and the job was not measured correctly, installed properly, or taken care of after the fact. We even contacted professionals to get other opinions and each of those businesses informed us the job was not done properly and they had seen this happen to other customers who used Tom at Aquatic Designs. We lost a lot of money with nothing to show for it. We only wish we had talked to all the other customers who also had been ripped off by Tom at Aquatic Designs before we did business with him. He talks a convincing talk, but unfortunately the end result doesn’t match what he promises. Buyers please be better aware than we were.

We spent a good hour or more talking to one of the employees about getting our new tank up to where it needs to be. He provided us with so much great information.They have a great selection of everything!This is our new favorite saltwater fish store!

Busy, but clean some prices are good while some of the corals are over priced and miss identified. Was happy with my perchance though and they are thriving. Was a little worried about the bicolored blenny as the lady tried to shake it out of a shell( it was hiding in )while out of the water. So far so good. My first time visiting this store.

We live in a very rural area of Central Florida and love our salt water tank. After visits to Tampa, Orlando, and the local store we felt lucky to find Aquatic Design on the internet. I made a call the day before our visit and Tom was very courteous on the phone and encouraged us to bring a water sample for our first visit. When we entered the store it was a JOY to see such a cool saltwater selection upon entering the store! The store was clean, inviting and I even got excited when I peaked around the corner to see another room full of tanks. Lesli met us when we entered, took our water sample and were off shopping. She did such a great job explaining what was going on in our tank and it made sense. In our journey to the Saltwater tank experience she was a great source of information and I am begging for a bigger tank! Maybe someday, but I am sure Aquatic Design will be our GO TO place for that tank and more for our current tank needs! If you are looking for a locally owned store and staff that knows what’s going on this is the place. Just a FYI - They have a great selection on Fish, shrimp, frags, and Feather Dusters! I’ve been doing freshwater aquariums for years and I wanted to dip my toe into the saltwater hobby. I walked into the store and not only was I impressed with how clean and well organized the store was, but I left feeling encouraged and more educated without being forced to buy anything. If I do plan to get into the hobby as a beginner, I will definitely come to this store for all my purchases and advice.

All of the staff are extremely friendly, passionate about their work, and more than helpful! They treat their customers like family.The store is always fresh, changing, and very well stocked. If you need anything special, they have no problem ordering it for you. Also, the store is clean, tidy, and kept in extremely good condition. Fish and corals are always kept and maintained in great shape and health . Never had a single issue with any fish, coral, or equipment/service calls from them! Lastly, you can check for yourself, they have the best prices by far anyway in or near Ocala. Id never go anywhere else!

This was the first time ever going to this aquarium and first impression was amazing every one is so nice and personable, the store is absolutely immaculate, well lit, smells amazing, all around awesome deals. Regaurdless if i get a job there or not i recommend them above all other stores here in ocala!!!!!

They will answer any of your questions about anything without making you feel stupid.They were truly amazing in helping me with my 75 gallon cycle correctly and helped me with the issues I had and followed up with me to make sure it was back on the right track again.They take pride in their work and it shows. Their live stock is always healthy and well cared for. They are well stocked in supplies and if they dont have it theyll get it for you including some live stock. I am very happy that I found this business and can honestly say that theyre my only go to place for any of my saltwater needs.

I often see small businesses lack in areas of customer service. Not because they want to be intentionally rude to customers but just the simple fact that they lack time management, people skills and urgency. Things like acknowledging a customer just to ease them or let them know they are still in que is vital in a businesssetting. At Aquatic Design they demonstrated amazing customer service that you would expect from a large corporate facility. Im pleased to call this my new saltwater aquarium destination. Their sea anemone display was amazing. Their fish selection not so much but, this was due to the season as it is end of season so there wasnt a huge selection. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Tom and/or Leslie or any of their staff are all friendly, very helpful and knowledgable about marine aquariums. We first came into the store to see what kind of livestock they had available. After bringing in a water sample, which they tested at no cost to us. We were given a hard copy of the analysis with recommendations to correct the problems that were found. We brought in water samples in until the water tested within normal limits to support our fish and corals. Without their help we probably would of never gotten our tank straight. LI would definitely recommend Aquatic Design for all your marine tank needs. 5 Gold Stars!

Firsted visit on 6/26/2018. Excellent service (Eric) featuring a clean and well stocked store. Ive been to Gainesville, Tampa, Spring Hill, etc. So far none of the stores Ive visited measure up to Aquatic Design. This will be my go-to store from now on.
