My kids love going there. Its got a lot of fun and educational things for them to be hands-on with. They have a water table and two sand tables on the first floor. The second floor has a whole lot more to see and do. There is arts and crafts, a childrens grocery store, a solar system exhibit, a medical area kids can pretend to be a paramedic or doctor and more. Itll keep your kids busy for a couple of hours easily.

Amazing children’s museum. We just moved to oak lawn and were pleasantly surprised to have this to go to, especially during winter with our 1.5yr old. The family membership is a great price if your going to go more than 6times in a year. We go here about once a week. Plenty of actives for all ages under 13. A section for under 18month olds in the center 2nd level. Seems they are always improving sections. A nicely stocked gift store. Nice craft area. Decently sized eating area. My only concerns are the need for a family bathroom/ toddler sink/toilet. Also the gate on the 2nd floor to the stairs could be a bit more secure(our toddler loves pushing it open and tries to go down the stairs so we have to watch him very closely). Overall a great place to visit if you’re in the area. Never too busy like at navy pier one or the Kohl’s museum. Parking is free on the 5th floor of the metra parking garage.

My daughter loves going on shopping trips in here they also have an ambulance, fire truck, and police car your child can pay in. Downstairs they have a sand area an aquarium, water area also gravity games (think dropping golf balls down hill type stuff). Upstairs they have a shopping area with functioning scanner and cash register a cow you can milk a large operation game, magnet games, ice cream shop they can play in. a stage with 2 hand puppet areas with all kinds of clothes they can wear. wooden train tracks, a stuffed animal/doctor area, all kinds of good stuff...

Its perfect!!!! Better than the big museum downtown. They have lots of realistic activities kids will love. They had a pretend grocery store, costumes for shows, sit in police car, lots of learning activities. Not crowded, free parking, great staff everything was clean and in its place. I would definitely recommend this place I have a five year old and a 10.month old baby and they also had activities for the baby which was awesome! Five stars all the way across.

This is a nice place, convenient to take metra to. It is geared to younger kids up to about age 6. For kids 7 and older, there are a few things geared to them, but not as much. Ice cream shop next door completed the experience for me and my 7 & 1/2 year old.

DO NOT HAVE A PARTY HERE! Very expensive with no host, no help. You have no time to set your party up and enjoy the $350 room. We didn’t even have time to open gifts or sing happy birthday, since we didn’t have enough time to clean we were charged an additional $75 and the place was closing in another 30 minutes. Very dissatisfied and do not recommend anyone to have parties here. The place is nice for kids to come and play but not to host a birthday party, very rushed.

The place is interesting. There are many different activities. Both adults and kids can have fun, though of course the place is designed primarily for the little ones. There were several activities which were turned off or disabled, maybe in need of repair. Some of the toys also need replacement, e.g. the ice cream parlor.

I went with my 4 year old son on a school field trip. A nice lady came on the bus beforehand and explained the rules clearly and told us to go have fun. We went in and there was a nice big area to hang our jackets up. There were so many fun activities to do and my son loved every second. The activities were very scientific based which was wonderful because I could actually teach him while we were playing. He really enjoyed this sand topography pit that they had. There was also some water activities. We ventured upstairs and went to this cool art center where there was so many options to do. They also had a dress up section, kitchen, play house, construction, and so much more. We also on our way out bought a bunch of learning toys and some art projects. I think were going to go back and get a family membership because we enjoyed it so much. I definitely could let the kids play there and learn for hours. 100% would recommend! Also, all the employees were very helpful and kind.

Was there for a birthday party and was rushed out before the time was up by management VERY RUDE !!! Not to mention she was standing in front of the doorway just looking into the room while we sang happy birthday we were not even done and she started slamming and throwing kids chairs around complaining about the “mess” we had made. While me and my kids were outside waiting they where told to stop moving the toys around and to stop making a mess, i mean seriously its a kids place what are the expectations of keeping this place clean ? We went here for my nephews 2nd birthday party and had the worst experience ever. Felicia came to our room to clean while we were leaving and started throwing things around. We left directly after party ended because of how rude she was. There was another girl cleaning named Sarah and she was very professional unlike Felicia. We will definitely not come back here. I advice everyone not to book a party here unless you want to have it ruined by Felicia. None of the guests stayed to play either after the incident. She literally ran everyone out the whole museum with her attitude.

I usually do not write reviews, but I am so diguested and upset at the service I received for my sons birthday party that I need to let everyone who is considering this place to reconsider. I had the guest room for an hour and a half. FELICIA who is the mangement to that place came in the room 5 minutes before my room time was over and started cleaning by throwing chairs and moving tables around while my guests and kids are there. She was so rude that all of my guests left the place talking about how ignorant she was. She kept picking up the little kids chairs and slamming them down the kids tables and rolling her eyes. My guests and I were so upset no one stayed after the party to play in the museum. THIS IS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE FOR BIRTHDAY PARTIES. all of my guests returned the free child guest pass to the front desk on there way out. VERY POOR MANGEMENT! VERY IGNORANT! VERY RUDE.

Its a good place to take your kids but I think the location couldve been better. For the things they provide it needs a more spacious area. You also need to park in the parking garage behind it and the 5th floor is the one assigned for the museum which is free while the rest of the floors are for the Metra station next to it which you should pay for!

It is a little run down and could use a little bit of repair and replacement of parts but my kids really like all of the different interactive exhibits. Review №65

I took my seven-year-old here with a playdate with another local mom who had a nine-year-old and the kids loved it. I think they had a lot of unique things that I wasnt really expecting to find in a childrens museum. Honestly when I thought Childrens Museum I just thought it was going to be a fancy word for a childrens play area or indoor playground or something like that. And yes it is basically a childs indoor play area but the things that they had were well beyond my expectations. And I think it was really cool that even the simplest things that you didnt think would be that entertaining kept him occupied for a long time LOL. But there are other things that work really cool and the little extra effort they put in for the special effects for the kids, I thought was very creative. I would definitely like to come back here again and it is very affordable. I purchased a Groupon to do something fun for the kids that was inexpensive but even without the Groupon the prices are very reasonable. The kids did not want to leave but the adults get hungry and we wanted to go someplace nice to sit down. If they have food there I am not sure because we did not eat there but overall I think its a great place for kids of all ages. well maybe 10 might be to cut off because I cannot see my 11 year old really having that much fun there. The staff made an effort to really go behind the kids and clean up any mess that was made once the children ransacked it and moved on to the next section. The only thing that was a little weird as the sign says parking is on the top floor of the parking garage but when you get to the top for the parking garage it says Advocate employees only so we wasnt sure we were parking in the right space because those two signs were conflicting. Nothing happened to our car but that would have been helpful to be more clear and understanding if you were in the right area are not to be parking.
