When my wife, Ashley, and I were married 14 years ago we were looking for just the right Ketubah. I had graduated art school and I knew for sure I did not have the calligraphy abilities to pull off a professional Ketubah. As part of Lake Bluffs 125th Anniversary Celebration in 2020, the Village launched a major project including over 70 acrylic dogs. These unfinished life-size dog figures were sold to individuals and businesses, for the benefit of the Lake Bluff History Museum. Each dog figure was then customization by professional artists, who donated their efforts to the project.My family purchased a dog figure to support the Village, and to especially honor the loving relationships we had with our and our childrens dogs. We explored several of the artists, but were particularly drawn to the artistic skill and obvious commitment of Judith to the project.Working with Judith was a wonderful experience. We told her abouteach of our familys five dogs and sent her many pictures of them. She guided us, and we collaborated to develop a fantastic final design for Old Blue. She created our unifying theme - Their love covers us like a warm blanket.Judith then diligently painted the Old Blue perfectly.
