It has become an Museum of Contemporary Art staple of sorts. Nice backdrop for pictures of course. Youll never find a time when its completely free of visitors, but theres enough space there to make it your own. You should really check out the whole museum and the exhibits that it houses, its not just Museum of Contemporary Art. Cool place tho.
The lights at night are very beautiful and such a work of art. Im glad its free to the public. Its such s Romantic place to bring your date to after dinner.
I like the museum even though it’s nothing like the New York MOCA... I mean the collection is way more modest, but still very interesting... I love to come here on the last Friday of the month when they have a live JAZZ concert on the stage right by the museum entrance. This winter (2020) they have weaving workshops for hammock lovers
It is always a treat visiting MOCA, I never hesitate to dwell in whatever they are exhibiting there. Alice and Vicuña have so much to say!!!!!!
Love Jazz at MOCA every last Friday of the month. Its been a go-to for me, for YEARS. Its also great that the museum is open by donation on that night as well.
Absolutely love this placeThe art was so niceI learned so much from goingI will go again ( ◜‿◝ )♡( ◜‿◝ )♡
The best community museum ever! Rotating exhibits highlight both local and international contemporary artists. Great programing for kids and adults. Right in the middle of North Miami, fun to stroll the unique local shops or grab a snack after visiting.
It was quite interesting and the price was right. I was told they have different displays at different times.
Small great museum, love their selection of artists, very well maintained and curated.
Small but worth the visit. So much beautiful African art. Very inspiring! They also host events that are highly worth attending.
This is Friday night and jazzLots of people and it didnt rainMost helpful Tainisel see attached pictureGreat eclectic jazz and a lot more
Kids enjoyed the event that was held at the museum.
A gem in North Miami. Excellent, informative exhibits. Free admission for North Miami residents. Live entertainment once a month. Cafe nearby. Ample free parking. Bring the entire family and experience a beautiful local attraction. Theres also a gift shop on site with friendly helpful staff.
Exhibitions are ok, nothing worth driving for. The kids program is fantastic but has no right PR.shame
Love this little museum, super affordable and worth a little stroll. It is smaller than youd expect on the outside but the exhibits pack a lot of punch. When I went the exhibit was AfroCobra an art movement full of black empowerment, black panther references, and tons of color. You can really take your time here and soak it in. My only complaint is the gift shop, they should have affordable trinkets from local vendors and artists. If your exhibit is about empowerment then your gift shop should be too!
Great place overall, well organized events and the art displays very well curated and created... entertainment and compliments are of superb quality.A most visit!!!!!!!
I visited MOCA during Art Basal Miami 2017 to view the Jacob Felländer How to Unlock a Portrait exhibit. The exhibit was extremely detailed and vivid. Jacobs explanation of his method of photography was very intriguing, yet made it easy for me to understand how he arrived at each picture. I highly recommend this exhibit. It will be on display at MOCA until 02/11/2018.
Wooww I love this place the people always are so nice and friendly we can feel completely at home
Terrible exhibit. Very disappointed. Great live jazz though.
Very nice layout, the exhibit was quite good, the museum deserves to grow
It’s literally just 2 rooms. Spent 10 dollars and left within 10 minutes. LOL
Flew in from Salt Lake and was excited to explore a broad selection of art museums. We were charged $10 to enter and the museum was much smaller than expected. If you are traveling dont waste the time, but if you are a local or student the admission is only $3. That would be worth it.
Small museum with interesting exhibits. Right now its showcasing artists from Haiti, which was really amazing. Also, admission is free if you live in North Miami.
They have a great free program for teens to do all types of arts.
Underserved fine museumWe go to the jazz concerts at night,World class musicians all the time
They are laid back. Can see the work up close and take pictures. Inspiring, using materials discarded after the 2010 earthquake.
It is a very small museum. It takes maybe 30 min to go through the whole place. Very friendly staff. Free parking everywhere. Not a very nice neighborhood but seemed safe enough. Good variety of food options around the area if you want to combine the experience.
Very beautiful art and 5 dollar entrance!
Beautiful art.. That you almost can touch....
The AfriCobra exhibit was showing during our visit and it was absolutely breathtaking. Such a great collection. Im sure everything they show there is high caliber.
Eco friendly building is beautiful in a modern way. Docent tours are free and highly recommended. Each tour guide brings out different aspects of the artworks.
If your in the area and have nothing to do... its a good way to pass the time.
Nothing great there anymore....More like a neighborhood craft fairGo to ICA instead, not big but at least they are knowledgeable. ...
A little small but worth the visit. Staff was friendly and helpful in the gift shop. The museum is located near some cafes and spots to visit.
I visited this museum while on a trip to the area. The museum isn’t that big, but it was enjoyable! There is plenty of space to walk around and view the exhibits. They even have a gift shop with books, bags, etc. If you’re in the area please support this museum! Keep the arts alive!!
Love this place. Free jazz concerts the last Friday of every month under the stars! Great museum.
Nice Community. Friendly atmosphere.
Miss global Pageant 2020
This place has some decent art. The staff was very friendly. You can get in for free if you are a Bank of American customer. I don’t think I would go too far out of my way to visit again. Some of the art was what I would consider low-effort. There isn’t a lot of material there, just enough to fill a few large rooms. Will most likely not return.
The most amazing art of all time you will find here
Very good environment to visit with family, staff is amazing specially a young lady her name is Madjinie she gave me a very nice tour, she was so friendly I really have to come back to visit again
A place for modern day artist with revolutionary Ideas and unlimited creativity. LOVE MOCA
Nice luv the vibes& restaurant
The Afrocobra exhibit going on until early April 2019 is a must see. Expertly curated with a profound message as well as very colorful and beautiful art.
Nice museum to visit its on the small side but you can spend an hour walking around. They have arts and crafts for kids on certain weekends which is nice. I would visit again
Monthly bike ride with North Miami Police Department, absolutely the best.
Very interesting museum; worth the time and trip. Recommend.
Great musuem with friendly staff and live Jazz on last Fri of the month
Really beautiful and interesting pieces
Unexpectedly nice exhibit along with an outdoor free jazz concert. I think that is held once a month.
Great local museum.
Great art and always hosting nice events .
Love this little gem and Friday jazz nights
HAD SO MUCH FUN HERE WITH MY CREW
Fun little museum for an afternoon. I would definitely recommend it if youre in the area.
ArtSci event outside. The weather was good. The event was more about health than Art. Free pizza was great.
Only wish I had mo time. next time! wonderful space, lovely folk in the public sphere. impressed by book section in museum shop. call me envious! cant wait to darken their door again.
Offers very interesting tours of the exhibits, highly recommend!
This s a wonderful, though small museum. This wont hold a days visit but will certainly make for a 2-3 hours visit provided one is liking modern art. The surrounding streets are nice as well
The art there was interesting and very pleasing the eyes
My neighborhood museum. A must see if your coming through the city. A hidden gem in North Miami.
If you like contemporary art; this is for you.
Had the greatest display of Ayisyen recyclable Art.
Art is the important way of expressing your feelings towards people, places, things
I joined as an artist member for $30. Looked at the Jason Fellander photo/paintings show. Wore my first pair of virtual reality glasses. Nice venue for downtown North Miami. Next to Cafe Creme, Billys Pub 2, Luna Star and several anitique/design shops.
Interesting collection of modern Latin American art
Great museum... great outdoor free shows
This museum has fantastic, thoughtful exhibits that address the diverse arts and cultural traditions of Florida, as well as social justice themes.
I have been attending for years . This Museum has always featured great Art and Artist . The displays are always well arranged and thought out . The programs for the community alway great such as art classes . The last Friday of every month the MOCA features outdoor Jazz with some of the Stellar best from Florida and beyond . Always a great crowd ranging from ages 20 on up and Mixed in ethnicity. There are a few restaurants close by for food and further entertainment. Cafe Creme for men some great food and spirits plus well made desserts delivered with excellent service . The luna Star Cafe for Live Music, food, beer and wine .
Love the art..love the free jazz concerts every last Friday of the month even more
Not even close to what I was expecting. Visit galleries instead due to more choices of art. MOCA was “ok” but it’s a One-And-Done type of museum.
Very nice. Art and music
I love the environment here my niece comes here for here summer and spring break art classes and the staff here are so nice and help you so well with any questions you have.
Very small and I believe it only exhibits one artist at a time. I enjoyed it regardless, just wish it was a bit bigger and with more to see.
MOCA is on one level and the displays are whimsical.
Beautiful place and interesting exhibits.
Very cool and small
I will join, this is a great art space and the exhibit was spot on
Good Museum
Trip down memory lane...
Art classes for kids are awesome! I wish can be more than one every month
Very hip museum showcasing contemporary art. Even the building is a beautiful piece of art in itself.
Awesomeness
This is a gem! The exhibit was great.
Nice local museum with monthly jazz concerts on the lawn
Very formal and well placed pieces with amazingly structured tour.
Great place, every time were in Miami we stop by here.
I enjoy different exhibit and tour . It is a nice museum actually . Good low key place to go on a date.
The museum is very small, I mean VERY small. The exhibit is therefore hit or miss as there is only one exhibit at a time. The one today was a miss. There is WiFi and you can sit outside but there is no place to get a coffee or anything. Go here only if you know you are interested in the exhibit, otherwise it more than likely will be a wasted trip.
The museum is really small. The frequent patrons are snobs. Its cliche. I dont feel a sense of belonging.Anyway, they have events outside the museum every Friday nights. Thats the best experience.
Nuff Said
Nice place, but its under construction making somewhat difficult to access.
MOCA jazz night featuring great artists! Here: Aaron Lebos Reality!!!!!!
Nice place. I love all of the paintings and figures.
