Was visiting from out of town. Went on a Wed adult night. Music was nice mix of retro and some newer ... great skate beats. Was supposed to go until 930, but due to a large number of music requests, the manager went a little past closing time (much appreciated!!). Had a blast. Also, to top off a great evening, a very welcoming local couple, on their way out at the end, stopped and introduced themselves (thanks for your hospitality!!).
The facility was clean but needs some updates. Needs more seating, the bathroom is dark, and the wavier process was complicated and should have been on the website. They only rent out roller skates, no roller blades. They need a larger entrance it got very full very quickly. The music was eclectic and games were played. Different skate sessions partner skate dance skate and even limbo. The staff were attentive and helped those who fell and gave tips about skating. Everybody skates on one rink no separation for beginners and experienced skaters. Overall a good atmosphere and not bad price
Great family atmosphere! I went to the mid day weekend session and had a Blast! The employees are very kind and we felt welcomed and safe! I heard the PM session it primarily teen and can be on the Rowdy side... but I can not confirm that. The weekend DAY session was great a perfect place for a summer get out of the house thing!
It is amazing how this place has been open since I was a child and they have kept the theme very old school just as I remember it. The outside definitely needs to be freshened up however the inside is fabulous and it is a great time. The birthday parties are a lot of fun. I highly recommend them for childrens birthday parties.
Great place to spend your weekends at. Safe and Secure environment! Got to LOVE 1st hand the way staff treats their customers (As one of their own). Since I have started skating again my son and daughter in law along with my grandson are enjoying our quality time spent at the Palace Roller Rink. I LOVE IT on Sunday nights from 6:30 pm to 9:15 pm. JOIN us! YOU will find much enjoyment.
Very awesome place to be... Good for all ages.. Staff is great friendly people use to go there myself over 20 years ago.. Same owner now as it was then.. Definitely 5 stars
Place looks like a dump from the outside. It has for years. Inside its better. Just an old school skating rink. Some strange rules like paying at the DJ booth before ordering at the concession stand...Thats not temporary, its how they do it.Im rating this based on the birthday party I took my 9 year old daughter to.Having a 9yo and a 13yo weve done many bday parties at a kids venue. Its not that it was bad but it definitely wasnt a $135 party.
Dont let the outside fool you. The inside is actually decent. There are a couple spots inside that are out dated like the eating area. But overall decent. The skating rink is nice and seems level. The employees are really nice and helpful. They play games throughout the day where the winners get prizes. My daughter really enjoys it here and well definitely be back.
We booked a birthday party back in April, not only did we have a fabulous time but weve been hooked ever since! Clean, fun, modern enough for my 8 year old but nostalgic enough for us big kids as well! ;) HIGHLY recommended and I LOVE the new owner/manager. She genuinely loves what she does and it shows! I also like the strict no tolerance to bullying policy. Definitely a safe family fun zone to check out!
First off, the advertisements and website said sessions were $6 a piece. I didnt think that 3X6=27. I always was taught that 3X9=27, so I was charged $9 a piece. I tried several times to get attention of the attendant but shed already processed my card. Second, that place is all about making money off of anything and anyone. No rink guards, only the DJ telling everyone the rules over the loudspeaker and charging people $3 a person just to spectate. I have no choice but to go there because my kids like it, but believe me, I will NOT pay that amount again2/14/16 - Finally talked with Sandi, who apologized and were great. Great improvement since the last time. Didnt know if I would like the tab at the snack bar, but really worked out well. One charge for everything, so no processing charges for every purchase. The boys really like coming there.
I have been to this skate rink many times, and I am proud to say I am going again. The mascots have voices! I love to hang out with my friends there. On Sunday mornings the owner makes a raffle for a free pair of skates. I have not won a pair yet but it keeps me coming back. I have had my birthday party there and the hosts are amazing! The DJ says your name many times and it makes you feel featured. The music is up to date and they have the classics for all those who like the classics! If you are interested in this rink, I suggest you come to the one and only, Palace Roller Rink!
I had left several messages for them in regards to booking my daughter’s birthday party when I finally got a callback from a lady named Sandy and she answered a couple of my questions and I informed her that I was at work and I will call her right back .. when I called her back she seemed irritated I asked her a few questions regarding her party packages because I had about 15 people that I wanted to pay for and the remainder I didn’t !! I felt like every question I asked about the party she was getting irritated then when I asked if I had could have adults pay for their self and I just buy extra pizzas for the adults she made it sound like it was a big deal and then I asked her what my time was for the party and she stated 1 to 430 and I said OK is your rink still open after that and she said you have it from 1 to 430 I said I know but that wasn’t my question is your rink open late so if my guest want to stay she said you don’t have a private party I said I know that you’re not answering my question anyways very rude I decided to take my daughter‘s birthday party elsewhere !!! i’ve done customer service for over 15 years and if we ever talk to customers how she did we would’ve been fired on the spot I’m such a bubbly and nice person I don’t understand why she was getting so irritated #Rude welcome to North Fort Myers
I love this skating rink. Ive been going since i was little. I always had my parties there. The staff is so friendly. They try to make u feel at home and try to keep u safe. There is always 2-3 staff members on the rink to make sure everyone is being safe. I love this rink.
The front door is like getting through white house security. The staff is angry, too many rules, let the kids have fun while being safe. The DJ is annoying with constantly announcing rule breakers or violators. Get more seating for parents and they wont sit on your dirty floors. The place needs updates by 30 years for the prices they charge. Would never recommend and they sure dont try to make you feel welcome. I would never consider having a birthday party here after attending one. Great job.
The Palace Is the best skating rink ever. Ever since Sandi came back everything has become so much better. There are new lights, mascots, and events. Theyve gotten more safe and have even more staff. Theyve even gotten a new money machine too. Best parties I have ever been to. I highly recommend them!
First time here and my kids enjoyed it! The workers took their time to give them tips! Will definitely go back!!
My children have been skating at the rink for 4 years. The place is clean, friendly, and so much fun. The parties are amazing, they include great hostesses who do mostly everything for you! I have had both of my childrens parties there! I highly recommend the Palace to any family who is looking for a fun filled weekend!
This place is depressing.....it comes to NO surprise that they actually charge $7.00 a person to watch the child skating. It was a shocker to myself as well as my sons big sister of such a ridiculous charge. I hope their using these funds to buy seating. Cast iron benches lined up against a wall is not a relaxing or even an inviting atmosphere! Hint hint....chairs....tables....real decor....1st time and last time Ill come here....theres a reason I never heard of this place.....not much to say except WOW! And NOT in a good way!!!!!!!!CANT WAIT FOR BAMBOOZLES TO REOPEN!!!!!!!
Went for my girlfriends birthday with a bunch of friends. She and I had our first date there and had some happy memories. We told them at the door that we would be using roller blades. The cashier neglected to tell us that all of their blades were broken. After finding out, we asked for a refund. Apparently, you dont pay to use their facility, you pay to walk through the door. We had walked through the door so it was out of their hands. Asked to speak with a manager, she was extremely rude to us. Our group ended up spending around 80 dollars to stand around and argue with staff. Seems like all they care about is money. In addition, the food is expensive and it doesnt look the place has been updated since the 70s. Youre better off going to the rink down in Fort Myers.
I love this place and so do my kids and their friends! I went there as a teenager and then had an awesome birthday party for my son, which got him hooked on skating. We go at least once a month and the music is always great, the kids are great, and the owners and DJs are fantastic people. Yes the building isnt brand new BUT it is always clean inside and SAFE. I can drop my son off for a few hours and not worry because I know he is somewhere where he is cared for!
Kids had a blast for my sons party! I just didnt like that they automatically put tip on my bill, or that you have to pay extra for the walkers to help with skating. I would think they should be free cause then more people would come back if they could skate! Staff was very friendy!
Went for a birthday party. They made us all stand outside for 20 minutes and fill out liability wavers for each child with no pens or table. The air conditioner was either broken or off. There were no paper towels at the bathroom sinks and 2 out of 4 sinks did not work. The manager, Sandy, was extremely rude to me when I was paying for myself: she wanted me to go find whoever had my waivers and bring them to her after I had waited in line for 10 minutes. When I refused, she asked me to fill out a waiver for myself. I am 38 years old, the waivers are for children. When I asked her what her name was she got very upset and told me to leave. I did not leave. Very unorganized and the music was the same as it was 25 years ago when I went there as a child. Horrible experience.
Awesome Place to be I have been going there many years and my kids are now skating there
Lots of fun. Great birthday price. Kids loved it.
Best memories of growing up and teenage years here, love sandi, jesse and dooper.
The palace is a great way for you kids to make new friends. Ive been going to the palace since I was a kid. The crew there is just amazing I love them all.
My son and his friends went there on a Friday night thought it was safe environment since police are there we were wrong. My son and another one of his friends shoes were stolen they didnt know there was lockers they could use and didnt think they needed to since they kept announcing that all bags would be searched. When spoke to owner following day she explained that when this happens they normally find them hidden in building which ours were not. Also explained that this happens when the kids go back to school. Nothing offered as any help and as she has clearly made it she has knowledge this is going on in her establishment. Will never return again.
We had a great time. Very clean place and fun had by all from 50 down to 6.
It was pretty awesome to take the kids to. We all had fun.
SUMMER FUN! I thought it was a little pricey =( BUT worth it when you have a BORED 12 yr old visiting Florida and doesnt have friends here. My neice had an AMAZING AWESOME and funfilled time asked to go several times during her visit.
The biggest rink around this area with a great floor and good dj. I skate there every Sunday night and would probably skate there more if I had the time!
Was a very clean place and the facility is very nice and spacious and air condition you have a good time if you visit here
My weekly skate family meets here we love it! But unfortunately November 25 2018 was its last day of operations.
A while back my daughter went to the Palace, She was there with friends when I get a call from the manager who said my daughter had fallen hurt herself and almost passed out well I rushed over and found the manager personally attending to her with first aid that was more informed than I thought would be provided, what to do when a person goes through fight or flight. She refunded my daughters money, let me stay and skate for free and was more kind than she should have been when my daughter blurted out that shed only had a donut for breakfast. Kids. Anyhow the place really cares about their customers and theyre Moms. Thanks Palace Mgr you were great, Ill take my kid there any day because I know they care.
I dont understand how the seating is there isnt really any area to sit but what one bench and the eating area! All in all my girls and I do have a blast when we go there!
Reminds me of my youth! So awesome for kids too as they have pushcarts to help them learn.
We went last night with my kids ages from 3 to 12, ofcouse me and the wife fell a couple times but we had a good time doing it, kids loved it and my 3 year old was crying he did not want to leave. Prices are not blown out apportion like other places to do with the kids. Loved it will return, only thing I dont like was no refills on soda
Nice place to play and skate with your kids! Super fun and cheap!!!
Look like the kids were having fun could use a little more interior decorating
Our family just went for the first time and that place is anything but friendly. We sat there and watched the birthday parties they had going on and they were awful. There was no.juice available for the children to purchase. Even though it was on the menu and the manager was extremely rude as well. Needless to say, we will not.be booking our party with them. The ace has great potential but zero people willing.to make it.fun for.the guests. I do NOT recommend this place
I read all of the reviews before coming everyone said its kid friendly and fun. I have 4 kids all under 9 and theyre not having any fun. Some music is not kid friendly.... and kids are limited unlike the older. Older kids think they run the place and cut and knock kids over. Very disappointed.
Amazing place to send kids to have fun! Safe environment and family operated.
I really dont understand all these negative reviews. This place is amazing! I come here at least twice a month, if not more. Every visit I am greeted with a very polite DJ that seems to love her job. The prices are a bit high, but definitely worth it. The minute I walk in I cant wait to get on the rink. The roller skates are in very good shape, and safe. The music really captures the roller rink vibe, from 70s music to music from 2017. They are well organized with an open area. The center is mainly for the slowwr, beginner skaters, so they dont get slammed into by the more experienced skaters. They provide walkers for the little tikes if needed. The staff really care about their customers. I was at a birthday party and one of the partiers sprained her ankle. They have a wheelchair on-site and are very informed about everything. They throw fantastic parties and make sure you feel welcomed. Fantastic placeI would definitely recommend instead of Bamboozles or any other rink. Amazing.
Owner was super nice and so was the rest of staff. Rink was in good condition and music was super good.
Great place, good people. Too bad its closing.
Took my kids here for the first time this past weekend, and dont plan on ever going back thanks to the extremely rude lady that works the concession stand. She really hates her job!!!!
Best roller rink ever, the only one I will go to and recommend.️
I love to skate once u get to know them u people tht love u. A lot. Now skating is. My life love them
Nice place once you get passed the jail style entry
I love the Palace!!! I used to go there when I was younger and went back on a visit. Still awesome! Great place for fun birthday parties!!
I was a lot of fun you have birthdays there you can win things kids love it there
We have fun everything there, just a little outdated
I love this place its really amazing they have a lot of games for the kids, dancing, and a lot more fun. U got to try this place
I go every friday and Saturday night it is the best place ever and there safe and ur skating at ur OWN risk
Awesome experience. i have been skating all my life and this is the only rink in SWFL area that truly brings back that genuine 80s feel for skating. fun people, lots of jam and shuffle skates, staff are fun and helpful, only one with pool tables. but not overdone into a dumb kiddy playground like bamboozles, where you cant even request some debbie deb, or freestyle anymore. and cant skate fast at all. larger skate floor. etc. in my opinion; best place for skating around.
The place is fun... A bit old.. but we go for the staff !!!
The palace roller rink is a great place to go and skate and have fun with friends and family and you dont have to worry about anything happening if somebody does something wrong they will serve consequences for their actions its a great environment
This place is a huge waste of money if your kids can’t skate- They put you in a small corner by yourself, which is also left out with the lights/ decoration
Friendly staff and fun times at reasonable prices.
This used to be the place where all the cool kids used to go to, this is my childhood, I will never forget this place.
Place is EXACTLY how I remember it from when I was 10 years old and I’m 32! And I don’t mind!
I wish zero stars was an option. This rink is a joke for parties. For the same amount you can have a party at the ice skating rink in ft myers. Im sure bamboozles is around the same as well. The manager /slash owner is so rude and has no idea what customer service is. The place is outdated and food is overpriced. They also do not tell the parties that book that their is an additional $3 charge per child to use a walkerto assist first time skatersand/or kids. So kids who are going to skating party already paid for by the parent of the birthday child have to pay $3 to have something help them skate at a skate party. To me its greedy, say 10 kids at a party that is $30 . Oh and the skatium and germain arena skate area all provide the walkers for free, ya know bc the kids are there to SKATE. And as a parent who books many parties I will never use this place.
Spent my 13th birthday there and it was really fun
It is so fun I have the best of times the and I am 39
I had such a blast when I went. The music is great. The people are nice and its fun to skate. I literally have no idea what these other people are leaving rude reviews for because I learned to skate here when I was little and have been going here since and never had a problem. Even my father learned to skate here!!! The palace has been around for a long time and its great to go and see all the different generations of skaters. Everytime I go theres people of all races, gender, age, and skill level so its a blast. Idk what the other people are saying but listen to me cuz the palace is an amazing place
My sister use to go there every Friday night. She has a black boyfriend. Her boyfriend was threatened by the managers friends that were other kids. Her boyfriend was bullied, because he is black. THEY thought it was okay. This is 2013, not 1963!
Very good experience.Staff: very friendly. There was a lot of staff and they were very friendly. They went out of the way to make you feel at home. They didnt just ignore you or act like they dont care youre there like so many other businesses. The lady at the counter was a people person and even gave us some presents. Overall, you could say this was the opposite of places like Seven nightclubatmospere: excellent. As someone who likes old things, I likes the way the place was kind of outdated from 1980 like a time-capsule. It had huge disco mirrored balls, nice red benches and red / white chandeliers, bathrooms you could roller skate into, etc. It made it feel like you were at the rink as a kid in the old days.customers: Many of the other people skating there were regulars and they went out of their way to be friendly. I definitely didnt get the this place is full of scumbags / stuckup pricks feelingprice: price was good for what we got. Ive left clubs feeling like I got ripped off. This was the opposite.music: They had a good sound system. I have sensitive ears, so it was a little too loud for me, but still it was good. The lady at the desk takes requests and even said that you can bring in music for her to play. Next time I go we will be listening to really good music, I can assure youother: They have a food area where you can buy pizza and stuff. They also have arcade games and pool tables. I think I saw an air hockey table too. At the end of the night people can get on roller racers which they have their for people to ride on during the last couple of songs for no extra charge (at leat the night I was there anyway). The lady said that they were originally called turtle racers in the 70sconclusion: I was very happy to go here and I dont understand all the negative reviews others wrote here.
Great retro skating rink.
Priced right fun place.
Fun spot for old fashion roller skating.
Had a good time. Very friendly
I purchased skates here. Very helpful and friendly staff!!
Clean, safe - wanded at LOCKED doorway.
It was fun but dirty
Cool place
What happened I thought open 7 to 915 Tuesday??? 8/7/2018??? Was there and its not open????
Great place to take the kids
Way too expensive for this run down old place needs updating and please whatever you do dont eat there its just something to do for the kids I mean it is doable
Closed Permanently
Fun time for the family
Had a ball
Owners a jerk
Not so crowded
Great place for the kids
Fun for the whole family
Love this place
Too much drama
Went here when I was a kid and now my kids go here.
Best fun
Good family fun.
Roller skate was cracked across the width of the skate. When given another the shoe was unglued from the sole. Some kid that didnt work there helped me and was extremely rude ! Will never go back. Will stick to Bamboozles.
Awesome fun place.
Really great
Poor customer service
Horrible. Go to Bamboozles
Not open for matinee skating as advertised on Google and their own building.
It was amazing i go every friday
I just saw a 13 yr old get beat on Cops Reloaded and apparently this was the third time it had happened before management decided to step in.
