The people who care for the museum take a personal pride in what they do and shows. The volunteers are extremely knowledgeable about what is displayed. I have studied planes and history for 40+years and its great that the tour guide still knows alot more than anyone in the tour. I am proud and thankful for these individuals who served our country and love to educate others on our history and the sacrifices by so many. Thank you.
Visited here today. Awesome museum. Wonderful tour guide - Mr. Blatmann ( I believe that is what his name tag said). Great place to learn about the people who played an important role in aviation. Exhibits are very well displayed. Definitely recommend a visit and plan on spending a minimum of 4 hours.
Awesome place! The show was great today. I would highly recommend. We must never forget our history.
Fantastic displays. Definitely recommend it for.people of all ages to learn about aviation history. They even have a small section on space
Surprisingly a great little museum. I especially like seeing work being done in the restoration building.
I MC the Green Area Chamber of Commerces annual Casino Night fundraiser and this is a fantastic venue for such an event. Rubber City Radio Group also hosts its Hunting, Fishing, and Outdoors Show here in late March each year and the venue works great for that too. The staff is friendly and there is a tremendous amount of military and aviation history from wall to wall. Its a real gem of the Akron area and one that more people should explore.
Love the old planes, my son and I enjoyed climbing in the cockpit of quite a few. Great experience putting your hands on some of these mechanical marvels and the history behind them. Fantastic facility with polite, hardworking and KNOWLEDGEABLE staff! Couldnt believe just how much they new about each piece of equipment. Made for a great afternoon with my son and father.
Just a awesome place to visit, lots of historical aircraft, aircraft tours are available and its a great family adventure
Never knew this GEM of history was so close to home ! Truly educational, and got a guided tour as well!
Great place to spend an afternoon viewing real fighting aircraft. You can also poke your head into the workshop and see volunteers rebuilding old war birds.
The MAPS Air Museum has a diverse collection of aircraft and related artifacts spanning the two World Wars and the Cold War. Several of them have been restored while others appear to be awaiting restoration. The volunteers are very knowledgeable and friendly. One can really see the passion they put into the museum. Definitely worth a visit if youre in the area and have an interest in aviation.
We took the tour and our guide made such a difference! So much to see with awesome pieces of history! So grateful for those that serve and have served our country. This museum is a must see. Love all the flowers out front!
Very informative and educational. A wonderful tribute to our military.
Great museum!! Alot of cool displays. Very knowledgeable people and great history behind every airplane there. Definitely a must see when in the Akron area.
Great history and wonderful to see planes/ jets recovered. Wonderful volunteers!
Must see if youre an aviation buff. Kids loved it too!
One of best Air Museum I have ever been to
This is the first and only air museum I have had the privelage of visiting and I loved it. For someone who has only ever flown once standing next to some of these machines puts you in awe of the sheer size of them. This is most definitely an educational experience that needs to be enjoyed. The amount of knowledge in military aviation and tech is plenty enough to not overwhelm you but gives you that fix you need. The staff are right away friendly and knowledgeable in everything that is there, and there is no shortage of stories they can tell. There are the planes and helicopters even a gondola from an early Goodyear blimp you can go in, and an amphibious single engine as well as a few choppers you can set in and more. Beyond that they have a military history wing where you can see the evolution of military and war time gear. From some of the earliest wars to the most recent tech.It is a great place and I will visit again. The only things missing were my 2 favorite planes I wanna see in person and thats an sr71 blackhawk and the Harrier AV-8B jump jet.
Great museum if youre into military. Large indoor display and claims on the tarmac. Enjoy very much. Handicap friendly
Best little air museum in northeast ohio!
This world class museum is a short distance from I-77 and a must see for any military buff or WWII historian. Over 42,000 visitors stop annually for the many events like todays Collins Foundation fly-in of military aircraft. They have extensive on going exhibits and special events like the one mentioned above. They restore military aircraft and you can sit inside an actual jet. Discounts available so check their website.
Had a work banquet here. Service was A1. Alot of stuff to look at, and alot of history
You see a small part of aviation history. Very educational.
Great historical air experience.
I took a friend there and he absolutely loved it. Its a small museum but its definitely filled with history. You can definitely spend two to three hours at the museum easily. The volunteers there were great, very informative.
Great time and a lot of great volunteers. Expanding their collection and Museum. Really glad I got to stop and cant wait to see some of the stuff that theyre refurbishing right now make it out on the floor
Exciting to see a part of history up front and personal. The pancake breakfast was delicious!
Very nice place. You get to sit on a few of the aircraft
It has been my pleasure but mostly my privilege to be involved at MAPS for the last year or so. The highlight though was last night at the Veterans Day Ceremony. Just an awesome experience. A heartfelt thanks to all of the people who put this together. Simply amazing.
Knowledgeable staff and best variety of planes except Wright Patterson AF museum. Great selection of models and t-shirts in the gift shop. Cheap snacks in vending machines.
Friendly staff and through explanations of the airplanes and different objects. Extremely impressed with the amount of work that goes into the planes. 10/10
Fantastic place to visit and learn about the aircraft and memorial collection from the volunteer staff.
Went to donate picture of World War I platoon that a Great Uncle that lived in Canton was part. They no longer have a archivist for photos and could not accept it. So now I am researching for a place that might be able to use it and display it.
Nice museum with a great collection of aircraft. Staff are very helpful.
This place is amazing. God Bless our Troops and Veterans. Awesome millitary aircraft. Lots to see. Definitely going to visit again with my son. He loved it.
Awesome place if youre into aviation/military history
We took 4 kids under 12 to the pancake break and to check out the cars and planes. There was a Vettes (Corvettes) and jets theme. The kids LOVED IT! The people working the event were super helpful and kind. There was also a gentleman at one of the exhibits who took the time to explain to the kids the process of parachuting out of the jump plane. So many great things to see and good people to see them with! I would recommend this to anyone, young or old. Thanks to all who made this event possible, well organized and smoothly ran.
Excellent place to spend an afternoon browsing through military aviation history. Many interesting planes and friendly people to give insights into the aircraft history.
Hello, Comfortable afternoon walk through air defense history .
A great local aviation museum.
Stayed overnight sleeping next to the radar tower with BSA Scout Troop. It was a lot of fun and the museum was awesome! Going back so I can spend some more time looking at all the stuff they had.
Absolutely amazing, would recommend it to anyone. Guys were more than happy to give you the story on every aircraft.
So many amazing things to see and great displays and so much history!
MAPS is such a treasure in Stark County, we love visiting!
Great museum. Great Docents. Worth a visit!
Great piece of history
Absolutely love the place. People couldnt be nicer there. Enjoyed the local history. Great location. Adequate parking. Clean restrooms. Eating Arrangements need to improve. No major safety concerns.
I was there for a special event. We had a great time. It was very organized and the staff was wonderful. Ill certainly be going back in the future to explore the museum.
A great museum! You can get up close to really get a sense of the size and complexity of each piece of history!
I love this place. Having the history so close to home with the awesome aircraft is so nice!
Enjoy learning about the airplaina and the people who served in the wars.
Im not interested in planes and stuff, but it was cool ig
Wonderful afternoon at the museum. Perfect day for a flight on a B-25 bomber. Thanks to the Collings Foundation, for an awesome memory!
They do a great job restoring old warbirds back to all their glory
Better than I anticipated! Even though there is the opportunity to take self guided tours, the people who work/volunteer there are excellent resources and take obvious pride in showing off and talking about what they have. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit, as did my out of town guests!
Very decent aircraft museum to visit, nice selection of planes from various time frames. The oldest being a 1908 Wright Flyer, the newest being a F-16 Viper. Theres even a few Russian Migs, F-14 Tomcat & F-86 Saber. Admission is reasonable, good time for my Dad and grandson.
The staff was very friendly, and seemed to enjoy to answer questions. Its not the largest collection of old aircraft, but its a good couple of hours worth of exploring and checking things out. Longer if you want to read / listen to the plaques in front of the displays.
Best kept secret in the Akron-Canton area. Lived in the area for 7 yrs previously, and never discovered it. Really cool
What a neat place to visit!!!
Love the fact that they are restoring old military planes and other items. Especially liked that they had a lot of area veterans displayed and showed their stories. People were very friendly. It was a relaxed atmosphere. I did think that the museum would be bigger.
Great selection of aircraft and other exhibits . They have a well equipped restoration shop there also.
Great educational place for all ages.
The museum is so much more than we expected! We had a very knowledgeable guide! We just may make another visit next time we are in town.
A great volunteer run museum. They have some incredible aircraft exhibits though it appears both due to manpower shortages and money shortages not all of them are taken care of super well. The museums for fallen Ohio service members and medal of Honor recipients are well taken care of and informative!
A Totally Awesome Museum! My father and I had a really wonderful time seeing all of the retired Airplanes and other memorabilia! Also the staff was really kind and friendly to both my father and I! I would Highly Recommend this Museum!
The MAPS air museum as an impressive display of historical military and civilian aircraft. They have an extensive gallery that includes stories and models from past wars. It was a top-notch experience, and my tour guide was very knowledgable. I definitely recommend coming here.
I was there with family for a special event and truly enjoyed the food and organization that went into making the evening extra special.
I love this place cuz its just the right size and have just the right amount of history and information available whereas the Air Force Museum in Dayton Ohio is so huge it takes two days just to walk through it we visit the museum we went to Laurel a Lockheed Martin then went to Goodyear blimp Hangar and got a ride on the Goodyear blimp the best thing on my bucket list kind of list as far as Im concerned
Beautiful day among the vintage air craft. Crowds are great, everyone appears to be having fun. P51 take off with B24 was awesome
It was a really nice museum with the option of a tour guide or self guided. Really a nice museum to go to.
Love ww2 planes and Vietnam helicopters and jets
It was amazing and we had a wonderful tour guide who taught us so much! We were there for three hours and still didnt see it all! We cant wait to go back
Its no air force museum in dayton, but its nice to have a slice of it !!
Cant see it all in one day. Well put together. Great people work there.
Had Breakfast with Santa thru the Affiliates of SCAR. Great time good food and a wonderful place to visit.
Well worth the admission, the staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. Lots to look at and the quality of museum pieces are placed nicely.
Staff is extremely friendly and well knowledged. The museum was interactive for the children and everywhere you look there is something new you didnt see. Highly recommend
My first visit there and will go again . Nice historic displays .

Awesome place! The volunteers are full of great stories and information.
What a great museum. Very hands on and talking to the retired vets was tops.
Good History, Fin Times, Little to do and bad hours. Good to take Grandpa and grandma.
Old planes ! They are so cool. There are some you can go inside. A museum of military uniforms and war memorabilia is upstairs and the volunteers are very friendly .
3 year old loved climbing in the airplanes. Our tour guide Cheryl was wonderful. She even recommend a few other places to visit while in town.
They have six aircraft I used to work on. The people are knowledgable and pleasant to chat with
Very cool place to visit. Real veterans running it and working in it. Very knowledgeable and passionate people. Always bringing in new planes and constantly working to make improvements. Very friendly staff.
Awesome place. They have restored planes that you can climb in and get an up close look at. The volunteers and people that work there are knowledgeable and love to tell you about the planes and artifacts.
Private tour for my dad and I. Cool to see this stuff up close. The MASH unit was amazing
Nice museum. Highlight was seeing a Goodyear Blimp in person and sitting in Spirit of Akron!
Great local museum that everyone should support, as it provides a local look at military and aviation history. Great place for a weekend trip with the kids!
Informative I learned so much and I had fun going inside the old war planes was cool
Always a great place to visit. Interesting displays. and you can actually get close to the planes and maybe even sit in the cockpit.
Great place. Guys who flew the planes are there. Definitely worth the time
Really nice morning out. My family loved being able to get into the machines.
